Chapter 367: Three Little Ones Happy, Three Little Ones Fighting Internally
“Today, we’re going out to play together,” Hu Yu Ying said with a smile, holding Li Qing Xue’s hand. “Before that, we’re going to pick Wan Ning up for dinner. We have something to tell you.”
She deliberately left a mystery, just loving to watch Qing Xue’s eager face as she wondered about the little secret but wasn’t told. Her eyes twinkled with curiosity, like a detective on a missing cookie case.
Out of the three kids, only Qing Xue was the worst at keeping secrets. She loved sharing everything—kept everything bottled up until it was about to burst. Now, with Hu Yu Ying dangling this secret like a prize, she was practically bouncing in her seat.
When Hu Yu Ying handed her a helmet and they sat on the electric scooter, nervously moving along at a snail’s pace, Qing Xue’s mood shifted from impatience to happiness real quick.
Sometimes, Li Qing Xue’s mood swings are honestly enviable.
“Wow~ Ah Ying, can we go faster?” Li Qing Xue leaned back on the backseat, feeling the cool breeze sweep through her hair, as if it was blowing away all her worries.
“No can do, too many people around. Once we pass the traffic light up ahead, I promise, we’ll pick up speed.”
“Alright then! Hehe, I’m so happy,” Li Qing Xue giggled, draping her arms around Hu Yu Ying’s waist.
Hu Yu Ying, riding the scooter, didn’t see the grin on Li Qing Xue’s face, but her voice was enough to tell she was over the moon.
Soon, they arrived at the Music Academy entrance.
Since they’d arranged this in advance, Lin Wan Ning was already waiting there.
When she saw Hu Yu Ying on her scooter, she hurried over, clutching a hot drink in her hands, and handed it out to Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue.
Her small hands were steaming hot, hugging the warm drink to Hu Yu Ying’s face, trying to warm her cheeks that had turned red from the cold wind.
After warming Hu Yu Ying, she did the same for Li Qing Xue.
Then the three of them looked at each other, grinning like idiots.
Li Qing Xue shifted her hips close behind Hu Yu Ying, leaving space for Lin Wan Ning to sit.
Luckily, they’re all pretty slim, so as Hu Yu Ying twisted the throttle, the three of them started giggling uncontrollably.
This drew some side-eyes from passersby—like, who are these giggly kids?
“Hey, stop laughing, you guys,” Hu Yu Ying whispered, worn out from their nonstop silliness.
“I don’t wanna, but I just can’t help it. Why is it so funny today?” Qing Xue pouted.
“I’m the same! And isn’t Big Sis also laughing happily?” Li Qing Xue said, eyes twinkling.
“It’s your giggles infecting me,” Hu Yu Ying replied, amused.
The three little troublemakers were having way too much fun, totally oblivious to a figure by the roadside reaching out a hand.
It was Long Ao Tian, raising his hand, about to call out—or at least try to—when he saw the three rocket past him on the scooter.
All words he had were stuck in his throat, shrinking into a grimace: “Am I invisible or something? Do I have ‘Stealth Mode’ turned on or what?”
Knowing Hu Yu Ying was coming to see Lin Wan Ning today, he had sprinted over right after training was over.
And what did they do? Just completely ignored him and sped past without a single glance.
Hu Yu Ying, after noticing from the rearview mirror, looked back and murmured, “I think I saw Bro Long… just now…” her voice uncertain.
“Really?” Li Qing Xue, caught between confusion and curiosity, looked around. “Wait, I didn’t see anyone. Was I hallucinating?”
“Big Sis, are you sure you didn’t see wrong? If he was here, I’d definitely see him,” Lin Wan Ning said confidently, basking in her own certainty.
Hu Yu Ying hesitated, thinking maybe she was mistaken—but hey, who’s counting?
All these little dramas were shrugged off after they ordered three bowls of claypot rice noodles. Add some sesame oil and chili, and their happiness skyrocketed.
But after leaving the restaurant, the real chaos began.
“Actually, Qing Xue ate the most just now!” Lin Wan Ning announced first.
Li Qing Xue immediately denied it: “Nonsense! You clearly drank several more sips of soup than me. I was paying attention—I saw it.”
Sitting at the back, Lin Wan Ning pinched Li Qing Xue’s cheek: “You caught me, huh? You really like me that much, huh? Even your meals got your eye on me…”
Li Qing Xue snorted like a princess, then reached behind to pinch Hu Yu Ying’s waist: “Ah Ying even ate a little cookie.”
Through the rearview mirror, Hu Yu Ying looked at Li Qing Xue and said, “Who put in too much sesame oil just now? Not only did you drink all the hot drink but also a bottle of soda?”
The three paused, silence falling over them. Li Qing Xue’s clever eyes sparkled mischievously as she whispered, “So, is the scooter still able to run?”
Hu Yu Ying twisted the throttle: “Yep.”
“Then maybe we should go home and settle our stomachs first?” Lin Wan Ning added with a smirk.
And who’s the first to burst out laughing? Probably all of them. In the end, laughter echoed as Hu Yu Ying led the two little ones back home.
Back at the courtyard, seeing the door open, the workers still busy with their chores, Hu Yu Ying parked the scooter and said to Li Qing Xue, “Remember I said I had something to tell you?”
Lin Wan Ning smiled at Li Qing Xue—those two clearly had a plan.
Faced with their smug faces and a stare full of “We got you,” Li Qing Xue hastily covered her chest, blushing. Were they really planning to drag her into Long Ao Tian’s circle? So exciting… but maybe a little too rushed?
“What are you thinking? You’re blushing already!” Lin Wan Ning poked Li Qing Xue’s cheek, giggling.
“Alright, alright, I won’t tease you anymore. Let’s go see,” Hu Yu Ying said, pushing the scooter into the yard, and the trio went into the main house.
Near one of the rooms, the workers were busy nearby.
Hu Yu Ying quietly asked, “Can we go in and take a look?”
The workers paused their work, sensing the curiosity.
Hu Yu Ying, Lin Wan Ning, and Li Qing Xue entered the room.
It was large, decorated with a mix of classical Chinese and modern trendy elements, still under renovation but clearly showing what the style would be.
Especially the two big windows—great lighting.
Most courtyard houses are quite dark, so lots of light here made it look bright and inviting.
“This room was pre-renovated. Once it’s finished, buy a bed, and you can just move in,” Hu Yu Ying said.
Li Qing Xue felt her heart tighten with emotion. She knew exactly why all this was happening.
“I don’t even know what to say anymore… hug…” she muttered, pouting cutely, eyes full of tears of happiness, arms wide open.
“Okay, okay, let’s go out first. The craftsmen still need to get back to work,” Hu Yu Ying said, smiling at her friends.
She gently pinched Li Qing Xue’s cheek, sharing a tender smile, all three of them basking in the warmth of their little adventure.
