Ye Liang Chen suddenly burst into laughter for no apparent reason.
Xue Shao Hua frowned, puzzled by Ye Liang Chen’s sudden happiness after they were just having a reasonable chat moments ago, so he hurriedly patted Ye Liang Chen’s thigh.
Snap back to reality, Ye Liang Chen looked dazedly at Xue Shao Hua, and it dawned on him that he was still in the café.
His attention instinctively shifted to Shen Meng Jie.
There she was, frowning like he’d just done a magic trick and failed miserably, staring at him as if he had sprouted a second head.
Ye Liang Chen quickly cleared his throat, “Sorry, just thought of something funny.”
Shen Meng Jie’s gaze flicked between Ye Liang Chen and Xue Shao Hua, examining them both closely.
Especially when she saw Ye Liang Chen gently patting Xue Shao Hua’s hand and teasingly scratching his palm, her mind began to spin with strange thoughts.
With her life experiences, she had seen her fair share of underhanded antics.
Something about the dynamic between Ye Liang Chen and Xue Shao Hua felt… off.
Xue Shao Hua seemed to notice Shen Meng Jie’s scrutinizing gaze and quickly withdrew his hand, clearing his throat awkwardly. “Don’t worry, our ultimate goal is just to punish that black-hearted scumbag, Dragon Brother. No matter how much of a dragon he thinks he is, we’ll make him squirm!”
“Exactly!” Ye Liang Chen said confidently, practically drooling at the thought. He had waited way too long for this day.
Just imagining making the face-saving Dragon Brother squirm beneath them had him all giddy.
The thrill even trumped the thought of having Little Girl squished beneath him.
Seeing the sheer excitement and determination in Ye Liang Chen’s eyes, Shen Meng Jie’s gaze flickered, and she chuckled lightly, “Well, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”
As she stood, stretching her body—it was an undeniable fact that she had confidence in her figure.
But what she saw next left her flabbergasted.
There was Ye Liang Chen, personally draping a scarf around Xue Shao Hua’s neck.
Xue Shao Hua, playing along, tugged on the scarf and said in a faux-adorable tone, “I’m a bit hot.”
“You’ll be cold outside, so behave,” Ye Liang Chen chuckled indulgently.
Shen Meng Jie felt utterly baffled but couldn’t deny the shock.
A peculiar thought popped into her head.
After pulling off this little stunt, Ye Liang Chen turned to Shen Meng Jie, tossing his hair back with a confident grin. “Don’t you worry, this time you can really shake off Dragon Brother’s pesky clinginess!”
Shen Meng Jie’s lips twitched, “That’s really great.”
At that moment, Xue Shao Hua released his earrings and flashed a subtle smile at Shen Meng Jie, tossing his hair just like Ye Liang Chen. Now that the plan had shifted, he felt free to let his charm flow.
He tilted his head at a sharp 45-degree angle, took a deep breath, and positioned his chiseled jawline just right for Shen Meng Jie.
Ye Liang Chen could only shake his head in resignation at Xue Shao Hua’s antics, muttering under his breath, “Such a troublemaker!”
Seeing Shen Meng Jie’s momentary daze, Xue Shao Hua felt more than satisfied; he loved this head-spinning effect he had on the ladies. “Sometimes, letting your true self out, not suppressing your feelings, makes life a lot happier.”
In Xue Shao Hua’s eyes, Shen Meng Jie actually had a crush on him but was too shy to admit her feelings—what a waste!
“Feelings need an outlet!”
Watching Ye Liang Chen and Xue Shao Hua walking away, Shen Meng Jie furrowed her brow tightly, feeling utterly perplexed.
“Did you see that? The moment I let my charm flow, Shen Meng Jie was utterly captivated!” Xue Shao Hua said with a smirk.
Previously, Ye Liang Chen would have argued about who had the bigger charm factor, but now, who cared? It’s all his anyway.
Suddenly, he caught sight of a hotel in the distance.
Ye Liang Chen quietly asked, “Aren’t you tired after all this walking?”
Some things they had done—though they definitely shouldn’t have—had been quite the experience, but actually bringing it up still felt a bit awkward. A silent understanding was just right.
Xue Shao Hua shook his head, “Not tired, this is just getting started!”
Ye Liang Chen cleared his throat, “Actually, I am a bit tired.”
With a quick glance at the hotel, he casually suggested, “Why don’t we stop in that hotel for a bit?”

Xue Shao Hua couldn’t help but realize what Ye Liang Chen was implying.
He bit his lip and innocently flicked his hair, “Well, I guess I’m kind of tired too.”
At this, Ye Liang Chen secretly cheered inside, especially when he saw Xue Shao Hua biting his lip, looking a tad shy—it gave him a thrill. But he pretended to be all serious and said, “Then let’s take a break.”
“Besides, it’s getting late. The dorm might even close by the time we get back.”
Xue Shao Hua shrugged casually, “Whatever works for me.”
Then he slyly glanced at Ye Liang Chen, only to catch him suppressing a grin.
Xue Shao Hua couldn’t help but let his lips curve upwards; since stepping into the world of men, he had been missing the excitement, especially at night, when he’d stare at his dorm mates—it was way too tantalizing.
Noticing Xue Shao Hua sneaking glances at him, Ye Liang Chen acted all carefree, as if he was totally innocent and just wanted to rest.
He and Xue Shao Hua strolled hand in hand into the hotel.
Shen Meng Jie couldn’t help but cover her mouth with her hand, eyes wide in shock, replaying their earlier words in the café.
A bizarre and utterly unacceptable thought popped into her head.
“They can’t possibly be thinking of getting it on with Dragon Brother, can they?”
“Oh, heavens!” Shen Meng Jie couldn’t help but curse; if she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, she’d think it was pure fantasy.
When did these two take it this far? Just a while ago they were practically jealous because of her…
