Teaching the Female Lead to Be Thick-Skinned, Not Shameless – Chapter 379

Chapter 379: You Need to Learn to Control Yourself!

Dragon Brother was wrestling with his guilty conscience, half-asleep, when his eyelids felt like they had been glued shut. Just then, he heard a door creaking open.

In a flash, he snapped awake, eying the door with fervent anticipation.

Finally, the door swung open, revealing Lin Wan Ning wrapped in a coat, shivering as she tussled with her half-dried hair. Fresh out of the shower, her skin looked softer and paler than usual.

Upon entering, she spotted her brother curled up in the corner of the bed, with red-rimmed eyes staring blankly at her.

Seeing him like that, Lin Wan Ning gasped for a moment, “Big Brother, you, you’ve been crying?”

She took a couple of steps forward, peering closely to confirm that yes, he indeed had shed tears.

“Where are they?” Dragon Brother asked, noting that it was only Lin Wan Ning who returned. He was dying to know Hu Yu Ying’s feelings towards him, not to mention Li Qing Xue’s current state.

“Brother, you really crossed the line this time. Qing Xue’s eyes are all puffy from crying.” She glanced slyly at him and noticed that he looked completely shattered, as if all of his energy had been zapped away in an instant.

Trying hard not to chuckle, she continued, “And then there’s older sister—she’s truly disappointed in you this time.”

Thud!

At that, Dragon Brother fell straight back onto the bed, mumbling “It’s over… it’s over…” in despair.

Seeing this, Lin Wan Ning couldn’t help but smirk. She pivoted the conversation, “But…”

Dragon Brother perked up, eager for any sign of hope. He propped himself back up on the bed, “But what?”

Lin Wan Ning slowly approached, reaching out to free his restrained hands. Her fingers danced lightly along his spine, “But if you can make Wan Ning happy, maybe I can help you smooth things over a bit, you know?”

Dragon Brother murmured, “Wan Ning, let’s not think about that right now. Help me out, please! You know I didn’t mean it.”

Once freed, Dragon Brother instinctively shot up, ready to search for Hu Yu Ying.

“She’s mad and hasn’t come back home. You won’t find her,” Lin Wan Ning said, turning away with a hint of annoyance in her cool voice. “Hmph! I finally got older sister to agree, and you were supposed to spend all your time with me today.”

“And even if I know you didn’t mean it, what good does that do?”

“Can’t exactly play the queen. If I speak up for you, I might just end up getting on older sister’s bad side… what do you think, big brother?”

Dragon Brother was at a loss. The last time he tried to confess to Ah Ying, Wan Ning insisted on playing the queen like in the movies, and when he refused, she had been sulking about it ever since.

He sighed heavily, picking up the black silk that Wan Ning had untethered. He tied one hand up again and secured the other end to the headboard. There was no choice—right now, she was the only one who could help him sort this mess out.

Dragon Brother mentally noted to settle the score with Wan Ning later.

“Your Highness the Queen.”

Seeing her brother like that, Lin Wan Ning removed another piece of silk, tying him down, looking majestically over him as she raised a leg to rest on his chest, “Now call me Your Highness the Queen again.”

“Wan Ning, don’t overdo it! There are times when I’m still on top!”

Immediately, Wan Ning deflated a bit, seemingly aware of how strong Dragon Brother actually was. After all, he had the physique of an athlete and his idea of ‘light’ always left red marks on her.

“Okay, okay, here comes Your Highness the Queen!”

And off they went to the whimsical clouds…

“Honestly, older sister really treats you exceptionally well.” Lin Wan Ning said gently.

Dragon Brother bowed his head in shame upon hearing this. His nose tinged with a hint of regret for the little girl.

Though he was passively involved in Wan Ning’s situation, he still felt he had wronged her.

She was sad too, but she still chose to forgive him.

Everything was supposed to be getting better, and yet he went and disappointed her again.

And now look—a bunch of his close ones had been hurt; he had truly messed up with everyone, as she had pointed out…

Watching her brother redden at the eyes, Lin Wan Ning felt a twinge of guilt. After knowing him for so long, the only time she’d seen this strong man crack was over Hu Yu Ying.

Sometimes, it made her feel a bit sorry for him.

She and Qing Xue often relied on his trust and obliviousness to bully him…

“Brother, Ah Ying is in Room 9.”

“But don’t go looking for her yet; Qing Xue might already be asleep.”

Upon hearing this, Dragon Brother abandoned his impulse to find Hu Yu Ying, realizing he didn’t quite know how to face her anyway…

After hurting Qing Xue, she must be wishing for nothing more than to stomp on him…

Lin Wan Ning continued, “Older sister truly considers us family.”

“She cares for you a lot, but you, big brother, are just a colossal clueless dude…”

“You know why she accepted me, right?”

Without waiting for him to guess, Lin Wan Ning bluntly revealed, “One, she felt sorry for me. Two, I could prove that my feelings for you were stronger than my feelings for myself. And three, it was you.”

“During a passionate moment, you simply couldn’t help but develop feelings for me. Older sister isn’t dumb—she can pick up on that.”

“She accepted me because, in her words, you’re like a great hulking bull who’s always in heat, ready to tackle the next ‘event’ at a moment’s notice.”

“And you always go for hours! Can you blame her? She can barely take it, but when you’re in need, she can’t bring herself to turn you down.”

“Even when she sometimes does say no, your cutesy antics and clinginess always break her resolve…”

Dragon Brother fell silent at this.

“I know you really like her, and you think, ‘Every time I can bring her joy, of course she’s going to love that!’”

“She does like you, and she loves the joy you bring her, but her body cannot keep up!”

“You have to learn to control yourself sometimes!”

Dragon Brother nodded, taking the lesson to heart. Honestly, he hadn’t considered things that way. Eight hours, six hours; at the very least, it was four hours.

He always felt proud of himself for having the stamina to deliver joy to Ah Ying, completely oblivious to what she might have been feeling.

If she claimed she would change, but always compromised because she couldn’t bear to reject him, or due to his persistence, it only led her to more compromises…

This precious little girl, and yet he had repeatedly disappointed her—he truly ought to be ashamed…

As the villainous male supporting character, Long Aotian not only has to bully the female lead, harass the second female lead, and flirt with the third female lead, but he also has to go all out to antagonize the male lead. In the end, when his body is discovered, he is still clutching half a moldy fried dough stick in his hand. Fully aware of the plot, Long Aotian is determined to change his fate, starting with the female lead! In the beginning, the female lead lacks confidence: “Big brother, I hope I didn’t scare you?” In the middle, the female lead treads carefully: “Brother Long, please don’t hit me, okay?” Later on, the female lead becomes coquettishly clingy: “Aotian, it’s time to pay the ‘public grain’ tonight.” Long Aotian’s legs go weak, and he feels like crying: “I taught you to be thick-skinned, not shameless!”
