Chapter 387: Dragon Brother Is Such a Foodie
Slowly pulling apart, Lin Wan Ning eyed the red mark on Hu Yu Ying’s lips and couldn’t resist grabbing her lipstick to wipe away the excess. “Sister’s lips smell so good.”
Hu Yu Ying lightly pursed her red lips. “Who puts on lipstick like you do?”
Kissing girls—it’s a whole different vibe.
Soft, fragrant, and oh so tempting…
“Ah, don’t sweat the small stuff, sister. Let’s go quick. Big brother and Qing Xue must be waiting and getting impatient,” Lin Wan Ning pleaded, grabbing Hu Yu Ying’s hand with that adorable “puppy dog” look.
Hu Yu Ying looked at her with amused eyes. “Girl, I’m noticing you’re getting more naughty every day.”
They returned to the main courtyard’s living room for a quick glance around.
In just a few days, that bedroom they kept reserved was all shiny and ready—windows, door, all installed.
If they weren’t in a rush, they could decorate it a bit.
But if they needed to move in today, just buy a bed, and bam—good to go.
“I love you so much, sister. Let’s sleep together tonight,” Lin Wan Ning said eagerly as she hugged Hu Yu Ying.
Laughing, Hu Yu Ying replied with a smile, “Alright, why don’t we skip going back at all and just sleep here? Tomorrow, we can wake up and make dumplings together.”
“Mm~ I just wanna laze around,” Lin Wan Ning yawned.
“Lazy today? Preliminaries are coming up soon, aren’t they? Better get serious with training,” Hu Yu Ying reminded her.
The happy girl’s competition is knockout style: regional qualifiers first, then a few winners get to join the “Happy Girl” show on TV, facing the whole country.
“Don’t worry, sister! I love music, and I love singing even more. I’ve got this,” Lin Wan Ning said seriously.
Originally, her family didn’t really want her to keep going to university—they thought music colleges were third-rate and useless.
But she scored her spot by her own effort, using a self-written song that earned her a scholarship—breaking all their expectations.
To them, as long as she wasn’t spending their money, she could do whatever she wanted.
So, when it comes to music, Lin Wan Ning is bursting with pride and confidence.
“I believe in you. We all believe in you. Maybe one day, Wan Ning will be a superstar,” Hu Yu Ying encouraged softly.
“Oh stop, that’s too much,” Lin Wan Ning grinned happily. “First, I’ll pass the preliminaries—then I’ll be on Happy Voice!”
“If you pass, I’ll treat you to a big feast,” little rager Hu Yu Ying promised, patting her chest confidently.
Laughing, they left the courtyard together.
…
“Dragon Brother, I want ice cream,” Li Qing Xue suddenly stopped in her tracks after spotting the frosty treat while holding Dragon Brother’s hand.
The mall was heated with central air—over time, it still felt kinda warm.
Dragon Brother took a glance at the ice cream and then at Li Qing Xue. “Nope. Too cold. Can’t eat that.”
“But I want it,” Li Qing Xue’s feet planted firmly like roots, standing her ground despite Dragon Brother tugging. She didn’t budge.
“You’ll get a stomach ache!”
“Don’t treat me like a kid, I won’t get sick.”
Seeing Dragon Brother wasn’t giving in and trying to drag her away, Li Qing Xue looked all pitiful and complained, “Last night, you made me so sore.”
Hearing that, Dragon Brother immediately turned. “Fine, let’s buy it now!”
She licked her ice cream and cast a sidelong glance at Dragon Brother. “You just can’t help yourself, can you?”
Dragon Brother coughed awkwardly. “Hurry up and eat. Don’t let Ah Ying and the others see—if they do, they’ll want some too.”
“We girls aren’t as delicate as you think,” Li Qing Xue puffed.
Then she approached Dragon Brother, unzipping his jacket. “Is your coat super expensive? You’re sweaty, but you’re still not willing to unzip?”
She took out a tissue from her pocket and tiptoed to wipe his sweat.
“Want some? I can give you a bite.”
All her words sounded dismissive, yet inside, she was thrilled.
Dragon Brother gobbled up the entire ice cream in one gulp. Li Qing Xue stared blankly, then looked at her cone. “Long, Ao, Tian…”
“You shouldn’t eat so much cold stuff, just taste a little,” Dragon Brother sighed through a chilly breath, mumbled.
It’s not about girls being tough or fragile. Women are naturally more susceptible to cold. Better to eat less of this chilly stuff, especially in this weather.
They were still inside the mall—if they stepped out, she’d probably freeze again!
“You’re a pig, devouring a whole cone like that.”
“No way, see? There’s still some in the cone,” Li Qing Xue argued.
“Just a tiny bit,” she added with a pout.
Hu Yu Ying and Lin Wan Ning just happened to arrive as Li Qing Xue was frowning at Dragon Brother’s “greed.”
Seeing Dragon Brother looking so helpless but not daring to scold, Hu Yu Ying and Lin Wan Ning exchanged amused glances and headed over.
Li Qing Xue immediately began to complain about him.
After hearing everything, Hu Yu Ying patted Dragon Brother’s arm with a teasing smile. “Such a foodie.”
Then she turned to console Qing Xue. “Let’s not bother with this foodie.”
Watching Hu Yu Ying effortlessly calm Qing Xue, Dragon Brother felt like the household was falling apart without the Little Girl.
He sighed internally—since Wan Ning, his position in the family was plummeting fast.
Once, he could say a word, and they’d listen. Now… sigh…
He watched the three little ones walk away and reluctantly sprinted after them.
Hu Yu Ying kept her eye on her big bro. Seeing him follow, she smiled and headed upstairs.
They’d been to this mall several times—what started as shy timid visits had now become confident, bringing Dragon Brother to the men’s section.
Dragon Brother’s mood warmed. Turns out, he’s quite cared for.
Thinking back, since arriving in the capital, everything he wore and stepped in was bought for him by the three little angels.
What more does he need?
One of the little ones picked out a thick coat for him.
Three outfits, all different styles—he looked good in them all, and he felt genuinely happy.
Seeing Dragon Brother pretending to be indifferent, the three girls didn’t want to say much more.
Are men all the same?
Open their wallets unstintingly when buying stuff for themselves, don’t blink at the expensive bed, and when shopping for fashionable clothes, it’s like they’d empty the entire factory.
But now that they’re buying him clothes, suddenly they’re penny-pinching? Everything in the mall seems unworthy—nothing catches his eye.
Once he finally gets the clothes in hand and his lips can’t hide the grin, he still stubbornly claims, “It’s just… okay…”
Heh heh…
