## Chapter 169: So I Really Became a Doctor
Lu Liangting was burdened with heavy thoughts, his face as pale as a ghost.
He hadn’t had a decent rest in ages. Over the past few days, his average sleep time barely crossed three hours, all for one purpose—tracking down the Sky Fox.
Any business involving the Sky Fox was sure to be related to the White Day Amusement Park, so for the past few days, he had practically been running around that park instead of actually finding the Sky Fox.
But all his hard work wasn’t entirely in vain; he had gathered a fair amount of information about the White Day Amusement Park, and he’d also traced the rough movements and intentions of the Sky Fox.
The reason he hadn’t found the Sky Fox in that time was because the crafty creature had no fixed roaming area.
Every day, it appeared in completely different places, like a predatory cat eyeing potential “visitors” for the amusement park. Anyone targeted by her would receive a ticket, and as long as it wasn’t discarded that night, they would surely dream their way into the park.
At first, he thought the Sky Fox was up to no good, but investigations revealed that she had been doing this for weeks, and anyone she targeted was still able to wake up from their dreams.
However, starting last week, anyone who entered the dream realm simply did not come back out. Forever lost in their dreams. The longest anyone had been trapped was five days, and even when taken to the hospital, they showed no real issues—just ordinary deep sleep. But nothing worked to wake them up, no matter the method.
Lu Liangting knew something must have gone wrong in the amusement park since that day.
Currently, there were forty-eight people known to have entered the park and not awakened. The situation had circulated widely in society, and reports stated that the park’s tickets had been tampered with, so no one had yet traced this oddity back to its source.
“Wait.”
As Lu Liangting made his way through a patch of weeds into the amusement park’s domain, Zhizi suddenly grabbed his wrist.
“There are people ahead.”
Zhizi stepped a few paces in front of Lu Liangting. When she caught sight of an area outside the amusement park’s entrance, her breath hitched.
More than ten people had arrived before her and Lu Liangting, and just from their vibe, it was clear they were anything but ordinary.
Their identities were all too apparent.
They were all women, and aside from her and Lu Liangting, he was the only man around.
A man with over a dozen girls.
In any other scenario, this might be considered a lucky day for him.
But not here.
None of the people there were under Lu Liangting’s control; likely, their conversations would revolve around how to carve up Lu Liangting’s portion and how successfully they could complete their task.
“Mingyue, Shen Shuyun, and those girls?”
Scanning the crowd, the majority of these ten-plus girls were “familiar faces.” Some left a deep impression on him—like those who had rescued him in Eternal Life Village, those who stalked him at his doorstep, and one who had slipped him a love letter, while the girl at the back had once nearly run him over on her motorcycle.
“Don’t go over!”
Shen Shuyun’s face turned pale, her anxiety palpable.
Zhao Mingyue’s presence meant the doctor was around.
If her eyes weren’t deceiving her, the one sitting at the entrance was the Dragon Lady.
The first, the third, and the fifth of the amusement park, and there was even a ninth among the crowd—each one formidable.
She pondered a question.
With so many game participants, it should have been complete chaos.
Yet, why was this group of generally unruly maniacs so eerily silent together?
The answer was simple; there must be something even crazier and stronger than them present.
This person had to command “respect,” meaning that anyone present had to comply, and even together they might not stand a chance.
They might be able to fight if combined, but it wouldn’t be worth it, not to mention they wouldn’t trust each other.
Zhizi’s gaze fell upon the kn*fe near the Dragon Lady’s thigh and the nearby corpse—an uncomfortably obvious conclusion began to form in her mind.
If she wasn’t mistaken, the kn*fe by the Dragon Lady was the doctor’s weapon.
The Dragon Lady couldn’t have killed the doctor; otherwise, it wouldn’t be so quiet.
On the contrary, her look was almost identical to that of the doctor.
Wait, could it be possible that this was the “real” doctor?
Casting a glance at the corpse on the ground, Zhizi gasped: this was the tenth-ranked Osika, a mostly defensive fighter whose strength was formidable. Many claimed he could rank fourth or fifth, but due to his defensive nature, his battle record was bland.
A solid top-ten guy like him was dead, with barely a trace of a fight.
This implied he was eliminated in one hit.
If he had put up a struggle, there would at least be some signs, maybe he could even drag onlookers into it.
Zhizi faced two paths.
Either drag Lu Liangting away immediately and give up on finding her sister.
Or, take a risky gamble and possibly face d*ath.
She refused to believe this bunch of lunatics had gathered just to pass the time!
Just as Zhizi hesitated, Lu Liangting grabbed her wrist from behind.
She turned back to lock eyes with him just in time to see him nod, then purposefully make his way towards Bai Yu.
Rose, he had to save her!
“Whoa, sweet sparkly eyes! I say, isn’t it a bit inappropriate to send those glittery glances with so many of us around?” someone from the crowd piped up, his voice barely hiding explosive anger. “I just want to rip your eyeballs out!”
“Then come and try, I bet your parents didn’t bother to raise you after they dropped you off!” Lu Liangting shot back, already grumpy, not holding back in the least.
“You… you got guts!” The red-haired girl didn’t retaliate further, not wanting to turn her already low approval rating into a negative one.
“If you can’t show some respect, just shut your mouth.”
The atmosphere went dead silent. Zhizi could see a few people clearly chewing on their lips, likely itching to make a move. If it weren’t for Lu Liangting’s identity, fear of turning him into a national enemy for killing him might have already pushed someone over the edge.
Lu Liangting planned to go sit with Zhao Mingyue, glanced over at Bai Yu at the entrance again, unfazed, and turned to leave.
He wanted to ask Zhao Mingyue what Bai Yu had been looking for him about last time, but sadly he had been too busy to reply during this period.
Suddenly, he was yanked backward!
bl**d Thread shot up from the ground, coiling around Lu Liangting’s neck, yanking him through the air and landing him gracefully in front of Bai Yu.
Bai Yu was perched on a bl**d Thread-made bench, looking down at Lu Liangting.
“I’m Bai Yu. Give all the information you’ve gathered about the White Day Amusement Park to Zhao Mingyue.”
Lu Liangting had initially planned to get physical, but hearing Bai Yu’s voice left him momentarily stunned.
“Bai Yu?”
“Yes.”
“Then you…”
“Enough chitchat. Get going. You have fifteen minutes. After fifteen minutes, don’t even think about it.” Bai Yu stood up, the bl**d Thread bench disappearing, and she grabbed her long kn*fe without caring for Lu Liangting’s reaction, moving towards the center.
“Fifteen minutes, I’ll share some news, but in return, you all must leave here tonight.”
“Deal.” Shen Shuyun replied from behind, stepping up beside Bai Yu.
This was a rare moment witnessing the maniacs act so obediently.
Looking at them now, they didn’t seem that crazy. Real lunatics wouldn’t stay here listening to you ramble. Who do you think you are? If they were displeased, there would be a fight; a real fight like the one still stretched out on the ground.
Upon arriving here, the first thing to do was to brush off Bai Yu, deciding to test how real it was, only to have their heart ripped out with a punch and their throat slit with a kn*fe. And after all this time, the guy on the ground hadn’t managed to utter a single word, just displaying one thing—tough!
She had just mentioned they weren’t crazy enough, when Osika was literally owning it, laying there without a peep, not giving up.
“I somewhat get the gist of this. Since you’ve waited anyway, what’s the hurry? It’s kind of boring to leave now, let’s stick around a bit more. We’ll all leave together afterward; it’ll be way more lively on the way out.”
Shen Shuyun smiled sweetly as someone from the crowd started to curse.
Ignoring the outburst, she stepped forward too.
Fifteen minutes passed quickly. As time was up, Bai Yu shot Zhao Mingyue a glance, who nodded knowingly, taking a deep breath and walked into the amusement park with Lu Liangting, ticket in hand.
Lu Liangting wanted to wait for Zhizi, but she smartly pounded his head, giving him a nice bump.
“If you don’t leave now, Bai Yu might not let you go later.” Zhao Mingyue said sternly.
Once the two had disappeared into the park, Bai Yu finally spoke.
“I know why you’re here, but you’re being duped. This task is real, but it’s not yours.”
“You all likely know that this world isn’t normal; some people find their own memories at the task locations.”
“I’m telling you plainly, it’s not just a select few, but everyone has the chance.”
The moment she said this, several faces shifted. They knew about this and had speculated whether everyone could find such a place, but every attempt had ended in failure.
Then Bai Yu dropped the bomb.
“Among you, there are definitely some who have found such places, triggering a task called Redemption, but the mission prompt is missing a Redemption Executor, right?”
“As long as you complete the Redemption task, you’ll achieve your goal for being here. The White Day Amusement Park is not your domain.”
“If you want to try this task, you can find me afterward.”
“Because, I am the Redemption Executor.”
Beside her, Shen Shuyun wanted to facepalm. What in the world was this?
Give hope and then snuff it out?
You think anyone would dare come to find a Redemption Executor like you?
