### Chapter 307: The War Between Incestuous Brothers
The world returned to its usual state, the sound of a variety show drifting into the air as the Dragon Lady slowly opened her eyes.
Nothing had changed; she wasn’t hurt, no negative status effects, and even the little bear cookies on the table were intact. But she knew that what had just happened was definitely not a figment of her imagination.
The words of the Nightmare echoed in her mind, and Dragon Lady glanced at the concerned Jiang Yutong beside her, then shifted her gaze to the empty sofa in front of her.
“I just got a bit tired and dozed off, don’t worry,” she said, rubbing her forehead with a slightly fatigued voice. “Where’s your sister?”
“Oh, she went to the kitchen just now. She even asked me to go upstairs to get a blanket for you. I was about to go when you woke up,” Jiang Yutong said, blinking her eyes. She definitely wouldn’t mention how she poked Dragon Lady’s face while she was sleeping.
“It’s fine, just a quick nap.” Dragon Lady casually grabbed a little bear cookie made by the Nightmare and popped it into her mouth. Not gonna lie, it tasted pretty good.
Looking toward the kitchen, she could indeed see Jiang Qingzhou busy inside, seemingly washing the leftover dishes from dinner, wearing an apron and rubber gloves.
If you just look at her, it’s truly confusing.
Previously, Dragon Lady would’ve thought she was just putting on a show, wearing a good disguise.
But now, she didn’t think that way anymore; she couldn’t tell whether the current version of the Nightmare was the real her, or if the version in the sc*m Game was the real her.
This family was indeed the Nightmare’s past home, and Jiang Yutong was her real sister.
It was precisely because of this that she wanted to stay in this world forever, and she’d do anything to make that happen.
No wonder she hadn’t noticed anything strange these past few days.
The Nightmare didn’t need any disguise; she was the same as she had always been at home, so there was naturally no flaw.
Dragon Lady stood up, grabbing her things. “I’ll head back now, teacher’s gotta rest up.”
“Ah, teacher, are you sure? If not, you can stay tonight! We have an empty room at home, and if it comes down to it, we can squeeze together… um, I could squeeze with my sister too, but I’d have to go tell her first,” Jiang Yutong said, holding onto Dragon Lady’s hand stubbornly. Dragon Lady could only feel a bit helpless looking at her.
“It’s fine, my house is also in this neighborhood, just a few steps away.”
“Oh, okay then.”
Hearing Dragon Lady say that, Jiang Yutong clearly looked disappointed. She really wanted to share a bed with Dragon Lady, just like her desire to stay overnight at a friend’s house, but her family had always disagreed.
In the little girl’s reluctant gaze, Dragon Lady once again turned down her idea of escorting her back home.
Walking down the quiet street outside, Dragon Lady scanned her surroundings and finally chose a barbecue place to sit down.
She carried a whole box of beer, popped a bottle open with her thumb, and tilted it back to drink straight from the bottle.
She actually liked to drink when she had worries; it dulled her senses with alcohol.
Unfortunately, alcohol had limited effects on her body. No matter how much she drank, she only ever achieved a light buzz unless she deliberately held back. But as soon as she relaxed, the effect vanished in an instant.
She pondered over what the Nightmare had said to her today.
It was indeed true that only one person could stay in this world; there was no doubt about that.
And it was clear that the Nightmare really wanted to team up; otherwise, she wouldn’t have revealed her family background.
Back when they were at her house, what she said was likely a test to see how Dragon Lady felt about Jiang Yutong.
If there was even a hint of hesitation, the cooperation probably wouldn’t have happened. It would’ve been a fight to the d*ath, right?
The Nightmare couldn’t afford to leave someone who posed a threat to her family.
“Choosing is certainly the hardest test,” she concluded after downing several bottles of beer, leaving the passersby and the owner dumbfounded.
Thinking carefully, the Nightmare wasn’t wrong. Ultimately, only one person could remain; she felt she couldn’t transform herself into a saint and unconditionally leave this precious spot to Bai Yu.
Who doesn’t want to stick around with their sister? Who isn’t a bit of a sis-con?
After finally reuniting with that annoying Zhao Mingyue, how could she just leave?
“Whatever, I’ll figure it out later. Worst case, I can fight Bai Yu; whoever loses gets kicked out, and the winner stays to take care of that annoying girl.”
“Anyway, I absolutely cannot let that Nightmare succeed.”
“Wanting to collaborate with me? She really thinks it through; does she genuinely believe that just because everyone has a sister complex, we can all be on the same side?”
“Why doesn’t she find Bai Yu to team up with? She’s also a sis-con.”
Dragon Lady muttered to herself; to her, it seemed like the Nightmare didn’t understand her enough.
If forced to choose between Bai Yu and Zhao Mingyue, she’d obviously want both; she’d deal with future issues when they arose.
With that thought in mind, Dragon Lady pulled out her phone to send a message to Zhao Mingyue, summarizing the day’s events and especially emphasizing the information provided by the Nightmare, which was the most crucial part.
She was also wondering if there really was no way for both her and Bai Yu to remain.
As the saying goes, there’s always a way up the mountain.

Meanwhile, outside a certain carnival haunted house.
Zhao Mingyue wiped away nonexistent sweat from her forehead, chuckling, “If the perfect score is ten, how many points would you give this haunted house, Bai Yu?”
“Three points,” Bai Yu said, crossing her arms and looking at the lively scene ahead, feeling somewhat helpless.
She didn’t really care for places like this; too many people. If an enemy were to blend into the crowd during this uproar, it would be hard to guard against.
Also, she was so done with the clueless men wandering around.
Having spent less than three hours inside with Zhao Mingyue, about ten guys had approached her and Zhao Mingyue for their contact information.
Okay, asking Zhao Mingyue is one thing; at least she’s a seventeen or eighteen-year-old high school student.
But why in the world are they asking for MY contact information?
I look like I’m how old? Maybe fifteen? And here’s a bunch of men in their twenties asking me for my number? Despicable!
“Ah, why?” Zhao Mingyue blinked, “I think the atmosphere inside is pretty good! Except for some props feeling a bit fake, the storyline and vibe are quite nice.”
“Oh, I get it; you’re complaining that there aren’t any real ghosts in there, huh?” Zhao Mingyue nodded thoughtfully. “That’s true, without real ghosts, can we really call it a haunted house?”
Just then, her phone in her pocket buzzed, vibrating for her attention. She opened it to find a message from Dragon Lady. The first line read, “Jealousy jar, the following message is for Bai Yu, a very, very important matter.”
Zhao Mingyue gave it a quick scan, unable to grasp what Dragon Lady was talking about. Clearly, it was encrypted so she wouldn’t understand.
“It’s a message from that annoying Dragon Lady; it says it can only be for you to see.” Zhao Mingyue handed the phone to Bai Yu, eagerly waiting for Bai Yu to decode it.
She didn’t understand it, but Bai Yu could! She was genuinely curious about what could be so mysterious that it had to be kept from her.
Bai Yu took one look at the message Dragon Lady sent and immediately grasped her intentions; the codenames were primarily to keep Zhao Mingyue in the dark about the sc*m Game.
After reading, Bai Yu’s expression shifted, and she quickly deleted the message and sent a reply.
She might not be able to return in seven days; she’d let Dragon Lady come straight to her, and they could discuss matters face to face.
She truly hadn’t expected the Nightmare’s objective to be this.
It couldn’t be said to be completely unreasonable; she just hadn’t anticipated the Nightmare was doing it for this reason.
If she wasn’t mistaken, it should be because Dragon Lady was tutoring the Nightmare’s sister and got caught by the Nightmare. This was probably just a coincidence, resulting in the Nightmare testing Dragon Lady little by little, leading to today’s plan.
For the Nightmare, this kind of test was extremely necessary.
If successful, it wouldn’t just turn peril into safety concerning her family; it would also bring in a strong ally. If not, well, at least she’d confirmed that Dragon Lady wouldn’t make a move against her family.
Whatever happened to her was irrelevant; it could be a d*ath-or-life struggle, but family definitely couldn’t be involved.
And if the plan was exposed, it changed nothing; what needed to be done still had to be done.
Whether or not she understood her plan didn’t matter; it wouldn’t impact the Nightmare in any way.
The only aspect to exploit was to use this information from the Nightmare to warn other game participants, not expecting them to unite to take down the Nightmare, but just hoping they wouldn’t collaborate with her.
“What did Dragon Lady say?” Zhao Mingyue tried to decipher what Bai Yu was thinking from her expression and eyes, but alas, she could read nothing.
“The Nightmare wants to collaborate with Dragon Lady to take me out; she’s offered Dragon Lady a very tempting condition.”
“Ah!?” Zhao Mingyue’s voice involuntarily shot up at hearing Bai Yu’s words.
“W-Wait! Did she agree?!”
On the surface, she acted indifferent toward Dragon Lady, but deep down, she actually liked her a lot. If possible, she didn’t want to see her at odds with Bai Yu.
“No, I told her to come over when she has a chance, and we’ll talk face to face. She agreed,” Bai Yu returned Zhao Mingyue’s phone, glancing at her.
At that moment, Zhao Mingyue hadn’t realized anything was wrong; she merely sighed with relief internally.
“It’s good she didn’t agree. But why would the Nightmare suddenly reach out to her? Didn’t they already know each other? I remember you and Dragon Lady didn’t have a good relationship before.”
“Dragon Lady’s been tutoring someone else, and that student is the Nightmare’s sister.”
As soon as those words came out, Zhao Mingyue froze for a moment; that was a bit too coincidental, wasn’t it?
“Then isn’t Dragon Lady in danger now?”
“Not for now.”
Saying this, Bai Yu suddenly reached out and gently pressed her fingers on the corner of Zhao Mingyue’s mouth, wiping away a bit of ice cream residue in her confusion.
After one last lingering gaze at Zhao Mingyue, Bai Yu turned and walked away.
“We might not have time to play in the coming days. We need to speed things up.”
