Chapter 328: Revisiting Old Grounds
Last time, two Evil Gods were let loose, and who knows where those troublemakers have run off to by now! Without the constraints of the former village, the whole world is just a playground for these two mischief-makers. Who knows, they might have gathered another batch of followers somewhere!
Bai Yu isn’t too optimistic about finding them, but locating the Ghost Gate in Eternal Life Village shouldn’t be too tricky.
With Zhao Mingyue along, searching for the Ghost Gate becomes significantly easier.
In the back seat, Zhao Mingyue gazes out the window, lost in thought. It’s clear she hasn’t really let go of Eternal Life Village.
Her memories of this place are nothing but painful. Those callbacks won’t just vanish because Bai Yu is there or because the village has been wiped off the map—they’ll only lessen, making things feel a tad less terrifying.
“What’s on your mind? Missing home?” the Dragon Lady glances at Zhao Mingyue through the rearview mirror.
“But I bet there’s no one at home now. Not that I’m throwing shade at you—it’s just that the situation in Eternal Life Village is pretty gnarly, especially in the back village where no living souls are left, except for us who managed to escape.”
“Yeah, I do want to see home again, but honestly, why? It’s just a few old, empty houses. The real importance isn’t the houses but the people who used to live in them,” Zhao Mingyue sighs. “Too bad they’re all gone.”
“No ghosts left, so I guess I’ll never see them again in this lifetime.”
The Dragon Lady’s eyes flicker. “Didn’t you mention wanting to find your sister someday? She should still be alive, right? Imagine reuniting, going home together, and visiting your parents’ graves. Wouldn’t that be nice?”
“I doubt my sister is still alive. She got mixed up with those Evil Gods. After all this time, she probably didn’t make it.”
For regular folks, Evil Gods are every bit as divine as their names imply. Sure, Bai Yu seems to have taken down a few, but those are just highlights of a one-woman show. Regular people don’t even get a chance to run away when facing an Evil God!
But to the Dragon Lady, this line sounded different.
It seems this girl really values romance over sisterhood! When Bai Yu wasn’t around, she’d be all about finding her sister, but now that he’s in the picture, who cares about sisterly love anymore!
“I believe your sister is still alive. I have a really good intuition, trust me; she’s definitely out there somewhere! You don’t even have to look for her; she might just pop up out of nowhere to surprise you, and she’ll be so proud of who you are now!” The Dragon Lady’s tone is unusually serious and gentle.
Anyone who knows her would hear the bells ringing; Bai Yu shot a glance at her, raising an eyebrow.
Zhao Mingyue, however, is a bit oblivious and thinks the Dragon Lady is just being sweet. “Thanks, I’ll take your words as good luck.”
The Dragon Lady raises an eyebrow at Bai Yu, saying without words that she knows her sister best, and this girl can’t pick up on the hints.
The car pulls up at the front village, and the three of them hop out.
This time, Bai Yu brought along her embryonic body to lure the two Godmothers out. If that works, it’ll cut down on a lot of hassle.
Last time, these two were a bit mum; this time, if they meet, they’re bound to cooperate wonderfully.
Evil Gods aren’t total dimwits. They don’t exactly want to bite the dust without a clue; sometimes a little acknowledgment of the odds is necessary.
“Wow, what a huge change!” Zhao Mingyue shades her eyes, looking out towards the village. The weather’s nice, and the foggy gloom that usually hangs over the village is gone, making it feel a lot cleaner.
“Last time Bai Yu and I were here, we ran into a bunch of people carrying an Evil Ghost for a burial. It was terrifying!”
“Seriously, it’s no wonder these Evil Gods are causing chaos in Eternal Life Village; they’re just trying to squeeze out as much faith as they can!”
“Of course! That’s how Evil Gods survive,” the Dragon Lady remarks as she strolls into the village, glancing around. “Not everyone has it as easy as your Bai Yu when it comes to getting faith, you know. Plus, these four Evil Gods are stuck in this tiny space; competition is fierce!”
“Wow, the Store Manager’s master must be something else! Way tougher than anyone we’ve met!”
Back when they first visited the front village, they had no clue about its significance. Now, the more they learn, the more impressed they are.
A tiny village managed to keep four powerful Evil Gods in check for over a century—that’s just mind-blowing!
And look at the current Gatekeeper and the Tianfa Sect—both organizations seem like a bunch of goofballs.
With resources flooding in, they’re off chasing pleasure and dabbling in shady practices.
If they were to handle those four Evil Gods, they’d probably soil their pants!
At that time, the grandmaster was just a regular guy, yet he accomplished this feat.
“Yeah, pretty impressive. That old man was just an ordinary fellow, at least when it came to physical abilities. But rumor has it he lived around two hundred years before kicking the bucket. If he’d stuck around, we wouldn’t have these Gatekeepers now.”
“So your Store Manager might be at risk. That old dude probably passed down all his knowledge to him before he died, and he’s hiding it well.”
They chatted and laughed as they crossed through the front village and headed towards the back mountains.
Zhao Mingyue wasn’t scared anymore—just a bit nostalgic. Who would have thought she’d ever come back here?
When she escaped, she didn’t understand anything; now she returns as a completely different person.
Along the way, the Dragon Lady shared stories about what happened the last time she and Bai Yu came around.
“By the way, I keep forgetting to ask, why do they call you Dragon Lady? Who named you that? Does it have anything to do with your powers? Did you get your powers in Eternal Life Village?” Zhao Mingyue tilted her head. Last time, Bai Yu said her name was simply Dragon Lady, not due to her abilities.
She found it weird—“Dragon” for the surname and “Lady” for the first name? That’s quite odd.
“You could say that. It’s very much related to Eternal Life Village; honestly, I’m not a fan of reptiles.”
As they neared the borders of Eternal Life Village, Bai Yu asked Zhao Mingyue to pull out her black phone.
She was curious if the redemption task would trigger again.
To her surprise, the redemption task really did pop up once more.

The big reveal is finally here after waiting nearly two months!
As for the results, well, I’ll let you guys decide. All I can say is, it’s a mixed bag, sob sob…
I proposed swapping these two girls out for Bai Yu and Zhao Mingyue, and I think it could be quite impressive.
