Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School – Chapter 106

Chapter 106: The First Meeting with the Counselor

“Xiao Han, you should have received the class assignment from the academy, right? Have you seen which class you were assigned to?”

“I’ve checked, Class 14. Does Sister Bai know where this class is?” I confirmed again with my phone; it was indeed Class 14.

“I don’t know, but even though the Witch Academy has divisions, there aren’t actually fixed classes and classrooms. After this, you will look for the corresponding teacher in the appropriate classroom according to the class schedule. Sometimes, there will be large classes with other classes as well,” Bai Yu explained, shaking her head.

“Oh, I see.”

I nodded as well; it was quite similar to the format of the university I attended before. I thought the teaching method at the Extraordinary Academy would be more special.

“By the way, have you seen who your counselor is? She will accompany you throughout your time at the Witch Academy until graduation or completion,” Bai Yu remembered something and asked again.

Bai Yu thought she knew quite a few extraordinary mentors at the academy, and if it was someone she recognized, she could use her connections to have the teacher take more care of Xiao Han.

Even if they wouldn’t take care of her, she hoped they could at least push Xiao Han out to be a temporary expendable character in the script.

Calling her expendable sounded a bit serious; the ultimate fate of an expendable character isn’t always d*ath or a bad ending, but they will definitely be a driving force in the script’s narrative. There might be rare benefits, but there could also be irreparable downsides.

Rather than gamble on good or bad outcomes, it’s better to remain an outsider from the start.

“I didn’t pay attention to that; let me take a look.” I reopened my phone to check the announcement released by the academy.

Finally, after the class assignment announcement, I found the corresponding counselors for each class. It was then that I realized each counselor had more than one class, and the numbers varied.

And the counselor for my Class 14 was someone named Ji Niang, and astonishingly, this counselor only managed Class 14!

This stood in stark contrast to the many counselors who handled five or six classes at once!

“Hmm… my counselor is named Ji Niang. Does Sister Bai know her?” I looked up at Sister Bai, only to see her expression of shock.

“I heard someone calling my name. Let me see; it’s my lovely student!”

But before Bai Yu could respond, an unfamiliar person intruded on our conversation.

At that moment, Bai Yu instinctively stepped forward to protect me, making me unsure of what was happening.

I caught what this older sister, who seemed even more mature than Bai Yu, had just said: that I was her student. So she was… Ji Niang?

It felt… overwhelming…

I subconsciously swallowed.

“Bai Yu, you’re hurting my feelings.” This older sister, who I suspected was named Ji Niang, addressed Bai Yu. The tone of her voice suggested they knew each other!

But the relationship didn’t seem very good; I hoped she wouldn’t face any difficulties because of it.

“How did you become Xiao Han’s counselor? Aren’t you just a substitute teacher?” Bai Yu asked coldly.

This couldn’t be blamed on Bai Yu’s attitude; after all, this self-proclaimed Ji Niang was the teacher who had called her away earlier and mentioned things related to the “script.”

Later, she had asked her mentor about this teacher, so she had somewhat understood her background.

Though she didn’t have an aversion to this teacher, the unknown surrounding her was too much. Every extraordinary witch was unknown to students, but this one made Bai Yu even more uneasy.

How could she let her be a counselor for Xiao Han? It was obvious that she had different intentions for Xiao Han.

“It was just a whim. Don’t worry; I will take good care of Xiao Han. Come on – Yang Yuelan, what’s wrong? Don’t you recognize me?” Ji Niang didn’t care about Bai Yu’s wariness and merely offered a slight reassurance.

Then she turned her attention to me.

“Uh? Me?”

Curious, I stared at this teacher from behind Bai Yu, having just noticed her most striking feature earlier. Taking a closer look, she seemed quite approachable.

It would have been better if she hadn’t initiated a conversation with me.

“Don’t you recognize me? Don’t you find my voice familiar?” Ji Niang smiled, trying to jog my memory.

After she said that, her voice did sound somewhat familiar, but I couldn’t recall where I’d heard it.

“Congratulations on making the right choice! Welcome to our Witch Academy~ So, does this remind you of me?” Ji Niang continued.

“Uh? Oh! You are the one!” I froze for a moment before suddenly realizing!

This voice was the one that had called me about enrolling in the Witch Academy!

So it was her!

I widened my eyes in disbelief and looked at her.

“You remember now~ Yang Yuelan, let me introduce myself again. I am Ji Niang, your counselor for the next ten years. If you encounter any difficulties, feel free to come find me, and let’s exchange contact information.”

Seeing my shocked expression, Ji Niang was quite pleased; she then conducted a formal self-introduction and pulled out her phone to ask for my contact details.

“Uh… okay, okay, please guide me more in the future,” I quickly said, picking up my phone humbly. After all, she was my counselor, and if I didn’t establish this relationship well, I’d have an uncertain future.

“Don’t worry~ Even for Bai Yu’s sake, I will give you attentive guidance,” Ji Niang glanced at the silent Bai Yu, then looked back at me to assure me.

Soon, she quickly added me as a friend, and Bai Yu didn’t stop her because she knew that this was something that couldn’t be changed; she was just an ordinary student in the academy.

Even if she condemned an extraordinary mentor, she couldn’t change the decision they made.

“By the way, since I’m the first to meet Xiao Han here, a lot of things will be easier. I only manage Class 14, so Xiao Han, how about you become the class leader of Class 14? What do you think?”

“Uh? Me? I’m supposed to be the class leader?” Being suddenly promoted by this teacher left me bewildered; I had never held such a position before. Was it really okay to hand it over so casually?

“Of course! Xiao Han, you need to be more confident. You were the first to arrive at the academy and adapt to the academy life. Besides~ you’ve completed the Witch Meditation Method, which is enough for you to be my class leader,” Ji Niang came over to comfort me.

“Uh? You know about this, teacher?” I subconsciously looked at Sister Bai. She must have revealed it, right?

“Of course, every teacher has the right to view the personal information of their students. I can naturally see that you’ve mastered the basics of the Witch Meditation Method; it’s not something your Sister Bai disclosed, oh~”

“Oh… is that so… haha, well…” Hearing the teacher’s explanation, I felt somewhat relieved, though it wasn’t something I should brag about.

But soon, I realized something!

It was something Bai Yu had warned me about: the teacher could see my information!

So… my talent!

And that 【Extraordinary Knowledge】!

When the admissions office of Witch Academy called, I was stunned—I had been accepted into a school I never imagined I could touch. Yes, I am a boy and it is an all-girls’ academy, but they did not mind, so I saw no reason to object. I had applied secretly, without telling my family, just to take a chance. But as soon as those striking seniors greeted us newcomers—pressing every boy against the wall with a knowing smile—I realized things were about to spin out of control. “Oh, come now, you sweet little freshman,” one of them said smoothly, her voice full of mischief. “Don’t make this difficult for me, your big sis. Swallow this core and transform into a witch like me, alright?” She held the glowing orb before us, half-threatening, half-teasing, almost inviting the new boys to react. It was clear she enjoyed it—the blend of fear and resistance in their expressions. Our unease seemed to be her personal amusement. After all, they only had this opportunity once a year.
