Chapter 12: The Cold Encounter of the Girls
Just after I finished filling out this form, I finally noticed that a girl had been following me from behind.
To be more precise, she seemed to be looking at my form?
But what’s so interesting about it? I directly turned around, locking my gaze on the young girl.
She looked a bit surprised to see me suddenly turn around, momentarily unsure where to direct her gaze, but she still pretended to be busy with her own matters.
“Do you need something? I saw you looking at my form from behind me,” I pointed out to her without holding back.
“Um… actually, not really, haha… I was just curious about the senior who is guiding you; she seems to have a lot of knowledge about magic wands, and I wanted to learn from her,” the girl replied, scratching her head in embarrassment.
“Speaking of which, isn’t it better to have a magic wand that suits you? Are you sure you want to learn from mine?” I waved the form in front of her, smiling.
Although I didn’t know much about magic wands, as a beginner, I thought a wand’s influence shouldn’t matter much. After all, to find a wand that suits you, you at least need to have your own fighting style and spells, right?
At this stage, no one is a professional; what’s the point of having an overly professional wand?
But there’s no harm in deceiving a fellow new student like me; the fact that she said that shows she doesn’t know much about magic wands either.
“Really? Then I… I’ll reconsider…” The girl hesitated for a moment, then awkwardly spoke.
“Don’t you have a senior to guide you?” I finally asked what had been bothering me.
“Well… after the senior brought us to the academy for registration, she just disappeared, leaving us with a list of things to do next for us to handle on our own.”
I could hear the grievance in her words; after all, without comparison, there’s no harm.
But I also paid attention to some crucial points, like the word “we.” Did that senior just leave the new students hanging here? I subconsciously glanced to the side, wanting to see if she was with anyone else. After all, while I could ask Sister Bai for help in this matter, it might not be the same if there are more people.
Even if the others are also new students, it doesn’t guarantee future interactions, right?
“Exactly! That senior is so irresponsible; she said we could handle the following tasks ourselves, but it took us so long just to find this place. We were hoping to arrive early to familiarize ourselves with the academy.”
At that moment, another girl nearby chimed in with complaints. By her appearance, she seemed to know the previous one, at least having been brought by the same senior.
“Senior, could you please take us along? This is our first time at the academy, and we’re unfamiliar with everything, plus there are several processes we still haven’t completed…” The girl then tried to get close to Bai Yu, her tone shifting from previous complaints to a pitiful one.
I widened my eyes in surprise from the side. What’s going on with them? Why are they suddenly clinging to Sister Bai? Weren’t they just talking to me?
“No, I might not have the energy for that. If you don’t know the way, you should have your phones; the map navigation is enough,” Bai Yu calmly refused from the side. Though her tone wasn’t exactly cold, it was filled with an undeniable aura.
“But… our phones don’t have signal here…” At this moment, another girl weakly chimed in.
“Didn’t you receive the phones provided by the academy? They’re just at the registration point. You can go collect them there; it would be more efficient to find a free senior there than to keep asking me here,” Bai Yu continued, giving them a direction, and it served as a hint to stop bothering her.
The girls understood and left respectfully. After all, girls are quite sensitive to the emotions of others, and it was clear that this senior didn’t want to engage with them. Who knows if these seniors would give them a hard time if they kept pestering her? After all, seniors at least possess extraordinary powers compared to them.
If they were to suffer an unnoticed curse, that would be the end.
“Did they just leave like that?”
I curiously approached Sister Bai, realizing that I didn’t need to intervene after all. However, I had never seen her act like that before.
“What else could I do? I came here specifically for you; I didn’t want to bring along a bunch of little girls chattering beside me,” she replied.
“True. So, should I just submit the form like this? By the way, when can I receive the uniform?” I asked, clutching the form in my hands.
“If you don’t have any special requirements, you can receive a standard set on the spot. If you have specific requirements, you might have to wait a few days,” the senior thought for a moment before saying.
Upon hearing this result, I promptly submitted my form. The senior in charge of checking my form furrowed her brow as she took it, then looked up at me, “Little sister, you sure have a lot of requests, huh?”
“Uh… yeah, sorry for the trouble,” I said, slightly embarrassed but still smiling at her. After all, you don’t show your teeth at someone who has extended a hand, right? This principle works universally.
“It really is a lot of trouble for me. Fill in your address and name. This wand has to be customized, and once it’s ready, it will be delivered to you. However, the cloak, hat, and badge can be collected immediately. Given that you can write these requests, you should be able to find them as well, right?” The senior flashed a slight smile, as if she had seen many beginners like me.
“Okay.”
I quickly expressed my gratitude. Although what she said had a teasing tone, I still had Sister Bai. If these were all I had heard, I might not even recognize anything in that pile.
I quickly wrote down my name and took out my room card to write down the address since that would be my residence in the future, even though I didn’t know where I was living now.
But the senior had mentioned that phones have navigation, so it shouldn’t be hard to find.
“All done?”
Bai Yu approached me warmly when she saw me come out.
“Yeah, but that senior told me to find things according to my requests. The wand needs to be customized, but according to her, the cloak, hat, and badge are available immediately.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll help you,” Sister Bai offered naturally.
“Thank you, Sister Bai~”
Hearing the response I wanted to hear made me happy, and even the way I called her felt a bit cringe-worthy, giving me goosebumps.
I didn’t expect to be so cheesy while addressing her!
However, judging by Sister Bai’s expression, she seemed to enjoy it. Should I consider taking a special class to learn how to say it more smoothly?
Of course, this thought was only fleeting.
