Chapter 424 I Am Truly a Genius
“This… actually succeeded?”
I looked at my masterpiece in disbelief; the Knowledge Tree Spellbook had completely replaced the original Memory Shelf Spellbook at this moment.
If I had mastered the true editing technique, perhaps this would have been an independent spellbook, a brand new sequence spell derived from the Memory Shelf!
But unfortunately, I did not; the Knowledge Tree seemed to establish a new order over the Memory Shelf Spellbook, replacing the original spell effects.
The flourishing Knowledge Tree opened up within my consciousness space, taking root in my memories and gathering my knowledge here.
When I said success, I was referring to the interaction relationship between the two spellbooks. Because of the success of this attempt, I had to reassess the concept of “spellbook” created by real editing.
The complementary effects between spellbooks are indeed impressive. My initial idea was about the complementary effects between spells, but these two spellbooks connected directly at a platform level.
This means that spellbooks are not simply inconvenient items; their flexibility, compatibility, and creativeness far exceeded my understanding. A spellbook is a complete system of magical techniques.
I still have not thoroughly explored the use of this thing.
When I first learned of this concept, its most basic function was the “use” of spells, and now transitioning from the “modification” I discovered, then to “extension,” then to “derivation,” and now to “interaction,” this is a universal spell platform. The one who created spellbooks in the Witch World must be a genius!
Now, with the Knowledge Tree facilitating the “practical application” of spellbook interaction, I had achieved an unprecedented level of efficiency.
At this moment, I also had the qualification to confidently say, “I am truly a genius!”
In the past, I was insecure; I did not have enough self-awareness and confidence in my means. Even though I ranked high in theoretical exams and my own abilities were powerful, I still did not dare to claim I was a genius because everything seemed like a house of cards, and I did not know when it would come crashing down.
But now, I feel I have the right to think this way and to accept all the titles and praise calmly.
The emergence of the Knowledge Tree Spellbook made me suddenly have a focal point.
There are countless ways to accumulate knowledge, but the improvement of learning ability is always rewarding; my work on the Knowledge Tree is far from over.
The “interaction” between spellbooks opened a whole new door for me, but I am well aware that the so-called interaction is not simply an overlay between spellbooks; it is a deeper construction of connections, a complementarity that can be encountered but not sought.
Moreover, not all spellbooks can interact; at least I cannot make spells with conflicting attributes in the spell domain interact; perhaps the concept of elemental counteractions might produce more powerful spells, but such things are merely fanciful notions for me at this moment.
Currently, the Knowledge Tree has reached a completed stage, but I am immediately planning further enhancements; however, at this moment, I have no new inspirations to support new improvements to the Knowledge Tree because, as it stands now, the means I have mastered have already shaped the Knowledge Tree into a complete existence for me.
This means that it is more than sufficient to meet all my needs at this moment, just like my earlier “three-step” modification plan for the Memory Shelf, which was a good idea and indeed met my needs back then, but this plan was directly overwhelmed by the derivation of the Knowledge Tree Spell, so it could only come to an end.
Now, the Knowledge Tree is sufficient for my use, but I still have a crazy idea that I do not dare to practice yet.
That is to try the interaction between the “Knowledge Tree” and the “Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Spell!”
This idea is quite crazy, but I cannot gamble on these two spellbooks because I am no longer the naive fool I once was. In the past, if I failed a magic alteration and wasted a Fireball Spell, it was fine; I could just make another one. But now, what am I dealing with?
Using the Knowledge Tree derived from [Extraordinary Knowledge] is already the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Spell of [Extraordinary Knowledge]; facing these two spellbooks, I have to admit that my mental resilience is still not high enough, and I need more practice.
Although this final idea leaves me at a loss on how to start, I do have some of my own thoughts I want to put into practice at this stage.
For instance… adding “artificial intelligence” to the Knowledge Tree to achieve a Knowledge Tree 2.0 upgrade, even to assist me in researching the extraordinary.
And my idea is naturally regarding the artificial intelligence found among the Wanlian Main Network Trees, but unfortunately, that is just a form of artificial stupidity.
So… I plan to try using the “Illusionary Clone” spell to explore the possibility of “self-subconsciousness” replacing “artificial stupidity,” as a person’s subconscious is extraordinarily powerful. Using the Illusionary Clone merely as a clone would be a waste; moreover, this clone is, to some extent, uncontrollable, so it must be used in other ways. Previously, I speculated that the Illusionary Clone was also a form of independent spell, which indicates it can accomplish more.
However, because of these characteristics of the subconscious, it will become a highly compatible “alternative artificial intelligence” with myself. At that time, I utilized the Illusionary Clone in this manner.
Furthermore, the subconscious is also me, not another thought independent of me. If I could use the spell to control that part of my subjective will that I cannot dominate, becoming the controller of my memories and knowledge, this is indeed a good proposal.
Moreover, I cannot harm myself, and this is not split personality; rather, it’s more like… multitasking?
I use the subconscious Illusionary Clone not to escape the tedious, repetitive work of the Knowledge Tree, but to allocate a hand to truly control it with my will and achieve a synergy between the subjective and subconscious instincts.
However, this may require continuous adjustment on my part, and I am willing to become the self within the subconscious because I know that is the real me!
After all, who would refuse to be their true self?
……
At this moment, as the dedicated shuttle bus that picked up me and Qiu Ruxin stopped, the surrounding environment was beautiful, and the scenery was picturesque.
The natural atmosphere was very rich, and there was a homestay nearby that integrated modern features with nature.
In fact, the homestay did not have a shuttle service and did not only accommodate a single batch of guests.
However, I directly used my wealth to book the entire place, and even had a shuttle bus, saving me a lot of trouble.
As soon as I got off the bus, my gaze was drawn to the sight before me. After experiencing the bumps of the previous journey, it felt as if the hardships were soothed at this moment.
This homestay was nestled in a valley, and there was not much promotion on the Plant Network, but that didn’t hinder me from finding them.
Looking at the rolling green hills around, the sunset painted the clouds in the mountains before it set, evoking a sense of a secluded paradise, but unfortunately, this world did not have such concepts or culture.
“Let’s go~” I called out to Qiu Ruxin and directly entered the homestay.
I declined all services here; after all, I do not like having others intrude in what I find peaceful, even if it is just a server or other service personnel.
Even so, the owner of the homestay welcomed me with a smile; after all, who would turn down money?
The clearest way to communicate with merchants is to throw money at them; their bottom line is money. No doubts, most merchants are like this.
Walking into the quiet homestay, the carefully arranged garden and pathway, and the softer lights indoors did not seem out of place; the outdoor lighting was also unforced.
It provided me with a comfortable and relaxing resting place, a temporary refuge from the slightly exhausting journey.
I do not plan to stay here too long; I still want to enjoy a little here tomorrow and go to the nearby Wanlian Main Network Tree to see if I can find any gains, although I know the probability of not finding anything is high. However, the Wanlian Main Network Tree has already become a check-in spot for my global journey, just like activating teleport anchors in a game to open up maps.
At this moment, Qiu Ruxin pushed open the door to the homestay and fell onto the soft sofa in the entrance hall, letting out an unintelligible whimper.
After all, going on a trip occasionally is a way for ordinary people to relieve stress, but it also consumes energy.
Not to mention my world travels also require a resilient will; the stunning landscapes throughout the journey do not represent the essence of traveling; the hustle and bustle and waiting on the road make up most of it.
This is a test of will as well as an insight into life; no one is always receiving praise; only through long-term accumulation can there be periodic explosions, and a person will feel the sense of accomplishment from all their previous efforts only at that moment. Only then does a person truly feel they deserve it.
Just like my previous reliance on Spirit Vision, accomplishing things that ordinary people cannot do, that achievement was even hard for me to believe, and I even felt a hint of fear.
Because for me, it involved not much effort.
And now, the achievement of the Knowledge Tree Spellbook I derived is entirely my own perfection; every part reveals my effort, as I am very aware that I deserve it.
At this moment, I calmly walked into this homestay, without showing any reaction to Qiu Ruxin’s excitement.
If it were the old me, I would have immediately taken a look around, covering my inner emptiness with a gaze of “gaining knowledge,” but now, I am no longer surprised.
Because I know that this place is here to serve me; it is their honor to welcome my arrival; I do not need to express any politeness.
“Alright, Qiu Ruxin, don’t just lie on the sofa as soon as you arrive; put your things…”
I took out our luggage from the storage equipment. With storage equipment, traveling became much easier.
However, just as I brought these out and instinctively raised my head to look at Qiu Ruxin, my unfinished words suddenly stopped, and my figure froze.
Because at that moment, Qiu Ruxin was no longer lying on the sofa without any demeanor; instead, she was now awkwardly resting her head on a pair of elegantly long-legged women in exquisite knee-high socks.
Then my gaze shifted to the group that had appeared here and filled the sofa… Oh no, they should be the group of witches.
“Hey~ Look what we discovered? We found a wild prospective witch in an unknown small world!” At this moment, a slightly teasing voice nearby broke the awkwardness.
“Correction, there are two.” Another witch mentor beside her smiled and said, “You have one on your lap.”
“All of you mentors and the principal, please don’t joke with me like this…” I forced a bitter smile as my eyes scanned the more than ten extraordinary witches present.
Among them, I even saw several mentors I had met before, but for the majority, they were all strangers, and I didn’t even know which one was the headmaster of the Witch Academy since there was not just Principal Mei Linde.
Just by this encounter, I had already become entertainment in the eyes of these witch mentors; a hint of curiosity flashed in their eyes as they sized me up.
But more of it was the enjoyment of my slightly helpless expression.
However, I am very clear that with things having developed to this point, I do not need to explain much.
Originally, I thought the void exploration team led by the headmaster of the Witch Academy would break the world barrier in a very shocking way to arrive at this world, so that I could directly understand their location through the Plant Network to welcome them.
But I never imagined they would come so quietly!
Moreover, my location is so secluded; it’s hard to believe they just happened to arrive here…
Anyway, I don’t buy that.
“What a skill, not yet extraordinary, and you have achieved self-generated magic. You must be the Xiao Han they mentioned, right?”
“Um, yes, teacher.” My awkward and nervous emotions flashed away, and I replied in a calm tone.
All the people present were tutors from the Witch Academy; they should not harm me. Moreover, their collective action to prank me also conveys their good intentions; otherwise, they would have directly captured me for questioning.
“Very good; however, I prefer you to call me Principal Ma’am. Let me introduce myself; my name is Principal Beif Alanna, and you can also call me Beif Ma’am, okay?” This Principal Beif Alanna had a slight playful smile, as if she was looking at a very exquisite work of art.
“Alright, Principal Ma’am. You all didn’t notify me in advance of your arrival. I was still thinking I would go greet you after you all arrived…”
“No worries, we don’t need you to greet us; just as long as you don’t mind us staying here tonight.” Principal Beif smiled and replied, clearly appreciating my call of “Principal Ma’am,” which made her smile a bit warmer.
“Of course! It is an honor for this place to accommodate you, mentors.” As soon as I finished speaking, these witches did not hesitate to rise and do their own things, after all, they were not all interested in someone who was not yet an extraordinary witch like me; they were at most a bit surprised to see I had arrived early.
At this moment, Qiu Ruxin was feeling quite uneasy.
Her heart was racing; after a tiring day of travel, she had finally found a soft sofa to relax on, and without lying down for a few seconds, she saw these witches before her. However, she was unaware of the current situation, wanting to speak but finding no words; she had no thoughts of resistance and could only allow the witch to force her to rest on her knees. But as that hand ran through her hair, she realized that her feelings of fear were inexplicably dissipating.
“Um, excuse me, teacher, could you let Qiu Ruxin go?” At this moment, I stepped forward and cautiously asked that mentor.
“Oh, this lovely child is named Qiu Ruxin? I really like her, but she seems to enjoy it. It’s fine; let me continue to have a little chat with her~” This witch smiled, showing no intention of letting go.
“Alright.” I put on a face of resignation, no longer holding on.
