Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School – Chapter 43

Chapter 43: Family Information on the Old Phone

After I finished cleaning the entire villa, a long time had passed.

I was even sweating from exhaustion.

The cleaning spell is a technical job; it doesn’t eliminate dirt but “strips” it away, so all that dirt still needs to be cleaned up. Don’t be fooled by how clean the villa looks; after a thorough cleaning, there are still quite a lot of dust and other things.

Once I finished, I felt like I needed a shower.

Without further ado, I returned to my bedroom and started organizing my clothes. These were all prepared for me by Sister Bai, and you could see that she had put in a lot of effort.

I figured I wouldn’t be going out from afternoon until evening; it was too dangerous outside, with reconstruction work happening nearby. What was there to go out for?

Moreover, the big hole in the sky outside hadn’t been repaired yet.

As for what to eat for dinner…

That was a problem. Normally, work would cover meals, but I forgot to bring bread back, and there wasn’t much food in the villa.

Maybe… order takeout?

Speaking of which, the academy should have takeout options. After all, I’ve seen senior students delivering takeout in the store; they seem to be very busy.

But I wasn’t sure if the software on my old phone would work.

The Witch Academy could be said to be isolated from the outside world, especially for new students. Admission notices are one-way tickets into the academy, and once inside, there’s no signal on phones.

Only the phones issued by the academy can be used, and I wondered if they could download any of those apps.

Probably… not?

Many applications on the academy phone are developed around the academy system, and although there are some apps in the software store, once downloaded… it seems like they can’t be used.

Before downloading, I saw that the description below the app clearly stated it wouldn’t work within the academy.

Is the information even blocked?

Is it that barrier wall?

But wasn’t that barrier wall broken?

I opened the short video app I just downloaded and found that, aside from some lag, it seemed to work…

Could it be that the barrier has been broken, and information can connect with the outside world now?

The academy shouldn’t have made such a blunder.

Otherwise, various news within the academy wouldn’t have remained so under wraps in society until now; deleting alone wouldn’t suffice.

Before enrolling, I had no idea that the Witch Academy would admit boys. While this could be discovered with some effort, the fact that boys would turn into girls upon entering the Witch Academy was something I absolutely did not know. Wouldn’t such explosive news trigger outside public opinion?

Boys wishing to be girls would rejoice; they wouldn’t even have to go to the hospital for gender reassignment, and so far, there seem to be no side effects, not even having menstrual periods—well, they won’t get pregnant—but it’s still a good thing for boys.

After a while, I successfully downloaded the delivery app from the academy. I decided to treat myself to some takeout in the evening. Oh, and I also transferred all my not-so-much money onto my new phone.

I picked up my old phone that I had tossed aside, only to realize it was dead.

Dead…

Is there a charging spot in the villa?

I searched around my bedroom but didn’t find one. No way… such a big villa and no charging spot?

Is the villa powered entirely by magic?

This is truly despairing… Maybe I should ask Little Cattle Horse; after all, it is the intelligent butler of this villa.

“Little Cattle Horse, is there anywhere in the villa to charge?”

At that moment, Little Cattle Horse, still on the charging station, sprang to life and replied, “Yes, while the Witch Academy operates entirely on magical energy, there are also charging ports to accommodate the habits of new students.”

“Where?” I asked succinctly.

“I have a port on me; it uses power converted from magic energy and can adjust the output size according to need.”

“On you…”

I looked at Little Cattle Horse, searched for a while, and finally found a socket in a hidden spot. I couldn’t believe there was actually one!

I went back to my room, grabbed the charging cable for my old phone, and plugged it in to charge.

This old phone has been with me for a long time. Although I have a new phone now and feel a slight urge for novelty, there are too many memories in this phone.

“Forget it, at the last moment, I’ll delete those diaries inside, and consider it a… farewell to the past…”

I still remember that the phone contained the diaries I had written in the past, which were the most meaningful things to me. They recorded unforgettable memories, but I hadn’t written them out clearly. Instead, I buried my emotions within the text, hoping to dilute the negative feelings through this means.

Even if I were to live again, the experiences of childhood would still deeply impact me. What does this indicate?

It shows that my inner strength is still not enough.

After waiting for a while, although the battery hadn’t charged much, the phone could already be turned on.

As familiar sounds rang out, I had to wait a little longer for it to be usable.

After all, it’s an old model, so a bit slow is expected; I’m very patient about that.

When the phone finally turned on, an overwhelming flood of messages erupted on the lock screen, causing the phone to lag for a moment.

I glanced at the fleeting messages and the familiar contacts.

At that moment, I felt a reluctance to open my phone.

I didn’t have many contacts in my phone; I barely had a few classmates’ contact information, which in other words means I’m not very popular.

I could already imagine who had been trying to contact me constantly.

Had I been away from home for several days?

It seemed like quite a few days, with a long time spent in Sister Bai’s house.

They knew I was there, but they didn’t come to look for me or contact me.

Now that I had gone missing, they started frantically searching for me?

I also didn’t know if they had gone to the Security Bureau to look for me. Speaking of which, the Security Bureau shouldn’t have jurisdiction over the Extraordinary Academy.

Moreover, ordinary people are not qualified to query a student’s personal information in the Extraordinary Academy, so they probably didn’t know that I had entered the Witch Academy.

I opened my phone and checked the chat history with them.

There were private messages and family group chats, all with messages from them.

My father, my mother, and even my younger brother; I couldn’t recall them being so concerned about me.

I particularly checked another person’s messages; her private chat still lay quietly in my list—she was my girlfriend, oh, wait, now she should be my ex-girlfriend.

Although there was only a slight possibility, if she suddenly messaged me, I’d be the one with a headache, because I wouldn’t know how to continue this nonexistent relationship.

Speaking of our relationship… I seemed to have forgotten, after all, I merely wanted to give it a try—to see what dating in school was like.

And it ended up like this…

Her grades were actually similar to mine, so how did she achieve such remarkable success?

I didn’t know…

Was it because she distracted herself in class with me, or was she doing something else with me? Maybe that’s what genius is—a genius who can do well without studying.

When the admissions office of Witch Academy called, I was stunned—I had been accepted into a school I never imagined I could touch. Yes, I am a boy and it is an all-girls’ academy, but they did not mind, so I saw no reason to object. I had applied secretly, without telling my family, just to take a chance. But as soon as those striking seniors greeted us newcomers—pressing every boy against the wall with a knowing smile—I realized things were about to spin out of control. “Oh, come now, you sweet little freshman,” one of them said smoothly, her voice full of mischief. “Don’t make this difficult for me, your big sis. Swallow this core and transform into a witch like me, alright?” She held the glowing orb before us, half-threatening, half-teasing, almost inviting the new boys to react. It was clear she enjoyed it—the blend of fear and resistance in their expressions. Our unease seemed to be her personal amusement. After all, they only had this opportunity once a year.
