Chapter 603: Inspiration Filled with Ambition – Spellbook Rack
“It seems successful.”
I muttered to myself, marking a perfect conclusion to what I was doing at the moment.
The growth of the new Wanlian Main Network Tree requires time, and this time is far longer than that of the sprouting seed I condensed.
Then I turned to the instructors of the Witch Academy hidden in another space, smiled slightly, and thanked them for their “protection.”
After all, since they weren’t chosen, I naturally couldn’t openly thank them.
However, I did receive many inquiries stemming from information shared by the Great Knowledge Tree; they were also quite curious about what I had created.
In truth, I would not have been able to create something like the Wanlian Main Network Tree from scratch.
Yes, I couldn’t create it—not just taking a little extra time. The new Wanlian Main Network Tree clearly has many of the original shadows. If it weren’t for the foundation laid by this civilization, I would have to achieve my current idea in other ways.
After all, the basic framework was built for me by others, and I chose to accept the internal information, combined with my understanding and means, to ultimately complete such a work.
Perhaps the current form of the Wanlian Main Network Tree is not the best choice to achieve my goals, but it is the most suitable option I can reach out to.
I naturally won’t hide the role of the Wanlian Main Network Tree from the Witch Academy’s witch sisters. I won’t conceal what I want to do with it either.
If I were to solely rely on myself, completing this concept would still be too exhausting.
As the saying goes, if there’s something someone else can do, there’s no need to waste your precious time.
Understanding what must be held in one’s own hands and what can be shared makes life much easier.
After completing the organization and sharing of information, my mood was quite good.
As I expanded my mental power, I found that not far away, the crowd that had relied on the Wanlian Main Network Tree to build a shelter was still there. Even though I had released the limitations of the field and they could have run out, they chose not to leave.
I glanced at the Wanlian Main Network Tree, then a stream of Knowledge Power drifted away, surrounding its periphery.
In the next moment, my figure disappeared from here and appeared beside that group of people.
“Surprisingly, you chose not to leave?” I looked at the crowd and finally spoke.
They instinctively shrank back upon seeing me, but in the end, a few stood forward to shield the others.
“Catastrophe Witch… I didn’t expect your sudden arrival…”
“I have finished my business. If you want to return to the Wanlian Main Network Tree to continue building the shelter, I won’t stop you,” I continued.
But my gaze was already on the few people standing in the front; they looked somewhat familiar, seeming to be among those seven I first encountered.
They were now somewhat far from the Wanlian Main Network Tree, located closer to a water source.
“Yes, we understand; thank you for your kindness.”
The speaker’s tone was very humble. If they had disagreed previously, after experiencing the events of the last day or two, they realized they truly had no capacity for resistance.
Such power could easily crush them.
However, from their perspective, my allowing them to return—even if just saying I wouldn’t stop them—meant they had to go back, even if that Wanlian Main Network Tree had already withered and collapsed.
“Earlier, I had quite a harvest. If you return to your original place to build a shelter, I can lend you a helping hand because I am in a good mood right now.”
Seeing their expressions, I didn’t correct them. It’s better to let them remain that way; at least their fear of me keeps me from too much trouble.
After all, if I want them not to fear me, I must lower my status to be on par with them. Mutual respect is the basic premise for equal coexistence; if I tell them not to fear me, later I will still want them to listen to me—that would be double standards.
So rather than waste that effort, it’s better to maintain the status quo, as long as they can still listen to me.
Just like now, when they heard my words that I would help them, their eyes instantly lit up, especially when they heard my flimsy reason of being in a good mood, which made them even more convinced.
Or perhaps they currently had no other choice; facing someone like me, even refusing a kindness could provoke displeasure.
To them, if the Catastrophe Witch could help them because of her unknown reasons for being in a good mood, she could also be angered by rejecting her goodwill and annihilate them all!
I must say there were still some clever minds among these people. I simply proposed, and they got moving again, although they had many wounded, children, and the elderly, so they couldn’t move too quickly.
And my space teleportation spell couldn’t teleport them on such a large scale, so I chose to return with them.
Although it took a bit of time, I didn’t mind. Watching them shed prejudice and barriers to help one another truly was a pleasure.
And in this atmosphere, I reflected on how I was becoming increasingly distant from ordinary people.
However, I also used this time to assist some injured individuals in treatment. It’s about applying both kindness and authority… after all, I still had things for them to do later, so the more people capable of acting now, the faster we could assist them back to the Wanlian Main Network Tree.
As for their grateful words, I directly disregarded them, as there was no need.
Until they arrived at their original shelter, they gazed in shock at the colossal network tree that had already collapsed. What kind of power could cause such a once-flourishing giant tree to wither and fall apart in just a day or two?
Looking at the fallen branches that crushed trees, if such a thing were to fall on them, there would be no chance of survival.
Subsequently, their gaze fell upon what should have been the severed Wanlian Main Network Tree. They saw a newly sprouted tree growing at a visibly rapid pace from the break, with new leaves that were so vibrant and showed no signs of time passing.
“Well, the original place has been damaged a lot; after a clean-up, it can be rebuilt,” I said.
“I… I will organize people to clean this place up immediately,” someone beside me immediately offered.
“No need; I don’t know how long it would take for you all to do it,” I directly stopped them.
For dealing with the debris here, spells are the most convenient and straightforward, especially for someone like me who has various derivative spells.
As I spoke to stop them, they turned with some confusion, not knowing what I was about to do.
But as they heard a snap of my fingers, the previously gentle breeze in the forest suddenly grew urgent.
Then an invisible storm swept past everyone, the gale lifting fallen leaves, weeds, and everything that could be blown away into the air, tearing and destroying them in the most explosive manner.
Everything happened so fast.
And this was just an ordinary Gale Spell.
Plus, with a certain degree of precise control, the debris lifted by the wind was sent high up, then shredded by using the derivative spell of gale, while the wind carried these tiny fragments far away to wait for natural degradation.
On the ground, I used the Earth Movement Spell and Earth Spike Spell to renew the soil, detaching weeds, shrubs, etc., making it easier for the Gale Spell to carry them away.
Finally, soil-derived spells tidied up and compacted the ground.
This big commotion certainly startled these people, but… as they realized they weren’t harmed, they quickly calmed down.
However, seeing these scenes they had never witnessed in their lives gave them a new understanding of my powers.
After all… pure destructive power and the ability to harness power to do what one wants are two entirely different matters, and this is one way I understand the significance of basic spell derivation.
In fact, many smaller spells can accomplish even more magical things; perhaps that’s the purpose of smaller spells.
Once everything around was cleared in such a decisive manner, the crowd looked at me, momentarily unsure of what to do. After all, since I had taken care of everything without requiring their effort, it would make them seem very useless.
However, I didn’t think so.
I approached the few people who had been speaking with substance and waved my hand, causing an image of the Great Knowledge Tree to appear before them.
This was the topographic map created by the Earth Vein Identification Technique and the three-dimensional modeling of our surrounding terrain, which is where we currently are.
“This is where we are right now. Your shelter will also be built here. I will use spells to help you complete the most basic construction, at least so you won’t have to rely on tree trunks to spend the night. I only have one request: the original Wanlian Main Network Tree is destroyed; do not touch the new tree that has sprouted. In the zone restricted by my powers, if you d*e, your bodies are not allowed to cross past it. Understand?”
“Understood, understood!”
They quickly nodded, fearing that if they delayed their agreement, they would become a corpse, just as I implied.
“I’ve told you what you need to pay attention to, so now let’s discuss the construction of the shelter,” I said, softening my tone.
“Catastrophe Witch, we don’t expect a very luxurious shelter; just enough for us to spend the night is good…”
“You’re not going to lift a finger, and you’re still setting conditions,” I chuckled lightly, but my casual demeanor didn’t ease their tension.
“I’m sorry… we…”
“Don’t rush to apologize; just look at this. Should this temporary shelter’s construction be enough?” I pushed the spell imagery in front of them, where the three-dimensional topographic image originally showed transformed into a huge structure similar to a fort.
They looked at the scene before them, their eyes filled with shock.
They naturally recognized that the imagery depicted their current location, but the previously empty area now displayed a vast construction resembling a fortress. They had originally thought of building makeshift shelters from available materials to avoid getting sick from the evening wind, but this… while primitive compared to modern skyscrapers, was far better than they expected.
And I was naturally not surprised by this. My goal was to let these people settle properly here, taking advantage of available resources as conveniently as possible. There were essentially three types of materials available: soil, stones, and plants.
I am not an architecture master and cannot design an entire structure that suits a small group’s survival within such a short time based on existing terrain.
This was of course referenced. If I were to say a building suitable for living in the woods, the Forest Elf race would have the most to say.
However, my Great Knowledge Tree did not have information synchronized with the Extraordinary Academy of Forest Elves, so all I could draw from were the introductions about Forest Elves in the Witch Academy Library and basic information about architecture.
Subsequently, using this knowledge managed through the Knowledge Shadow, it took shape as it did.
Moreover, the materials needed for this forest stronghold were also commonly found.
The soil-based spell’s derivative techniques, such as Stone Technique and Wall Construction Technique, and the plant weaving derivative spell of the Wood Elemental Vine Technique, etc.
These spells came easily to me. Once I advanced to become an Extraordinary Witch and learned genuine editing techniques, the derivative spells I mastered could completely break free from the original spellbook framework and become independent spellbooks.
It’s hard to believe just how terrifying the spellbooks I would possess would be.
And precisely because of this, a spellbook that was very important to me but had always been overlooked came back into focus.
Spellbook Rack Spellbook.
The somewhat awkwardly named spellbook that Ji Niang gave me; I had initially swallowed that pie drawn by Teacher Ji and exchanged those unnecessary resources from the competition for what seemed useless to others—this high-consumption spellbook. However, this spellbook later helped me significantly.
Without it, I would have had no convenient means to use spellbooks after severing the Earth Vein Shackles. Although the Academy Head likely had other tricks up his sleeve, it certainly wouldn’t be as convenient as this spellbook.
When I understood the concept of “thoroughly mastering spellbooks,” I realized that even an Extraordinary Witch could not fully master the spellbooks they possessed. It’s not that it’s impossible, but that it’s not worth it.
Because of this lack of worth, spellbooks came with choices, which is something I need to consider in the future.
One thing is certain: I will not discard these spellbooks.
So… I need a better way to store them.
I do not know how Extraordinary Witches keep their spellbooks within themselves without using tools like the Spellbook Rack Spellbook, but I am sure that they must have other methods.
So the Spellbook Rack Spellbook is likely a dispensable existence for Extraordinary Witches.
But I still remember what Teacher Ji said: the value of this spellbook lies in its derivative spells, whether she was stating a fact or deceiving me, it no longer matters.
Because… I have already gained a lot of inspiration from this spellbook, or rather, the thoughts on this matter have been in my mind for some time; it just wasn’t something necessary, thus it was delayed until now.
As my grasp of Extraordinary Power deepens, that inspiration has become increasingly manifested… perhaps the Spellbook Rack Spellbook can also be integrated into the system of the Great Knowledge Tree.
Bold assumptions, rigorous exploration.
And I have given this derivative spell’s inspiration an ambitious name—Spellbook Rack of All Spells!
