Chapter 653: The Refinement of the “Wisdom Bestowal” Technique
“Is it the final exam… so that’s it.”
During the month leading up to the final exam, I learned about this from my clones.
After deciding to refine the technique of Wisdom Bestowal, it has already been half a semester since then.
I have not remained solely at the rift in space but have continued to wander throughout the Expanding Realm; however, most of the subsequent journey has intermingled with the activities of my clones.
But this did not hinder my own travels.
In fact, I had initially thought I would spend this semester studying the Reverse Summoning Spell, Crystallization Technique, and Spellbook Rack Spell during the journey, but ultimately, due to inspiration and enlightenment, I spent too much time on those, only managing to barely finish reading some Rune Literature, while the rest was all devoted to the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Spell and its two derivative techniques.
Soul Drawing
Wisdom Bestowal
Of course, the focus is on the latter, Wisdom Bestowal.
I relied on the following time to complete the first serial derivative spell of the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Spell—the Great Wisdom Weaving Seed.
After all, the correct name for the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Spell is now the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Tree, and the moment I awakened my soul and received the blessing of the soul, I had already made changes to this great spellbook.
And now, I have finally taken the first step in the serial derivation of this great spellbook.
The effect of this serial derivative spell serves the technique of “Wisdom Bestowal.”
Yes, a serial derivative spell serves a derivative technique; it feels somewhat reversed, but this is a unique way of thinking that belongs solely to me.
During this period, I actively sought out those Mutated Beasts, regardless of whether they were foolish, lacked subjective awareness, were intelligent, had spirituality, or had previously been inspired by my Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Spell; I made attempts with all of them.
I aimed to comprehend the formation of the concept of the Wisdom Seed through the spells and techniques I mastered.
To seek out the wisdom hidden within the Soul Material.
Of course, I am well aware that the “form” expressed by wisdom in different states is indeed different; even I myself have not been spared, as I am the only wisdom life with soul as my soil that I can touch.
Soul Material can equally bear wisdom, and through the discovery of wisdom seeds within the Soul Material, the technique of Wisdom Bestowal has also entered a whole new realm.
Subsequently, I began to gather various forms of Wisdom Seeds.
However, Wisdom Seeds are an abstract expression, or rather, wisdom, in terms of surface meaning, doesn’t even have the concept of a seed. But that doesn’t mean I cannot assign it the concept of a seed.
The key lies in how to utilize it, and to utilize it, one must first define it.
Once I defined it as the concept of a “seed,” the accompanying technique could then exert the influence I desired over it. So why can’t “wisdom,” this abstract and comprehensive concept, be a “seed” as well?
Thus, definition is indeed a flexible tool; as long as there is a series of cognitions that match it, it can transform many things that are inherently incomprehensible into things that can be understood.
Hence, the “seed” of wisdom appeared.
The validation of this concept also provided a strong enlightening effect for my Great Wisdom Weaving Seed derivation.
When a grand spellbook originally used to enlighten wisdom encountered its most direct target for action, I was able to perceive the “growth” process of wisdom much more intuitively.
Of course, in the twist of fate, there was also a process of withering.
So… after mastering the reverse application of Wisdom Bestowal—“Wisdom Deprivation”—I also grasped another perspective of reverse usage, which is wisdom withering.
In principle, the effects produced by them are quite similar: one is deprivation, and the other is withering.
However, I do not view these two as the same; they simply apply to different circumstances.
Afterwards, I “disassembled” countless Wisdom Seeds, and I welcomed the first serial derivative of the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Tree, the Great Wisdom Weaving Seed.
Only by knowing how to disassemble—or rather, decompose—can one understand the raw materials of composition and the techniques to weave and reorganize them again.
So at the moment the Great Wisdom Weaving Seed serialization was completed, I gained two pieces of knowledge.
One piece of knowledge filled in the most vital “basic endowment” in the technique of Wisdom Bestowal; the other made me understand most of the components of wisdom… individual cognition, emotional cognition, behavioral cognition… and the construction of these cognitions relies on “consciousness” and “memory.”
I acknowledge that this is merely the most superficial understanding, but through the reverse decomposition of Wisdom Seeds, this is all I have come to understand. However, curiously, through the Great Wisdom Weaving Seed, I can perfectly rely on this to reweave Wisdom Seeds.
Indeed, this Wisdom Seed lacks some things that I cannot comprehend, but that does not hinder the birth of wisdom.
I call this… the self-evolution of life.
As long as there is the soil of wisdom to cultivate it, the process of wisdom’s growth will continuously perfect itself.
The self-evolution of life also includes the self-perfection of wisdom. Coupled with the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, the birth of wisdom tends towards perfection.
Thus, the technique of “Wisdom Bestowal” has been completed.
But it is not entirely perfected.
There is still much room for optimization, such as the degree of understanding of Wisdom Seeds, which will directly influence the final results of Wisdom Bestowal, an undeniable change and guide.
Even if one day I reach a more profound understanding of Wisdom Seeds, or even achieve a new understanding of wisdom, this will bring about a revolutionary transformation in the technique of Wisdom Bestowal. However, at this stage, I cannot do that, primarily due to insufficient accumulation, cognition, and experimentation.
Nevertheless, the current Wisdom Bestowal is also facing a problem: the acquisition of raw materials.
If I want to apply Wisdom Bestowal to the Dream Creatures in Fool Dreams to allow them to gain true wisdom, I must first complete Soul Drawing, bestowing wisdom soil, and only then can Wisdom Bestowal be applied.
However, I feel that Wisdom Bestowal does not necessarily need external raw materials.
Because the next level of wisdom is cognition, a variety of cognitions, and what makes up cognition is… consciousness and memory.
Fool Dreams happen to possess consciousness, albeit dream consciousness, but through Soul Drawing, I can transform it into the essence of the soul, shaping it into the soul consciousness of real significance, so this is feasible.
Then there is… memory. The Great Knowledge Seed has been helping them preserve memories in the form of knowledge, which isn’t problematic.
Everything has formed a perfect closed loop here!
The bestowal of life essence and the bestowal of wisdom, and these two also perfectly connect…
This would count as completing my understanding of the “wisdom life” form.
Then… I no longer have a mature line of thought.
If I bestow upon it a physical body of reincarnation, if this cannot be recognized as life by the Void, then… the only breakthrough I can think of is the concepts of bloodline and race.
After all, I have only perfected one of the two techniques I have mastered, and this alone has already consumed so much of my time and energy that there is truly no more time to plan further ideas.
After all, many of my actions are about taking one step at a time; only through personal experience do I know how to proceed with the next step. A plan without experience and empirical testing is merely talk without action.
But… after completing the technique of Wisdom Bestowal, I also feel a sense of relief that a matter has finally come to a close.
Additionally, having learned about the final exam and its connection to my Knowledge Seed, I am preparing to return to learn about the actual situation and whether my participation is needed.
However, more importantly… I indeed have not appeared before the public for some time now.
After making the decision to return, I did not choose to teleport directly back but instead flew back on my broomstick.
After all, there is still nearly a month before the final exam, so I plan to revisit things.
However, I have also learned that the college entrance exams seem to be starting soon, and the timing for the college entrance exams is earlier than that of the final exams.
Hmm… But thinking about the college entrance exams… always brings to mind something like… this year’s participants in the college entrance exams…
I subconsciously tried not to think about these matters, but… this time, my subjectivity overpowered my instinct.
Isn’t this year’s college entrance exam about my little brother as well?
At a young age, he has continually demonstrated his excellence through skipping grades, worthy of better… how should I evaluate such behavior?
Hard to evaluate…
Confronting past evasion is also a form of growth; the current me can review my former self, my past, and my family from a more objective perspective.
“Then how about the subjective perspective? As the first-person view of you, Yang Yuelan, do you dare to face it like this?” At this moment, Knowledge Shadow, my subconscious, struck me deeply again.
“I can’t say anything, don’t let this experience that took you several months fall short when confronting this issue! The fastest way to change yourself is to face what you fear; do you want to go back and take a look?”
“I have no reason to go back; it’s best to go with the flow. Perhaps when those two are gone, I could bring them some tributes.” I sighed and finally spoke.
“Then in that case, you will be trapped by youthful matters for a lifetime. Take up the determination you had when you first joined school, when emotions dominated you, to bring past matters to a complete end so that you can release your heart from past burdens. You know, this college entrance exam is a rare opportunity.”
“The college entrance exam isn’t something I can control; it is itself a massive social structure and collective ritual, a ceremony that gathers the world’s fortune upon one individual, of course… it might also have some other effects that I am not very clear about.”
“Hmph~ Excuses.”
Knowledge Shadow snorted lightly; for some reason, it suddenly ceased to dispute with me.
Perhaps it felt too pitiful… or maybe my heart already had the answer?
Though I had been refuting moments ago, this has been a method of interaction between Knowledge Power and myself for a long time.
This method allows me to analyze the feasibility of a matter in a dialectical manner through the intuition of my subconscious and subjective cognition.
Just like how I rejected Knowledge Shadow earlier, not intending to solve this problem, but I very much understand that my heart wants to resolve it; it’s just… without an execution plan.
However, the experiences of these past few months, as well as those of my clones, have taught me that such musings are meaningless. Seeing the other person in the past holds significance; any feelings are only derived from experience, not thoughts.
As I continued my return, the sky had started to darken.
Night posed no obstacle for me; I could continue forward, but directly ahead of me, I saw a brilliantly lit gathering place for humanity.
Just seeing the light and structure of the buildings instantly reminded me of the experiences and memories my clone had here, feeling no different from my direct participation.
However, this roughly built city now had a unique name: Mercenary City.
Its predecessor was the Mercenary Refuge, constructed by a mercenary organization that had long resisted the encroachment of Abyss Demons in the original small world.
Yes, resisting the invasion of Abyss Demons, not players.
After all, this small world originally faced invasions from two worlds: one from the player game world and another from the Abyss Demon world, where those little demons surged like cutting grass. To face them took tremendous courage.
And these mercenaries had to face those guys, unlike the mercenary bodyguards who protect patrons from player harm, which is an entirely different concept.
In confronting those repulsive, constantly regenerating monsters, they needed to remain psychologically prepared at all times and possess a high level of awareness.
As I reached above the city, I unconsciously slowed down, a desire to descend and experience it firsthand led me to use Transformation Technique to blend into the night’s bonfire.
This city managed by mercenaries was filled with untamed wildness, evident in their lack of proficiency in city management, but also reflected their unique style, of which I couldn’t be bothered to interfere.
In the center of the city, the towering Wanlian Main Network Tree was easily seen, its canopy obscuring the starry sky.
This was the foundation for their communication with the entire world, as well as the cornerstone and treasure I left for them in civilization remodelling.
I strolled along the city streets, heartily feeling the… ordinariness of everyone I brushed past.
Having discussed the topic of ordinariness with Sister Bai, I have been continuously trying various experiential topics; topics can be cross-trained, and before officially choosing my own path, I can continually perceive and experience the nuances of different topics.
Principal Mei stated that by following my own ideas, I stepped onto the Soul Great Topic, but that does not mean I have to choose it; I can also experience the branch topics beneath this great topic, and naturally, I am willing to explore the topic of ordinariness related to Sister Bai.
Passing by an tavern, the noise drew my attention.
Catastrophe Tavern… I have an impression; after all, it is a place that dares to use my title as Catastrophe Witch with my approval.
Although it is a tavern, the main offering is flavored fruit juice, drinks squeezed from quick-maturing fruits cultivated by Growers.
And the reason it’s called a tavern… is that they found a distillery and plenty of stock among the ruins, while also mastering some brewing techniques, including but not limited to fruit wine and beer-like techniques.
Before their initial batch of wine could be brewed properly and achieve product circulation, the existing drinks were absurdly expensive, which is why people here, even the wealthy, mostly choose fruit juice cocktails.
Following my instincts and heart sense, I entered, pushing open the somewhat rough door. The lively atmosphere within was bustling, mingled with the smell of alcohol and sweat. However, I chose not to dispel it with spells, but combined auditory, olfactory, and heart senses to feel if there was the slightest hint of unintentional enlightenment.
Yet upon entering, I spotted a figure incongruous in the corner of the tavern, sitting there abruptly and drawing no attention from anyone else.
And the other party slightly lifted her head following my gaze, making eye contact with me.
In an instant, I realized… she was here for me!
Betrayer Witch?
Her appearance was of the typical witch style, especially with that large witch hat, but she bore no hostility—on the contrary, after locking eyes with me, she even showed a friendly smile.
Without thinking too much, I found myself moving over to sit down, my actions clean and swift.
Just as I was about to ask, she preemptively extended her hand, delicately plucking something in front of me, revealing a strand of golden thread floating at her fingertips.
In that moment, I suddenly realized!
“Fortune… quite marvelous, isn’t it? Guiding you to meet me here. Let me introduce myself, I’m Trix Destinie, a Fortune Alchemist. It’s truly fascinating… I can feel traces of Fortune Seeds still left on you.”
