Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School – Chapter 7

Chapter 7 Registration to Become an Official Student

After I walked out of the station, the admission notice in my hand suddenly ignited spontaneously. It burned quickly, and before I could throw it away, it turned to ashes in my hand.

No, there wasn’t even ash left, leaving me here wide-eyed and at a loss.

“It’s a normal phenomenon. The purpose of the admission notice is to ensure you can smoothly pass through the curtain wall into Witch Academy. It’s like a one-way ticket. Let’s go, it’s time to officially take you into Witch Academy,” Sister Bai chuckled as she saw my dazed expression, then came to my side, took my hand, and continued forward.

Once I entered, I felt that this place didn’t resemble an academy at all; it felt more like a well-planned huge city.

The roads were intricately planned, and the surrounding houses were very modern in style.

“Um… Sister Bai, where is the academy? Do we just walk over?” I asked while dragging my suitcase alongside Bai Yu.

Meanwhile, Deng Xiaonan was still carrying that boy following us.

I couldn’t shake the feeling that Witch Academy seemed highly unreliable. Now that I was in this place where the academy was located, I still had no idea where to report, and the guidance was terrible. If it weren’t for Sister Bai, I might have gotten lost right here.

“The academy is in the central area up ahead. This area is part of what Witch Academy encompasses; it can be considered as the outer city. Who knows, you might even be assigned to live in this area,” she explained.

“Is… is this where I’ll live?”

“Not necessarily, but under your current circumstances, the academy will randomly arrange housing for you. If you had money, you could choose to live in a better place; an independent villa wouldn’t be impossible, but you don’t have any money.”

Sister Bai’s words pierced my heart. I really didn’t have much money right now, and it seemed I would need to find a good job. I hoped the courses at Witch Academy wouldn’t be too intensive, or I might not even have enough time for a part-time job.

Just as I was preparing to keep walking, Bai Yu suddenly pulled out a broom!

I exclaimed in surprise, had broom-riding become so commonplace for witches?

Where did she even pull it out from?

My first thought was that it must be some kind of storage ring, but Sister Bai didn’t have any rings on her hand… Perhaps my thinking was too limited; spatial equipment could come in various forms, not just rings.

Indeed, novels can lead to misconceptions and rigid thinking.

But if Sister Bai had a broom, what about me?

And Sister Bai had storage equipment; why didn’t she put the suitcase inside?

Although I had many questions, it was clearly not the right time to ask them.

Then Bai Yu mounted her broom and looked at me, signaling quite obviously for me to get on as well.

Quickly, Sister Bai took me to experience flying for the first time.

The view from high above was beautiful, but my trembling legs directly reflected my inner unease; this was high-altitude flying with no protective measures!

As we flew at high speed, air rushed into my mouth continually, and the slender broomstick made my bottom ache. The only comfort came from the fact that I was tightly holding onto Sister Bai’s waist, but I had lost the excitement of a new student experiencing the beauty of it all.

At that moment, I envied the boy who had fallen asleep; he was being held around the waist by the senior without a care, even completely unaware of it. When we arrived, he might even have a wake-up service.

Just when I was about to reach my limit, I felt us descending, so I tentatively asked, “Sister Bai… are we almost there?”

“Yes, we’ve arrived.”

Her affirmative reply eased my mind, but my feet still trembled as they touched the ground.

As I composed myself, I looked slightly up, and there it was—the registration location for Witch Academy.

Although I might have looked a bit disheveled, I was no longer the most conspicuous one here.

The level of chaos around made me doubt whether this was really the registration place.

As I scanned the area looking for Sister Bai, I saw her chatting with a senior in a corner not far away, and then she smoothly obtained something resembling a shawl.

When Sister Bai draped it over herself, I vaguely saw words like “Volunteer.”

“Um… Sister Bai, what’s this?”

“It’s time to correct how you address me; you should call me Senior, or Bai Senior now.” Bai Yu approached me with a smile, resembling a volunteer helping out here.

“Okay… Bai… Senior.”

“Ah~ really, how does it feel? Not too pleasant to experience flying for the first time, right?”

“It wasn’t very pleasant,” I admitted, still a bit shaken.

“Then let’s go. It’s time for new student registration.” The senior took my hand and walked toward the registration area, where the senior in charge of registration was also very enthusiastic.

“Oh~ it’s a conscious little freshman~ What’s your name? Let me register it!” This senior exclaimed as she saw me. After all, many freshmen were either unconscious or asleep when sent here, or they woke up and resisted fiercely.

Then she glanced meaningfully at Bai Yu beside me, seemingly filled with admiration.

“Yang Yuelan.”

“Yang Yuelan? Great name, found it… um… let’s check a bit, this is it, right?”

“Yes…”

I glanced at the information, confirmed that the photo and basic details were correct, and nodded.

“Great, if everything’s fine, go get your room card; that will be your residence later. If you’re not satisfied with the assigned accommodation, you can discuss it. Oh, and remember to take your phone; important notifications from the academy will generally be sent to your phone, so check it in time.”

“Okay, okay, thank you, senior.” I quickly thanked her.

“It’s nothing; it’s what I should do. I’m watching out for you, little freshman.”

I looked at this senior; she spoke to me in that tone, so I instinctively turned to Sister Bai.

“Senior, what does that mean?”

“It’s nothing, just a senior’s good wishes for her juniors.” After saying that, the senior immediately changed the subject, “Let’s go get the room card and phone; aren’t you looking forward to that phone?”

“Um… I’m not that excited…” I feebly defended myself, but inside, the excitement was undeniable.

I had been coveting such a cool phone for a long time! The only regret was my old phone, which now only had a little power left.

Soon, I followed Bai Senior and quickly received my room card and phone.

The room card indicated that my accommodation was at No. 62, Street 2, New Meng; I had no idea where that was.

“It’s not time to go to your residence yet. Keep the room card safe; if you can’t find it, just use your phone’s navigation,” Sister Bai explained kindly beside me.

When the admissions office of Witch Academy called, I was stunned—I had been accepted into a school I never imagined I could touch. Yes, I am a boy and it is an all-girls’ academy, but they did not mind, so I saw no reason to object. I had applied secretly, without telling my family, just to take a chance. But as soon as those striking seniors greeted us newcomers—pressing every boy against the wall with a knowing smile—I realized things were about to spin out of control. “Oh, come now, you sweet little freshman,” one of them said smoothly, her voice full of mischief. “Don’t make this difficult for me, your big sis. Swallow this core and transform into a witch like me, alright?” She held the glowing orb before us, half-threatening, half-teasing, almost inviting the new boys to react. It was clear she enjoyed it—the blend of fear and resistance in their expressions. Our unease seemed to be her personal amusement. After all, they only had this opportunity once a year.
