Chapter 839: The Uninvited Guest of Fool Village
Fool Village.
When I arrived at the top of Starlight Tower, I witnessed the darkness above Fool Village that obscured the starlight.
This was a gap created after my soul descended into Fool Village, prompting numerous dream creatures to discover its existence.
When countless dream creatures turned into a wave of dreams and attacked Fool Village, this dream was anchored with actual dream coordinates by these dream creatures.
If previously Fool Village’s existence could not be located within the Primordial Dream World, it was now thoroughly exposed.
Thus, its coordinate concept could be anchored, which forced me to use Field Order to cover the entire Fool Village, utilizing Knowledge Power to complete its blockade.
In truth… if you were to ask me how I ultimately intended to “handle” an existence like Fool Village, I had always been conflicted, after all, I could not predict how things would develop afterward.
If the process of shaping life for Fool Dreams were perfect, all their Fool Dreams could come to reality.
What if it didn’t go smoothly?
Would they still remain in Fool Village… Should I just let them be, allowing them to continue to repeat such a life unceasingly in the Primordial Dream World, just like before?
Was that possible…
Thus, I thought of another method.
Or rather, it wasn’t so much a thought as it was an “observation” of this possibility.
Because I observed that Fool Village was continuously “displacing” within the Primordial Dream World along the anchor between my and reality.
Logically speaking, I should not be able to move such a massive “dream world” as Fool Village.
Until I learned from the Village Head what kind of existence Fool Village actually was, and how the Sacred Object maintained its existence.
Only then did I understand… Fool Village is the Dream World Scroll, and the Dream World Scroll is Fool Village itself.
Of course, the Fool Dreams themselves were not aware of this, which was a conjecture based on the Village Head’s description and my own exploration.
The Dream World Scroll appears to be “recording,” but in reality, it is “interpreting,” with each Fool Dream forming a scene within the Dream World Scroll.
The reason the dream consciousness of Fool Dreams has not been tainted by Nightmares is that the Sacred Object has not been tainted. However, Fool Dreams that are forcefully tainted by dream creatures will trigger the adjustment mechanism of the “Dream World Scroll,” allowing them to voluntarily leave Fool Village to protect more Fool Dreams.
However, I intervened in this matter, which was the main reason for the Village Head’s hesitance. Ultimately, my method of stripping away Nightmares did not lead to a catastrophic end.
And because the Dream World Scroll is part of the Sacred Object, after anchoring with me, it began to move spontaneously toward the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Tree anchored in reality.
This also caused Fool Village to continue to “emerge” from the Primordial Dream World.
And I took advantage of this characteristic to strengthen this anchoring.
Furthermore, I reinforced the order of my field to enhance the relationship between the two, and all that I did… was to hasten Fool Village’s descent into reality.
Even if it cannot descend into reality, Fool Village’s reaching shallow dream realms would at least prevent it from encountering any dangers afterward.
After all, in shallow dream realms, even I can directly guide the order of reality into dreams, and those dream creatures would have no qualifications to act unruly before me.
Given the essence of Fool Village as the “Dream World Scroll” and its relationship with the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Tree, long-term anchoring it in the Expanding Realm’s shallow dream realm would also be a simple matter.
So, the preliminary plan seemed quite perfect.
As for the matter of life experiments… if anything, I could slowly research later how to shape Fool Dreams into true life.
Accelerating Fool Village’s departure from the deep Primordial Dream World was in itself a plan very favorable to the current situation, but it also carried great risks.
And the main point is… the concept of Fool Village “displacing” within the Primordial Dream World would inherently provoke unknown existences that were sedimented in the Primordial Dream World. While the probability was low, it did exist, and such behavior would attract a vast number of dream creatures to raid Fool Village.
The Village Head called me here precisely because of this.
Those dream creatures have already begun to break through my Field Order in overwhelming numbers!
“It’s okay, as long as it’s just this, those dream creatures still can’t break through my blockade, and I’ve also filtered the characteristics of the dream creatures. The net woven by Knowledge Power encasing Fool Village can target them more effectively for interception.”
I looked at the slightly anxious Village Head and comforted her.
“Really? No… I mean, there are dream creatures that might have broken through the great sage’s blockade…”
“Broken through my blockade? How is that possible?” I widened my eyes slightly, incredulous, but when I confirmed that it was indeed true, my expression changed to one of concern.
The plan to guide the Dream World Scroll to the shallow dream realm had barely been executed for long when such a situation arose…
Then my estimation of my own power might have had severe deviations.
Thus, I could no longer be as “leisurely” as before and needed to be vigilant against the intrusion of dream creatures at all times.
After all, if even one dream creature were to enter, it would result in a scenario akin to wolves entering a sheepfold!
“Don’t move… I’ll go take care of that dream creature.” As I finished speaking, a staircase guided me toward Fool Village.
At that moment, my mind was already racing with thoughts on how to reinforce the Field Order. To adhere to the original plan of reaching the shallow dream realm, I had divided Fool Village’s blockade and order maintenance into at least three phases and backup plans.
But for now, three phases seemed insufficient.
So how else could I reinforce the order?
By relying on… the spatial sense prototype that I hadn’t mastered for long, and still wasn’t very familiar with?
As I pondered these matters, I arrived at the area where the “dream creature” had broken through.
“Wait… this doesn’t seem like a dream creature?” Looking at the figure before me, it was clearly different from the bizarre and erratic shapes of dream creatures.
Moreover… the information displayed by the “existence” in front of me felt quite familiar.
It reminded me of a distant memory.
Dream Demon!
“Dream Demon?”
I frowned in confusion as I recalled the external information I learned while communicating with Sister Bai in recent days.
Currently, as long as any Extraordinary Academy capable of researching the Primordial Dream World had reached the Expanding Realm, they were conducting “cooperative research.”
Thus, Dream Demons, as a special existence of the Abyss Demon Academy, indeed had reason to appear here.
But it was really abnormal for her to appear in this place!
This was the deep Primordial Dream World!
How had those Dream Demons found their way here?
“Hahaha… I didn’t expect the root cause of the dream disaster to be this peculiar dream world? Such unique dream rules… but while they may stop those dream creatures, they can’t stop me! Hehe… I wonder if I should return… um?”
This Dream Demon clearly had not yet grasped the current situation, and with my assistance, she suddenly fell into Fool Village, her mouth babbling about something madly.
Until she saw me.
“Don’t you know being complacent can lead to a terrible demise?” I locked eyes with her, confident that I wouldn’t be the one to feel embarrassed in the end.
“You… you! How can there be anyone in this dream world?! And… the language of the Main World! Who are you?” Upon seeing me, the Dream Demon instinctively shuddered, not just because she was scared by my appearance, but more so due to the shock of this illogical existence.
“You don’t recognize me?”
Looking at the Dream Demon before me, I suddenly felt the urge to laugh; surely some notable figures in the Extraordinary Academies of the Main World wouldn’t fail to recognize me, right?
After all, I’m quite distinguishable, like with this head of white hair?
Currently, it seems to be slightly popular in the Witch Academy, and shouldn’t others see a white-haired person and think of me?
Moreover, the enmity between me and the Dream Demons was not a one-off; from the initial encounter in Ninglan New City to that assassination attempt… Even if the Abyss Demon Academy had a low presence, they should know of some individuals, right?
After all, I am currently on the k*ll list of other Extraordinary Academies.
But it truly would be unjust for this Dream Demon; their existence was not positioned as a student of the Abyss Academy. They weren’t even truly alive, but rather one of the tools for exploring the Primordial Dream World; hence, they wouldn’t be familiar with characters from the Main World.
From another perspective, I also do not know students from other Extraordinary Academies; this can somewhat even things out.
“Am I supposed to know… uh…”
Before the Dream Demon could finish speaking, I swiftly subdued her.
To enter Fool Village, governed by my Field Order, did she really dare to take action against me?
As long as one does not comprehend the rules of the Primordial Dream World and lacks the means to utilize them, they are all generally classified as “ordinary people” within the Primordial Dream World.
Even Dream Demons are no exception.
The special existence of Dream Demons lies in their ability to transition between dreams and reality, but having infiltrated such a deep Primordial Dream World, instantaneous transitions were no longer feasible, and Fool Village would not provide her with such an opportunity.
Her main role is to assist in adapting to the environment of the Primordial Dream World as a tool for collecting more data.
The applicability of her ability is, in essence, similar to the range of Dream Demon Spells.
Perhaps she was able to enter such a deep Primordial Dream World precisely because of Dream Demon’s characteristics.
There might also be a connection to the anchors I left behind.
The anchors I left currently comprise three types, which represent three foundations of my Field—two Great Spellbooks and Body Cultivation power.
The Field Order shaped staircases for anchoring the concept of “passage,” representing my ability to traverse between dreams and reality, while the two pieces of Extraordinary Knowledge completed communication between dreams and reality through their own power.
The Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Tree serves as a linked entity to the Dream World Scroll, driving the original power propelling Fool Village up from the Primordial Dream World.
I did not listen to any more of the Dream Demon’s babble, instead, I just packed her up and took her away.
I didn’t expect this “dream creature invasion incident” to be just a false alarm, but thankfully it was only a false alarm.
I examined the order of the dream realm and the net woven by Knowledge Power, and the strength of this order’s resistance against dream creatures even exceeded my expectations.
So everything was still within the plan!
Now, the primary task was to find the Village Head, convey this good news to her, and meanwhile interrogate the Dream Demon to see if I could pry out some useful information or intelligence.
“I’m back, oh~”
I greeted the Village Head, who was still very worried atop the Starlight Tower, and then I saw her expression soften a bit, but quickly her gaze was drawn to the Dream Demon behind me.
“Great Sage, you’re back? Then what about this one behind you… didn’t you eliminate those dream creatures on the spot?” The Village Head asked with some puzzlement.
“This fellow is not a dream creature, and she doesn’t have a Nightmare either.”
“Not a dream creature?” The Village Head tilted her head slightly, unclear if there could be entities other than dream creatures existing outside the Primordial Dream World.
“Yes, they are called Dream Demons, created by a group of Extraordinary Races known as Abyss Demons in the real world. They can infiltrate the Primordial Dream World, and just now this fellow infiltrated Fool Village, almost becoming a fish that slipped through the net.”
After all, the screening I structured in order was targeted at the characteristic of “Nightmares.” No matter what, Nightmares are the harmful concept to Fool Dreams, and conveniently, Dream Demons are neither dream creatures nor Nightmares, allowing them to nearly pass through my order’s blockade.
“Dream Demon?”
“Right, you can understand them as similar to your kind; like you Fool Dreams, they are not truly alive, but they are quite malicious and serve a group of even worse individuals. So if you encounter them, you must tell me, and I will deal with them.”
I began to teach the Fool Dreams how to handle such situations and attempted to inform them on how to avoid risks. Since the first Dream Demon appeared here, there could certainly be a second!
The awareness of prevention had to be established first.
“I understand!” The Village Head nodded seriously and responded to me. “By the way, should I inform everyone about this? I think everyone needs to know so they can be vigilant against this fellow.”
“Of course, it should be said. It’s best to notify every Fool Dream, as these Dream Demons invading Fool Village indeed caught me off guard. Now if I want to take action on the recognition screening mechanism of the blockade, it may be a bit difficult. So these Dream Demons are very likely to infiltrate in unexpected places.”
I wholeheartedly agreed with the Village Head’s reminder and passed this significant responsibility on to her. As for me?
Of course, I was going to interrogate this Dream Demon here to see if I could extract some useful information from her.
I also intentionally aimed to send the Village Head away.
After all, the interrogation process might be too “inappropriate” for the Fool Dreams.
Although the Fool Dreams might indeed be older than me, I’m referring to their mental age.
I chose to conduct the interrogation here at Starlight Tower, also considering the need to stand at the highest point of Fool Village, which would allow me to survey the unusual conditions of Fool Village at all times and promptly notice and resolve issues, to prevent more Dream Demons from appearing in Fool Village and causing large-scale chaos.
