Chapter 154: Talent Scouts
“Old Liu?!”
“Old Gan?!”
“What are you doing here?”
“I was going to ask you the same! How did you end up at Jiang University of Science?!”
The two talent scouts, both wearing sunglasses, bumped into each other. They were from the same entertainment company, located just an hour’s drive from Jiang University of Science in Lianshui City.
It was only a matter of time before outstanding talents like Yu and Cu were discovered by entertainment companies.
Many stars were scouted during their school days and then became famous.
They had seen some online photos of Cu and Yu and came to Jiang University of Science to investigate further.
Are there really people who look that good?
Just like game models…
In fact, they had already visited the neighboring Nanfai University yesterday to look for Lin Shuxue.
Recently, Lin Shuxue’s performance video had gone viral after being shared online by a classmate.
However, Lin Shuxue didn’t engage with the internet and was completely unaware of this.
The boy who uploaded the video was secretly trying to contact Lin Shuxue to discuss making short videos, but she completely ignored him.
Since the two talent scouts couldn’t locate Lin Shuxue yesterday or today, they decided to shift their focus and take a look at Cu and Yu first.
“Oh~ you’re here to find Cu and Yu too, right?” Liu Zhitai adjusted his glasses and said knowingly.
“Not just them, there’s also a teacher named Leia who looks amazing!” Gan Wenbin candidly replied, skipping small talk with Liu Zhitai.
They were all from the same company; whoever found someone to sign would get the commission.
“Wow, these kids are still holding a welcome party. Should we check it out?”
“Maybe the ones we’re looking for are at the party right now?” Liu Zhitai patted Gan Wenbin on the shoulder.
“Stop pretending.” Gan Wenbin waved his hand, “I just asked. Yu is performing tonight; she’s definitely at the auditorium.”
“Let’s be clear: which one do you want? We don’t want any misunderstandings later.”
Liu Zhitai chuckled lightly, “Well… in that case, I’ll take Lin Shuxue and Cu. You won’t fight me for those.”
“The remaining Leia and Yu are for you.”
“Why should Lin Shuxue go to you?” Gan Wenbin protested.
The others hadn’t even been properly seen, but they had the live video of Lin Shuxue.
A trip to this place would certainly secure a contract with Lin Shuxue to ensure profits!
“Hey, didn’t you tell me to pick first?”
“I want Lin Shuxue and Yu. You can have the other two.”
Gan Wenbin had done his homework before arriving.
Yu was from the dance department, while Lin was from the music department.
Their majors aligned perfectly with the company’s current needs, so they could learn quickly.
“Ugh… you…” Liu Zhitai scratched his head, clearly keen on Lin Shuxue as well…
He hadn’t done any prior research; it was just a gut feeling.
But Leia was a teacher, and he felt that dealing with her might be more troublesome compared to college students.
“How about this: since you’re taking Lin Shuxue, let me choose the other three. You don’t get to pick anymore?” Liu Zhitai raised his hands, making a reasonable request.
After pondering, Gan Wenbin found it acceptable.
As long as he secured Lin Shuxue, he would profit regardless.
So he generously declared:
“Fine, you choose.”
Upon hearing this, Liu Zhitai pretended to hesitate before making his choice:
“Then I’ll take Yu and Cu; Leia is all yours.”
“That sneaky old Liu, knowing it’s easier to negotiate with college students, gives me the teacher.” Gan Wenbin was not foolish and could see through Liu Zhitai’s intentions.
But since he had already secured Lin Shuxue, he didn’t feel too upset about it.
Whether he could sign Leia or not didn’t matter anymore.
“Alright, agreed. Just don’t start arguing later, and don’t poach anyone! Whoever poaches, is my descendant!”
“Okay…”
……
“They’re coming, they’re coming, the next performance is Yu’s dance.”
“Wake up, wake up.”
“Finally, they’re here, I was dozing off.”
“Film it and take it home to watch slowly.”
“Recording, recording.”
Word spread quickly.
By this time, the program had passed the halfway mark. The skits and appealing performances were done first.
Many onlookers who were just there for fun began to leave leisurely, finding it uninteresting to stay.
Those who chose to remain did so mainly because they heard Yu would perform next.
Among them were Yu’s loyal fans.
However, they only knew that Yu was in the next dance performance and didn’t realize she had been kicked out of the team.
As the members for the next dance performance came out, excited fans raised shiny signs…
Awakened audience members lifted their phones to record…
Everyone assumed Yu was among this group…
But…
After over a dozen people came out, the alluring figure was nowhere to be seen…
“Where’s Yu?!”
“Right? I didn’t see her?”
“Where’s Yu?!”
“False advertising?!”
“What the heck!”
The crowd on stage, led by Hu Yueyan, was still adjusting their formation and posing.
They were getting ready to face the dozens of cameras in the audience.
Immediately below the stage, some people voiced their discontent, followed by a wave of discussions echoing like the sea.
“Waiting from 7 to 8:30, where’s Yu?!”
“Exactly! Waiting for so long, and she’s not even here!”
“If you can’t get her, don’t bother at all; what’s the point?”
“I wasted half an hour waiting!”
Among the discussions, louder voices expressed dissatisfaction; seeing a welcome party with false advertising raised the question of what is real in this world.
“If you can’t watch, then just leave!” Some wanted to protest and watch the performance normally.
After all, not everyone was there just to see one person.
Naturally, there were friends of Hu Yueyan in the audience standing on her side.
As the music played, those on stage began to dance.
But…
The voices of discontent grew even more intense.
“You don’t want to watch, fine, just go.”
“This is so boring.”
“Are you kidding me? The vast majority still here are waiting to see Yu, and she’s not here.”
“And you guys think you have a point.”
“If you have guts, don’t use her for promotion!”
“We came to watch Yu! You still have her name on the lineup, and now you say she’s not coming? Wasting our time?”
The loudest voices were from Yu’s loyal fans.
They were not just angry about being deceived but also furious about her name being used for false advertising!
They knew Yu had a reputation at school and that it was being exploited!
“What should we do, Senior Hu?”
“Just dance our routine, ignore it.”
Hu Yueyan was aware of this and had taken advantage of it.
However, she underestimated Yu’s popularity, even though Yu had a notoriously bad temper…
