Chapter 201: The Sudden Gathering
Chen Yuan still couldn’t recall who was on the other end of the phone.
However, judging by the tone and content of the conversation, it was clear that the person was quite familiar with him and even knew Yu Enqi.
That could only mean they were old classmates.
He had no childhood friends or childhood buddies anymore.
If he had to mention a childhood friend, only Yu Enqi could be considered somewhat of one.
They had known each other for more than eight years, from middle school to now.
But now, they had long since lost touch, so how could they possibly attend a gathering together?
Chen Yuan first stated that he still hadn’t remembered, and after receiving the other person’s affirmation and a joking complaint about him forgetting her, he learned that she was his middle school classmate.
Only then did Chen Yuan remember that indeed there had been such a person in middle school, who was even the class representative for English, a more social type who could chat with anyone.
However, he referred to her as a “half social butterfly” only because she could socialize within the class, not like a full social butterfly who could talk to friends from across the entire school, even those from different grades, from seniors to younger students.

Lan Guohuan continued on the phone, “It’s been so long since we last saw each other! I heard from Wang Yang that you and Yu Enqi have been together for quite a while? Let’s get together!”

A good buddy from middle school who had always been in Chen Yuan’s WeChat, he knew about Chen Yuan and Yu Enqi’s relationship, so that wasn’t surprising.

“Well, I was actually inviting you, are you not coming? We’re not inviting her; it’s just us old acquaintances,” Lan Guohuan attempted to salvage the conversation.
“Then, who else is there?” Hearing Lan Guohuan directly say they wouldn’t invite Yu Enqi made Chen Yuan chuckle.
The other side immediately changed the invitation in accordance with his request; was this really for him?
