**Chapter 96: Teaching by Example! [Request for Recommendation Vote]**
All night long, the little girl was so excited that she couldn’t sleep.
After learning Soren’s identity, she was completely stunned. As an apprentice priest, she had never seen a True God. Although many deities fell to the mortal realm after the Saint’s Cataclysm erupted, mere mortals could probably encounter only a very few. What excited her the most was that this True God had actually met her before and now seemed to be a friend of her sister Anya Lee.
Oh my God!
Sister Anya Lee actually has a friend at the level of a True God!
Why has she never mentioned it to me?
The little girl thought about this all night, and when dawn broke, she finally managed to fall asleep but was quickly awakened by a sound from outside.
Inside the Temple.
Soren had also not slept all night. In fact, at his level, sleep was merely a habit.
“Brother.”
Vivian sat beside Soren, organizing the sights and experiences from their journey. As a very intelligent little girl, she understood that such opportunities would be difficult to come by in the future.
The little girl raised her head and asked, “Why is Modo so prosperous while other places are becoming more desolate? Is it because of war?”
This was the biggest question in her mind.
The desolation she saw along the way was vastly different from anything she had experienced before! Everything was completely different from Modo; many places had almost turned into ruins.
Soren gently patted Vivian’s little head and said slowly, “Because of order.”
“In fact, the prosperity of Modo is not solely due to my efforts. But as long as there is order, everyone living in Modo will consciously strive to create a better living environment.”
“Because of order, Modo has a structured environment where everyone plays their part.”
“Is there no war in Modo?”
“Not at all.”
“Modo almost experiences battles every month, and the frequency of attacks is likely higher than in most cities here. However, the order in Modo ensures that these wars stay away from civilians, with the army blocking the vast majority of the conflicts outside the island. This allows civilians to work and produce in peace.”
“And what does turmoil bring?”
“Civilians ruin the land due to war, and the army cannot operate effectively due to lack of supplies.”
“In the end, everything forms a vicious cycle. Order continues to collapse, and turmoil becomes more severe. Civilians begin to leave their homes, and the army becomes demoralized.”
The wars in Modo continued unceasingly.
From attacking indigenous people to battling the Rosad Duchy, conflicts erupted almost every month. Although Soren took refuge in the Overseas Islands, he could hardly escape the battles that erupted due to the Saint’s Cataclysm. Attacks from demons, ambushes by devils, followed by elemental chaos, and even now, there were rampaging water elementals attacking fleets near Modo’s waters. However, Modo had still not been significantly affected, as the vast majority of the wars were kept outside the city by the army. Order created a stable living environment for civilians, which allowed them to work and create wealth and resources.
Vivian fell into deep thought upon hearing this.
At her age, it would take some time for her to understand all of this, but Soren was not at all anxious.
He hoped to convert Vivian to the camp of order; even if that was not possible, he hoped the little girl could remain neutral because chaos was not a good camp, and the Demon God of Fear’s domain had always been one of chaotic evil.
The rise of Modo was not something that could be achieved by an individual’s power.
If Soren relied solely on his personal strength, Modo would likely still be just a fiefdom, never capable of having such significant influence along the Southern Coast.
Soren created a kind of order.
This order resisted the chaos brought by the Saint’s Cataclysm. For power, for strength, to prove oneself, and to live better, countless people joined Modo for various reasons and consciously maintained Soren’s order, finding their own places within it.
Now, Soren could leave the management of Modo to others simply because the order had created a corresponding operational system.
In Modo, Soren had everything they needed.
Whether it was the wealth, power, status, and strength needed in life or the divine kingdom sought after in death, Soren could fulfill these demands, and for their future, for not falling into the abyss of hell, even evil people had to follow Soren’s rules.
This is what enabled Modo to stand tall among the Overseas Islands, looking down upon all!
To live.
They needed everything Soren granted.
After death.
They likewise needed everything Soren granted.
For this reason, even corruption and graft in Modo were much less than in other places. Although Soren allowed darkness under the rules, those caught would still be punished. Most officials in Modo dared not claim to be incorruptible, but they knew exactly what could be taken and what could not. Surrendering hundreds of years of status in the divine kingdom for a mere trivial benefit in life was absolutely not a worthwhile trade. A mortal’s life is fleeting, just a hundred years, and many officials in Modo are ordinary people; their faith and service to Soren naturally pursued more than just transient pleasures.
They hoped to gain higher status, longer lifespans, and more power after entering the divine kingdom!
There was still much Soren wanted to pass on to Vivian.
But some things still needed the little girl to comprehend herself, as in the future, she would need to manage the faith and serve her own church, something that no deity could replace.
Dawn was approaching.
As a ray of light appeared in the sky, a girl dressed in leather armor appeared outside the temple.
Anya Lee.
Having lost her priestly powers, she could only work as a warrior to complete tasks for the mercenary guild. There was a wound on her shoulder; since she could not use divine techniques, she had simply bandaged it.
“Sister Anya Lee!”
Vivian ran over excitedly, and Soren’s figure also emerged from the temple.
He looked down at the girl in front of him and slowly approached her, speaking in an unquestionable tone, “Come with me. Take all the orphans you can with you; I will arrange for them to have a place to stay and grow up healthy.”
An irresistible reason.
As soon as Soren’s words fell, the girl’s last bit of stubbornness vanished completely.
Because she knew that after losing her priestly divine techniques, it was impossible for her to support so many orphans, so the conditions Soren provided were simply something she could not refuse!
