“Very well.”
Soren’s voice sounded as his golden eyes gazed at the Chouhou before him, and then with a wave of his hand, a divine light descended.
Powerful divine energy surged into Chouhou’s body.
Soren split a portion of the divinity within himself and granted it to the Chouhou before him, temporarily endowing him with part of the powers of the Church of Shadows.
—”God’s Chosen!”
Soren was in the process of creating a true God’s Chosen, a being of this level also known as an “Elect.”
The Elect can stand shoulder to shoulder with Saints; they can channel the powers of deities and possess divinity themselves. Except for the inability to become a deity, their other abilities are very similar to those of deities. The only way for an Elect to become a deity is to be elevated to divine status by a deity they believe in.
Generally speaking, deities wouldn’t easily create Elects.
Because the cost of creating an Elect is significant, meaning that a portion of one’s own divinity will permanently decrease.
Elects possess tremendous power, and they are also channels for deities. When necessary, they can become incarnations of true gods descending upon the world. If it weren’t for the importance and danger of this mission, Soren would have only created a God’s Chosen instead of directly creating an Elect.
Vast divine power surged into Chouhou’s body.
And golden divine light appeared in his eyes; from now on, his status within the Church of Shadows would only be second to the High Priest and Holy Spirit Priest Milan.
Moreover.
He could mobilize even greater power than the Holy Spirit Priest, and could utilize part of the abilities of the “Shadows” divine profession.
Soren had elevated him to “Elect.”
A total of 10 points of divinity were infused into Chouhou, and with the accumulation of shadow divine power, he was now even slightly stronger than many demigods.
At this moment, Soren spoke again: “I need you to go to the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair.”
“There is an entrance to the Kingdom of Fear of the Demon God of Fear there.”
“What you need to do is infiltrate it and find the location of the Throne of Fear.”
The realm of a deity is vast.
Especially the divine kingdom of a powerful deity, and Chouhou’s mission was the key to Soren’s next actions. He had to send a strong and highly trusted individual to the kingdom of the Demon God of Fear to locate the Throne of Fear and ultimately find a way to destroy it.
No pirate leader could handle such a mission.
Currently, Soren’s only choice was Chouhou; hence, He must elevate Chouhou to an Elect and grant him sufficient power.
Chouhou knelt on one knee before the statue, feeling the surging divinity within him and calmly bowed his head, saying, “I will not disappoint my lord!”
There weren’t many words.
Because upon learning the content of the mission, Chouhou knew that his journey was nearly a one-way trip!
His chance of survival was pitifully low.
Entering the realm of a powerful Evil God alone to find the throne was a danger that was almost impossible to estimate. Even if he found the Throne of Fear, once discovered by the Prayer Weaver and demons within the divine kingdom, it was nearly impossible for him to escape alive.
This mission even Soren estimated had less than a ten percent survival rate.
Soren did not speak.
For such a loyal believer, he should grant ample rewards, but not now; it would be after Chouhou completed his mission or died attempting it.
Attacking a divine kingdom is a very risky maneuver.
Any mistake could lead to the complete destruction of Modo’s power. After pondering for a moment, Soren waved his hand, opening a portal, and said slowly, “Set off.”
“I will keep an eye on you at all times.”
This statement has two meanings: one is that Soren would monitor Chouhou’s movements, and the other is that when necessary, he would bestow sufficient divine power upon Chouhou.
Chouhou humbly lowered his head.
Then, without hesitation, he stepped into the portal, which Soren had already locked onto the destination using his “Planar Transportation” ability.

The Wasteland of Destruction and Despair.
There are many harsh living environments in the lower planes, and the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair is one of the most brutal.
The hostility of the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair is not just unsuitable for habitation but is extreme enough that life is difficult to survive. This plane includes a vast expanse of black sand, a plain of ordinary granite, and steep and sharp obsidian cliffs surrounding treacherous canyons. Aside from the River of bl**d, no water flows across this barren land, and although there is no sun, it is still very muggy. No plants grow here, and almost no healthy beings inhabit the area.
Dark clouds shroud the eerie sky, enveloping the land in darkness.
True to its name, this is a land filled with destruction and despair, as well as the domain of the Evil Gods of the lower planes.
There are five Evil Gods residing in the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair.
They are the Demon God of Fear, the Goddess of Misfortune – Bansaba, the God of Revenge – Hor, the Goddess of Torment – Lav, and the Goddess of Toxicity – Talona.
Due to the outbreak of the Saint’s Cataclysm, the Goddess of Torment has been forced to become Soren’s subordinate goddess, and the Goddess of Toxicity Talona has already fallen. Currently, only three deities dominate the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair: the Demon God of Fear, the Goddess of Misfortune, and the God of Revenge.
This is a plane very close to the Abyssal bl**d War.
The former Tyrannical God – Bane resided here, and after the Demon God of Fear replaced him, the position of the divine kingdom lowered and moved closer to the Bottomless Abyss.
The Kingdom of Fear lies between the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair and the Bottomless Abyss.
The most important landmark in the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair is the River of bl**d, which flows all the way to the Eighth Layer of the Bottomless Abyss – the Sea of bl**d.
This territory is governed by the Lady of Misfortune – Bansaba.
To facilitate control over these two places, Bansaba established a permanent portal to the Bottomless Abyss within her domain known as the “bl**d Outcrop.”
This is a plane situated between the Hell of Bartok and the Bottomless Abyss, and it is home to some of the most loathsome creatures. Aside from those devils, evil spirits, demons, and Ygoroth that fled from the bl**d War, creatures such as the Parrot Beast, Hell Dog, and Hell Bee Swarms also inhabit the wasteland.
The souls arriving in the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair are almost all vengeful mortals, who turn into prayer weavers known as larva. The appearance of larva is very similar to that of Abyss Worms, but there is still some distinction; most larvae are medium-sized worms with heads resembling their mortal forms.
Larvae, much like Abyss Worms, serve as currency, food, and materials.
This is a very dangerous area.
Because it is too close to the divine kingdoms of the five Evil Gods, even the boldest adventurers would not dare to enter easily since it is even more terrifying than exploring the Bottomless Abyss!
At this moment.
A glowing transport spell appeared.
As the portal gradually disappeared, Chouhou’s figure also appeared within a vast expanse of black sand plains. As soon as his figure came into view, a hungry Hell Dog wandering nearby pounced at him wildly.
This is the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair.
In this desolate and barren place where even souls find it hard to survive, the overwhelming majority of creatures are filled with extreme hostility!
