Abyss Domination – Chapter 1075

Chapter 117: Three Armies! [Request for Recommendation Vote]

2016-09-06

Author: Floating Tower

“Is it about to start?”

Gloria stood atop the Arcane Tower, looking down at the entire Modo, murmuring, “I wonder if Vivian is ready.”

Although her relationship with Soren had grown intimate, Gloria recognized that her status in Soren’s heart could never compare to Vivian. However, she had nothing to be jealous about; Gloria was quite satisfied with her current situation, even if she felt a hint of unease. The prophetic divine profession had granted her some special powers, allowing her to vaguely sense and discover possible future events as well as things that had already happened. She was learning how to become a deity, and as a deity, she clearly needed to adapt to a new perspective.

This offensive against the Kingdom of Fear was primarily not led by the forces of Modo; in such divine kingdom wars, there was little that mortals could contribute.

“Prepare to open the portal!”

“Target locked on Despair and the Wasteland of Destruction! …Portal charging! …Begin teleportation! …”

A cold mechanical voice rang out.

Under the command of the Tower Spirit, a portal was opened, and a vast Golem Legion stepped from the underground factory into the portal.

The commanding Tower Spirit was not a creation of Gloria’s Tower Spirit experiment but rather Tower Spirit No. 1, which had entered the mechanical realm of reincarnation. For these Tower Spirits that had established themselves in the mechanical realm, forming connections with a powerful deity was undoubtedly valuable. They understood that the investments made now could bring greater benefits for the future, so this battle not only included Modo’s Golem Legion but also an army of Golem Puppets from the mechanical realm. Moreover, a part of Modo’s Golem Factory was also produced by these Tower Spirits, who had many resources to utilize.

This battle would only involve Soren and Vivian.

All other core members remained in Modo, at least giving others the impression that Modo was doing nothing, just focused on preparing for the harvest celebration.

………………

Meanwhile, deep within the Gurenba Arena, a massive and grand portal had been completed.

This portal had been established a week earlier but only opened today, accompanied by a bl**d-red glow as it locked onto the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair, while the demon army gathered near the military camp began to move. For this battle, Soren did not mobilize the Evil Spirits Legion, as they were not trustworthy; they cared only for their interests and immediate gains. In contrast, while the Demon Legion might go awry in their reasoning, they were rather loyal to Soren, at least while he remained so powerful. This battle saw Soren drain most of the forces from the Gurenba Arena; hundreds of thousands of demons surged forth, making this battle a nearly all-in gamble for Soren. Should he fail, it would not only be a devastating blow to Modo, but also to the various clandestine forces behind it!

This battle allowed no room for failure!

To the northwest of the Gurenba Arena, a dark portal opened, followed by the appearance of the vast Demon Hunter army, along with tens of thousands of Prayer Weavers.

Soren still could not enter the Divine Kingdom.

Thus, he could not directly link the Divine Kingdom to the Wasteland of Despair and Destruction. The Otherworldly Messenger in the form of the Chouhou Avatar took over his task, opening a temporary portal within the Divine Kingdom, allowing these Prayer Weaver armies to leave the Divine Kingdom for other realms.

Prayer Weavers could not be away from the Divine Kingdom for too long; otherwise, they would become exceedingly weak.

This battle was destined to be quick, as being away from the Divine Kingdom for too long would gradually diminish the Prayer Weavers’ powers, and without the power of the Divine Kingdom, they would struggle to sustain a prolonged battle.

………………

Awoooo!

A pack of Hell Dogs prowled the empty desert.

As one of the most common creatures in the Wasteland of Destruction and Despair, Hell Dogs were mostly hungry, desiring food and bl**d, unfriendly to any beings entering this realm.

Just then, a portal opened.

The nearby Hell Dogs clearly sensed the portal’s essence, and they approached with snarls, around thirty of them gathering, standing guard outside the portal awaiting their targets. Such a number of Hell Dogs was enough to hunt high-level demons, and they seemed to anticipate a feast ahead.

A Coward Demon appeared.

It was clearly startled upon seeing so many Hell Dogs, but surprisingly, none of these Hell Dogs scared it away; it should be noted that Coward Demons were typically very timid.

The Hell Dogs were evidently dissatisfied with the prey before them.

The Coward Demon was simply too small, and even with bones, it wouldn’t provide enough for a few bites.

However, the portal did not close; the Hell Dogs knew there should still be demons arriving.

Boom.

As if the portal had been officially activated, the glow gradually turned bl**d-red, and then hundreds of Coward Demons emerged. They clumped together chaotically and spotted the Hell Dogs outside. But unexpectedly, although these Coward Demons were frightened, they did not flee; rather, some seemed eager to charge forward.

The Hell Dogs sensed something amiss.

Although there was now an abundance of flesh, the fact that so many Coward Demons were not running away made the Hell Dogs feel that more enemies would be arriving through the portal.

Awoooo!

The Hell Dogs howled, summoning their companions; it was rare for so much flesh to appear in the Wasteland of Destruction, and the pack’s leader sought to gather allies within a radius of dozens of kilometers, telling them that plenty of prey was available for a feast.

Awoooo! Awoooo!

Howls of response came back, and soon other Hell Dogs’ figures appeared nearby.

At that moment, the third wave of teleportation was completed.

The number of Coward Demons expanded to two or three thousand, and among them, several Frenzied Combat Demons also appeared. The nearby Hell Dogs were increasingly uneasy, for the number of demons was simply too great. Such numbers could not ordinarily be transported by mere mortals. But by this time, the Hell Dogs had already gathered in the hundreds; they were formidable and ferocious beings, daring to attack mid- to high-level devils even in the Hell of Bartok, so they tentatively launched an attack.

The demons howled excitedly.

Facing the Hell Dogs’ assault, they seemed thrilled, directly rushing forward.

A large area near the portal opened up.

Then the next batch of demons teleported in; this time the number was larger, not only including a massive amount of Coward Demons, but also mixed in with many mid-level demons, including a small squad of flying Succubi.

The Succubi swiftly engaged.

Upon discovering the Hell Dogs, they immediately led their squad to surround them; some Flur Demons flanked from the side, seemingly planning to eliminate all the Hell Dogs before them.

The situation rapidly reversed.

The Hell Dogs began to panic, and just then, the portal flashed again with light, accompanied by a wave of hot air as over a dozen Fire Demons appeared behind the portal. More and more demons poured out: Assassins, Soul Judges, Tempt Demons, Six-armed Serpent Demons—a large group of high-level demons arrived to declare the d*ath sentence for the Hell Dogs.

And these high-level demons did not mind snacking on some Hell Dogs as appetizers before the fight!

The realm of flames expanded.

Accompanied by rapidly rising temperatures, a terrifying demon finally stepped from the portal.

—[Balroth Fire Demon Lord] – Soren!

As a true god, Soren’s real body found it challenging to participate in this battle; his role was to ultimately break the Throne of Fear. For the previous skirmishes, he could only rely on the Demon Avatar and the Otherworldly Messenger, as the Saint’s Cataclysm caused the Divine Kingdom to still reject him.

Soren restrained these demons as much as possible.

As a chaotic and evil presence, demons made excellent cannon fodder, as many were simple-minded and bloodthirsty. However, managing them was quite a hassle.

Even Soren could only issue relatively simple commands.

The vast demon army, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, began to advance; they were the vanguard of the attack. The Chouhou had already locked onto the entrance of the Kingdom of Fear, and these demons would be the first to engage, consuming some of the enemy’s strength.

For this objective, Soren said little.

He merely told the demons that he wanted to occupy a new plane of land, with all slain souls counted as their spoils.

Of course, the high-level demons in the main force naturally understood that the true target was the Kingdom of Fear. However, they also knew more—that this battle was led by a terrifying Evil God, along with other forces joining the fray.

One living Evil God, one dead Evil God.

The demons were not fools; they clearly sensed where the odds of victory were slightly better!

Thus, these demons unwaveringly chose Soren, preparing to divide the treasures of the Fear Demon God after their victory. Soren only cared about the power of the Fear Demon God; as for other wealth, he didn’t mind sharing a bit with others. The Fear Demon God was truly dead, merely not entirely, as he couldn’t enter battle like Soren, so the decisive factor in victory rested with their respective armies—the forces within the Kingdom of Fear and Soren’s vast assembled troops. Should the Fear Demon God emerge victorious, Soren would be unable to launch a second attack for a while, whereas if Soren succeeded, the throne holding the Fear Demon God’s soul would inevitably shatter.

Dozens of miles away.

Unlike the chaos with the demons, here was a realm of cold mechanical sounds; tens of thousands of Golem Puppets had gathered and were silently standing in place, ready to march into battle at any moment.
