Chapter 147: The Gift of Slaughter! [Request for Recommendation Votes]
The Duchess of Red Dragon stayed in Soren’s room for a long time before coming out.
When the Duchess of Red Dragon walked out of the room, her attire was noticeably disheveled, and her complexion had taken on a hint of crimson. This was partially due to a minor disagreement regarding their cooperation, and also related to the exhilaration brought on by Soren’s complete suppression of a former rival. The Duchess of Red Dragon was a very clever woman; she knew how to leverage her strengths and advantages, and she was even more aware that she herself was a very valuable bargaining chip that could be exchanged for greater benefit when necessary. Thus, in the following time, the Duchess of Red Dragon served Soren well, allowing him to fully understand the differences between a Dragonblood Sorcerer and an ordinary person—differences not only in temperature but also in various other physiological structures.
Evil gods are never bound by morality.
Once the Duchess of Red Dragon left, Soren’s expression immediately turned cold. He waved his hand lightly, and a shadow appeared outside the room. Soren spoke in a deep voice, “Send someone to monitor her secretly and pay attention to the movements of the Rosad Duchy.”
Women in this world do not become blindly devoted to someone just because of a moment of pleasure.
What had just been enjoyed was insignificant seasoning to Soren, who felt that his time in the mortal realm was limited. Once the Saint’s Cataclysm ended, he would have to return to the Divine Kingdom, and the difficulty of coming back would drastically increase. Soren could clearly sense that the Duchess of Red Dragon had not completely submitted to him; she was merely fighting desperately for her own interests. The Duchess of Red Dragon neither wanted to fall to the Hell of Bartok nor did she wish to enter Soren’s Divine Kingdom. Dragonblood Sorcerers have a long lifespan, and with the strength of the Duchess of Red Dragon, if she remained in the material plane, she could at least enjoy thousands of years of ageless youth.
She was just using herself as a bargaining chip to secure greater benefits from Soren.
And Soren didn’t mind indulging in sweets; he intended to secure the soul of a high-level legendary professionist and would never show mercy over a simple pleasure.
Whether it was the Goddess of Wealth, the Duchess of Red Dragon, or even the briefly unbound Goddess of Magic, Soren would never compromise or yield in his heart. If opposition arose when necessary, he would show no mercy.
“My lord.”
A gentle female voice sounded from outside the door, and a graceful half-elf wanderer appeared, kneeling on one knee and saying, “The items you requested are ready.”
Soren nodded and said, “Understood.”
He then donned a robe and directly appeared in the temple.
Soren was familiarizing himself with the powers of the divine. After so long since his investiture, he had also mastered a new ability that could be bestowed upon his believers.
—“The Gift of Slaughter!”
This is a special ability derived from the power of the Killing Domain, belonging to the category of [Divine Grace], related to Soren’s titles such as Slaughterer and Deathwalker. This ability can only be granted to Soren’s devout believers, granting them access to Soren’s domains of killing and d*ath, allowing them to harness a trickle of slaughtering power.
However, this power is not given to them directly; instead, it enhances their weapons.
—“Trickery!”
—“Slaughter!”
—“d*ath!”
—“Slaughterer!”
—“Deathwalker!”
Soren placed his palm on the temple, and a surge of immense divine power gradually spread, reaching the hearts of all devout believers who worshiped and served Soren.
There are many kinds of divine power, the most common being divine gifts and domain access. Soren’s new ability relates to [Trickery]. With the power of trickery, he can bestow his devout believers a new special power and allow them to gain a slight share of Soren’s divine power when accessing the domain.
This ability can be called [Inheritor Weapon]!
Accompanied by the ripples of divine power, many devout believers had a new knowledge of ability appear in their minds, and the sound of excited prayers echoed outside the temple. Meanwhile, all those in the material plane who devoutly worshiped Soren began to praise his greatness.
Soren’s new ability is a divine gift.
This ability can grant devout believers the power of [Inheritor Weapon], or in other words, through offerings, it enables their weapons to possess the [Soul Devouring] power derived from the Killing Domain.
During access to the [Killing] and [d*ath] domains mastered by Soren, devout believers can access the special domain of [Inheritor Weapon]. In this case, they can choose a weapon they are most skilled with as the Inheritor Weapon, which will gradually increase along with their level.
A level five wanderer can use around 200 Gind worth of materials to upgrade their weapon through rituals and offerings in Soren’s temple.
This Inheritor Weapon will be infused with a trace of divine power, thereby becoming a +1 magical weapon.
This weapon contains a trace of Soul Devouring properties; any enemy that dies under this weapon will have a part of their soul power imprisoned, thereby enhancing the weapon’s capabilities. When fortified to a certain extent, this weapon can continue to be upgraded in the temple at the cost of 500 Gind worth of materials, eventually becoming a +5 extraordinary weapon.
This weapon is somewhat similar to the legendary [Black Magic Sword].
Soren mastered this ability entirely due to the power of the evil god, and it is also related to his comprehensive abilities. Normally, after becoming a true god, divine beings experience much less combat, and the majority focus their research on power aspects. These powers can cultivate special professionists like [Dark Guardians] or be used to grant access to other domains and divine graces.
Strictly speaking, this is a divine grace that Soren has mastered.
This weapon is an evolution of slaughtering power, which is extremely evil for other gods!
Soren, however, does not care about this. The gift of slaughter he bestows is his own unique ability, such that the weapons born from offerings can only be used by his devout believers.
This means it is inherently [Limited Faction].
So this ability is called Inheritor Weapon. Once a weapon with Soul Devouring properties is born, aside from its original owner, only Soren’s zealots can use it. As for other professionists, even if they obtain this weapon, they will be cursed when using it.
The inspiration for the Gift of Slaughter comes from the rings of the Bottomless Abyss.
When Soren created the rings, he infused them with the powers of slaughter and d*ath. This power helped him secretly control those demon lords who were endowed with the rings, while the Gift of Slaughter is just another weakened version. Its main purpose is to strengthen believers’ combat abilities and grant them the possibility of borrowing a touch of slaughtering divine power from Soren.
It takes approximately more than 80,000 Gind worth of materials to elevate an Inheritor Weapon from +1 to +5, requiring the defeat of some powerful high-level enemies.
This divine grace cannot unleash powerful effects in a short time.
However, as time progresses, Soren’s church will gradually produce +5 extraordinary weapons, and this accumulation will become quite terrifying decades later!
…………
Inside the temple.
Soren spread the divine grace of the [Gift of Slaughter], and almost immediately devout zealots began to make offerings, most of whom were high-level wanderers.
As the offering process continued, a trickle of divine power also flowed back to Soren. Although this power was minimal, it brought a slight tremor of slaughtering divinity. Golden light rippled within the temple, and after bestowing the first divine grace ability, Soren began to create the first special advanced profession.
Every powerful deity will create some unique professionists.
For example, the Magic Goddess’s Arcane Knight, the Lord of Storms’ Lord of Storms, and the God of Suffering’s Ascetic, etc. When a deity bestows strength to believers in a special way combining their divine profession and divine power, a new profession is born. Such new advanced professions often acquire additional capabilities from the deity’s divine profession and domains.
Soren did not plan to cultivate [Dark Guardians].
Although Dark Guardians are standard for evil gods, Soren does not believe that this profession is suitable for his church.
There are many special advanced professions, such as Magic Shooter, Shadow Warrior, Lord of Paleness, Red Dragon Dragonblood Sorcerer, Shapeshifter, Master of Fist, Weapon Master, Arcane Knight, and more.
The special profession Soren intends to create is—[Trickster Assassin]!
As a deity mastering the powers of [Wanderer], [Shadows], [Slaughter], [Trickery], and [d*ath], Soren can selectively grant new special abilities to Trickster Assassins. This ability is equivalent to an additional divine grace, allowing assassins to manipulate more shadow energy and grasp some simple tricks.
At the same time, Soren also restricted the advancement conditions of [Trickster Assassin].
Just like how the legendary profession he once wanted to progress to, [Lord of Shadows], was influenced by the God of Shadows; this ability was given to them by their divine profession.
Trickster Assassins must advance from Wanderers.
That is to say, 5th-level Wanderer—5th-level Assassin—1st-level Trickster Assassin.
Spellcasters can also advance, but must at least possess the corresponding Wanderer abilities and Assassin level. When successfully evolving into a Trickster Assassin, they will receive additional special abilities granted by Soren.
A 1st-level Trickster Assassin is given the ability to summon phantoms.
A 2nd-level Trickster Assassin is granted a stronger Shadow Travel ability and additional evasion abilities.
A 3rd-level Trickster Assassin is bestowed the special specialty of [Master of Stealth].
…………
Soren adjusted and confirmed the final abilities of the Trickster Assassin based on his own powers and divine profession. This profession is a high-level advanced profession; thus, to advance to Trickster Assassin, one must have at least profession level 11. The abilities brought by this profession are related to Soren’s divine profession, bestowing them incredible reaction capabilities, enhanced speed, top-notch stealth skills, as well as notable deception and hiding abilities.
The specialties of this profession are enhanced in espionage, assassination, stealth, and so on.
A successfully promoted Trickster Assassin first accesses the [Stealth] domain, followed by the [Shadows] domain, then the [Slaughter] and [Trickery] domains.
Soren grants this profession spellcasting abilities.
Including but not limited to Shadow Leap, Shadow Travel, Dark Vision, Summon Shadow Life, Transform Shadow Life, etc. However, unlike traditional spellcasters, traditional spellcasters understand and master this knowledge themselves, while Trickster Assassins receive this capability as a gift from Soren. They are merely using this power and tools, rather than comprehending and understanding this power and tools.
Therefore, every advanced Trickster Assassin’s ceremony requires Soren’s personal consent!
This implies that the birth of a Trickster Assassin leverages the divine powers he controls, and although there is no strict requirement for faith, the vast majority of those eligible for advancement are definitely Soren’s believers.

(PS: I was on a train for 22 hours; it was really exhausting. However, I managed to finish the concept for the special profession bestowed by Soren along the way. Just a little cute, requesting monthly votes.) (To be continued ~^~)
