From the Sun God to the Light of Dawn to the Lord of Radiance.
Roshanda played a very important role in the history of the gods, and it can even be said to be one of the main characters in the history of the gods. From the Dawn Calamity until the destruction of the Arcane Empire, Roshanda has occupied an absolutely dominant position among the gods. He represents the benevolent, bright, and just side of the divine. Even the Spider Queen—Rose, whom Soren had always been wary of, dared not offend this ancient deity. Roshanda has become close to a symbol among the gods, especially after the fall of the former god of justice—Tiel, when the Lord of Radiance absorbed the divine profession of justice into himself, causing even greater reverence among the gods.
Roshanda possesses a multitude of divine professions.
In the past, he held divine professions such as Movement, Birth, Creativity, Dawn, Revival, Self-Protection, Spring, Vitality, Young Man, and so on. However, he later redistributed these divine professions to other deities, with the Agricultural Goddess inheriting the “Spring” divine profession from her father, and the Light of Dawn being a divine profession bestowed by Roshanda. To this day, Roshanda’s divine professions have reduced significantly, and his core professions have shifted to “Light” and “Justice,” making him the most powerful deity, a hybrid of the Sun God and the God of Justice. Once, his overly aggressive altruism and selflessness hindered the goodness he pursued. His arrogance and zeal clouded his thoughts, preventing him from seeing the inevitable consequences of his actions. He pursued perfection but was stubborn and refused to listen to others’ opinions. These flaws were fully revealed during the Dawn Calamity, but that great disaster, second only to the years of turmoil, changed him. At the time, Roshanda planned to forge a new pantheon himself, but it triggered a divine shock. His failure led to the destruction of several deities and powerful otherworldly beings, causing the collapse of many theocratic states and indirectly resulting in the demise of the “City of Song”—Maze Zanon.
This failure allowed Roshanda to grow, and the sacrificial redemption of the Father Oak at the destruction of the Arcane Empire completely transformed the Lord of Radiance.
Now.
No deity can stand against the Lord of Radiance alone, not even the ancient Lady of the Night shows him anything but respect!
Soren needed the support of the Agricultural Goddess.
He understood that, even if he ascended to strong divine power, it would be difficult to oppose the Lord of Radiance. Without the Lord of Radiance’s support, this plan would become extremely difficult.
Due to his deep-seated hatred for undead beings, Roshanda had become an ally of the God of Eternal Sleep—Klanvor before becoming the Lord of Radiance. Although they had some conflicts during the plan to destroy the Tyrant God—Baine, they parted ways again during the time of the Arcane Empire, yet the Lord of Radiance still somewhat supports Klanvor.
This was the problem.
If Klanvor still has the support of the Lord of Radiance, then the scene from history will repeat itself, where the Lord of Radiance strikes a heavy blow against the God of Death—Naraku and indirectly helps Klanvor reclaim his divine profession.
This is not what Soren wants to see!
Klanvor has proven his dereliction of duty, and the turmoil among the undead means his teachings do not align with the lower planes, which even the ancient God of Death—Ye Ge finds disappointing.
Currently, only the Agricultural Goddess can persuade the Lord of Radiance.
With Mother Earth having retired, and Father Oak having fallen, in today’s disintegration of the entire Nature Deity system, the only one who maintains a close relationship with the Lord of Radiance and can persuade him is the Agricultural Goddess. She is the daughter of Mother Earth and stands at the intersection of the Nature Deity system and the Human Deity system.
City of Harvest, within the semi-plane of the mystic realm.
Under Soren’s watch, the Agricultural Goddess contemplated for a long time before finally revealing a hint of a bitter smile and slowly saying, “My relationship with my father is not very good.”
After Mother Earth retreated.
The Agricultural Goddess has had little interaction with the Lord of Radiance, especially since Roshanda entered deep within Mount Heaven, after which she believes her past father has completely changed. The past Roshanda, though a bit impulsive and stubborn, was full of passion, kindness, and vitality. However, since Father Oak sacrificed himself for the redemption of the Material Plane, Roshanda has become another being.
He retains all of past Roshanda’s memories, but even his daughter, the Agricultural Goddess, feels extremely unfamiliar with him.
Roshanda is now more pure.
The current Lord of Radiance appears perfect, yet the Agricultural Goddess knows this is because her father has sacrificed a part of his humanity. The deities of this world maintain their humanity to sustain their vitality, while Roshanda now seems to have been assimilated by light and justice.
If divine professions dominate a deity, then that human aspect will be lost.
As a new god, Soren does not have this realization; it will take at least a thousand years for him to feel this truth.
Silence.
The Agricultural Goddess pondered, considering the gains and losses before finally saying, “I can try to help you persuade my father, but I cannot guarantee success.”
Upon hearing this, Soren revealed a hint of a joyful smile and nodded, saying, “That’s enough.”
Even if he cannot gain the support of the Lord of Radiance, as long as he does not face hostility from him during the struggle for the God of Death profession, that would be sufficient.
The Agricultural Goddess thought for a moment and continued, “If you take over the ‘Death’ profession, how do you plan to fulfill your responsibilities? This is very important, as the followers of the gods must go to the Underworld after death, and the God of Death system has always upheld the ancient covenant, responsible for sending the followers of the gods to the Divine Kingdom.”
“And also.”
“Many deities have an unfriendly attitude toward the undead, but with Klanvor’s dereliction of duty, you must also balance the position of the undead.”
This point is crucial.
To persuade the Lord of Radiance, Soren must prove himself worthy of support.
However, Soren already has a plan. He thought for a moment and said, “The doctrine of the God of Death—Naraku is too extreme; he hates life and wants to destroy it. He is too biased toward the undead, which is something all the deities do not want to see. On the other hand, Klanvor’s doctrine leans too much towards the living; his church has consistently aimed to put the undead to eternal rest, leading to countless undead being killed by his followers, which has made his relationship with most undead tense and hostile.”
“I believe that given the current situation.”
“A ‘moderate’ doctrine would be more beneficial in the current environment. In my view, the ‘Domain of Eternal Sleep’ is necessary; otherwise, the Material Plane will inevitably be flooded with the undead. However, the undead do not need to be exterminated like Klanvor; the most important thing right now should be to clarify the boundary between ‘Death’ and ‘Undeath.'”
“The current chaotic situation resembles a replay of what happened during the time of the Three Death Deities.”
“In the past, the chaos came from the era of Milco; Klanvor harbors animosity towards the vast majority of the undead and believes they should be destroyed. For me, the crucial aspect is to distinguish between ‘Death’ and ‘Undeath.’ As long as the world of the living is not disturbed, there will naturally be a place for the undead to reside in the lower planes.”
“If possible, I hope to delineate an area between the Underworld and the Spirit Realm to temporarily comfort the undead.”
“As for future matters, they can be resolved gradually.”
Soren actually has another set of thoughts in his mind, but currently, he cannot mention it, as this would alter the structure of the lower planes, especially the Underworld. What is most suitable now is a more “moderate” approach.
“To delineate the boundary between life and death?”
The Agricultural Goddess smiled slightly at this, then softly said, “If that is the case, I think the chances of persuading my father will be greater.”
The Lord of Radiance despises all undead beings.
However, the existence of the undead cannot be erased. If Soren truly intends to draw a clear line between life and death, ensuring that the realm of the living is not overly disturbed by the deceased, then gaining the support of the Lord of Radiance is indeed quite possible. After all, Klanvor’s failure has already proven that the approach of solely destroying and repressing the undead is not viable. The calamity of the undead plague today is a retaliation from many undead lords against the past. For over a thousand years, Klanvor has been dedicated to eradicating the undead, seeking to let the dead “rest” eternally, which has caused countless undead to abandon him and even stand beside Naraku, rebelling against him, the “King of the Dead.”
If Soren harbors thoughts similar to Klanvor’s, another undead calamity will certainly erupt several years later!
