Domain of Eternal Sleep.
This power is more granted by order-aligned deities. Klanvor, Ye Ge, Osiris (the God of Death from the Murahid pantheon), and Urogalan (the God of Death from the Halfling pantheon) all possess the power to grant the Domain of Eternal Sleep.
……
Soren slowly released the scroll in his hand, then murmured, “Domain of Eternal Sleep…”
If one wants to fight for the God of Death profession, then maintaining the Domain of Eternal Sleep is a necessary task. Without the Domain of Eternal Sleep, it means that the dead will be disturbed, and at that time, a large number of dead cannot rest in peace.
The situation is not too bad.
Not long after Soren returned to Modo, he received a message from the Agricultural Goddess; the Lord of Radiance seemed to have some support for him.
It seems that this undead catastrophe has disappointed the Lord of Radiance regarding Klanvor. Although He believes that Naraku should pay the highest price for everything, Klanvor also bears undeniable responsibility. Throughout long history, no God of Death has experienced such a massive undead uprising. Beginning with the ancient God of Death, Ye Ge, many undead have been suppressed in the lower planes. Although this time is due to the Saint’s Cataclysm, Klanvor is undoubtedly negligent. Perhaps because of this, Soren has made contact with the God of Death – Naraku; this ancient being seems to have ideas about selecting a new heir.
“The Lord of Radiance has made some progress.”
“Though I haven’t secured the support of the Goddess, I’ve managed to keep her neutral. Ye Ge also seems to be less supportive of Klanvor; no wonder He wants to meet me, likely due to the power of slaughter.”
“Naraku, Klanvor, Sherek.”
“Behind Naraku are many Undead Lords; His power is currently the strongest. Moreover, this time’s undead catastrophe was initiated by Him, and the death power held by Naraku is the most formidable!”
“Klanvor’s strength has greatly diminished, but he should still have some allies in the shadows.”
“Sherek’s power is the weakest; he has the worst relationship with the Gods, so in the upcoming battles, he should hide in the darkest corners.”
After thinking for a long time.
Soren finally opened his eyes, muttering to himself, “Death is still Klanvor’s domain! This means that in Klanvor’s eyes, Naraku is the greatest enemy; as long as Naraku is defeated, he can restore his power, and at that time, no one can stop him from reclaiming the God of Death profession.”
“Naraku understands this too; as long as Klanvor is defeated, he will be the undisputed God of Death!”
“Then.”
“My target should be Sherek.”
“Only by first getting rid of Sherek and allowing Klanvor and Naraku to expend some power can I have more confidence to seize death.”
On the surface.
This battle’s main forces are still Naraku and Klanvor; Soren is merely an individual plotting in secret, so for him, it is most appropriate to eliminate the other planner first.
The power of death is growing stronger.
Now, the population of the material plane has dwindled to about forty percent of the past; the Undead Lords have gained a large number of souls in the material plane, which are their rewards and also tacitly allowed by Naraku. Naraku’s promotion ceremony should be invoked within this month, and what Soren needs to do now is find traces of Sherek.
“Come.”
Soren’s figure appeared in the Grand Temple, instructing the Trickster Assassin who served him, “Send the Wanderers from the Central Zone to gather any information regarding Sherek.”
“Additionally.”
“Have someone check on the movements of the Gnome pantheon.”
Sherek seems to have taken action against the Gnome pantheon; he is a cunning deity, always finding ways to strengthen himself.
……
Time slowly passed.
With the gathering of death power, Klanvor’s church suddenly became active.
Members of Klanvor’s church are typically taciturn (to the point of being gloomy); many members joined the ranks of the worshippers of the King of the Dead shortly after suffering the loss of loved ones during undead invasions or even experiencing death themselves (and being brought back to the mortal realm).
There is no doubt that under the current circumstances, Klanvor’s church has once again grown stronger.
After Klanvor returned, the church quickly absorbed a batch of people impacted by the undead catastrophe. Naraku gained the support of the dead, while Klanvor won the support of the living. In this disaster, too many people were killed by the undead, and their surviving relatives joined Klanvor’s church.
The counter-offensive against the undead began after the Dragon Witch Sect suffered severe blows from the Giant Dragon.
Perhaps the Gods could no longer tolerate Naraku’s actions, or maybe Klanvor persuaded other deities; currently, at least three or more gods have begun launching counterattacks against the undead.
The City of Radiance finally also began to take action.
Paladins gathered together and launched an attack towards the undead stronghold, and under this impact, the churches of other deities began to act.
Naraku, as an otherworldly deity, finally exposed his greatest flaw.
That is, He has very few allies among the gods!
Naraku is the absolute supporter of those who commit evil for their own pleasure.
In Naraku’s cold world, everything is the same. To him, all living beings are a great insult to him, the God of Death. Conversely, all dying lives shimmer with joyous blue-black sparks; he revels in these sparks. Some people insincerely pray to Naraku in hopes of gaining his power. Most of them are granted the reward of death by Naraku.
The goal of the gods is Naraku’s temple.
This is the origin of all death and the source of the undead catastrophe.
However, Naraku’s temple is generally hidden, even in those places rife with evil; they are usually built underground, often as part of burial tombs. Most temples house undead creatures and other beings that spread or create death, such as banshees and demons.
Thus, the gods soon discovered something was amiss.
Because their church encountered another terrifying enemy, that is—demons!
Yes.
Demons appeared to have joined Naraku’s camp. In repeated counterattacks, people suddenly noticed many demon traces near Naraku’s temple.
This is unsettling!
Klanvor’s church made steady advances in the first wave of attacks, but when the church members discovered more and more of Naraku’s underground temples, they encountered very fierce resistance. A large number of undead creatures, numerous necromancers, and gradually emerging high-level demons.
Lesser demons, little demons, wasp demons…
Initially, only some lower-level demons appeared, but as the battles escalated, the figures of Barbed Devils, Chain Demons, Onyx Devils, Hell Cats, Lust Demons, Bone Demons, Abyssal Devils, Ice Devils, and Horned Devils gradually emerged.
Finally!
When Abyssal Fiends also appeared in Naraku’s camp, the gods finally realized the severity of the situation.
Klanvor’s church was wounded again.
Evil demons became embroiled in this struggle, and after continuously probing the material plane from the Bottomless Abyss, the cunning demons finally first entered the struggle on the material plane.
And this time, they chose to support the evil God of Death – Naraku!
In that moment.
Even many deities began to doubt whether the outbreak of the undead catastrophe was a conspiracy by that incredibly evil being residing in the deepest parts of the Hell of Bartok!
