With the divine power being seized, Sherek’s body gradually transformed into golden light spots and dispersed.
The true forms of the gods are pure energy, so when a powerful deity is killed, a corpse may remain. Soren has already annihilated Sherek’s soul, and with Sherek’s complete death, the statues representing Sherek on many dark underground altars in the Material Plane instantly lost their brilliance, followed by cracks appearing one after another, ultimately leading to the complete collapse of the entire statue. If a deity falls, these statues will automatically be destroyed, and at that time, the devoted believers will also understand that the deity they worshipped has met its end.
“My lord!”
The High Priest appeared at the edge of the battlefield and softly said to Soren, “The Church has suffered huge losses, and many giants have perished!”
Sherek’s assassins were particularly difficult to deal with.
The newly appointed legendary warrior giant from Modo was seriously injured in the brain after being ambushed from behind while fighting a divinely favored assassin. Although the giant did not die on the spot, the outcome was extremely tragic, as the giant fought valiantly against three opponents and ultimately fell.
The gods can quickly create a batch of legendary professionists.
Though these individuals ultimately lose their higher potential, the increase in combat power in a short timeframe is quite evident.
Soren merged with the powerful energy within him, sensed the new divine profession, and then said, “Understood. Bring his corpse back to Modo. Inform the temple to prepare for the resurrection ceremony.”
Finally, he wielded strong divine power.
Soren lifted the state of the descent of the deity, slightly bowed to the other assisting gods in gratitude, and then directly returned to Modo.
All present were important allies.
Whatever they needed must wait until Soren attained the status of Lord of Death; this time, the Church of Shadows paid a hefty price. The number of Archbishops alone who died on the battlefield was seven, alongside a total of around a dozen legendary professionists.
Strong divine power is a benchmark.
In the backdrop of the Saint’s Cataclysm, strong divine power also represents one thing: Soren could finally use the ‘Resurrection Spell.’
In non-Saint’s Cataclysm periods, it is relatively easy for the gods to resurrect a person. Although it consumes a great amount of power, it remains manageable, even those with weak divine power can accomplish this. However, during the Saint’s Cataclysm, it is entirely different; only those with strong divine power can attempt to resurrect someone.
The Long Princess returned directly to Arendelle.
The Goddess of Wealth left after leaving a message for Soren.
The Ocean Goddess did not engage in battle; she merely nodded and merged into the waves.
The Agricultural Goddess came to Soren’s side, took a look, and sighed, “Sherek has finally fallen. Perhaps this is a good thing for the gods.”
The battle concluded.
Sherek’s demise came as no surprise, and with Soren having united so many gods, unexpected developments could no longer occur.
A competitor had already been eliminated.
However, there were still many tasks for Soren to undertake; the God of Death – Naraku was about to take action, but the most important thing for Soren at present was one task.
To expand his temple.
Having reached strong divine power, it was imperative to establish a [Giant Temple] in Modo City.
A complete Giant Temple consists of many components, first and foremost a grandiose main temple, followed by two to three subordinate temples. A complete Giant Temple serves as the headquarters of a pantheon, where all the believers of the pantheon can pray. Simultaneously, the Giant Temple is also a signpost directly connecting to the Divine Kingdom; the limit of what can be built in the Material Plane is the Giant Temple.
The next day.
Numerous legendary professionists who died in battle, including giants, were sent to the temple in Modo City.
A grand prayer ceremony was conducted under the auspices of the High Priest, while Soren, in his divine form, arrived at the center of the temple, gathering immense divine power. Even under the interference of the Saint’s Cataclysm, after upgrading to strong divine power, Soren still condensed a powerful force.
The resurrection ritual consists of two parts.
If the corpse is intact, a high-level resurrection spell is sufficient. During the Saint’s Cataclysm, ordinary resurrection spells are ineffective, and only after the Saint’s Cataclysm ends can a standard resurrection spell revive a target that has died within twelve hours, provided the corpse is entirely intact.
However, since Soren controls the [Death] divine profession, the aspect of the resurrection spell that calls back the soul is relatively simple.
The corpses before him were hardly intact.
In the brutal struggle between the two divine churches, most of the faithful who died were left as mutilated bodies; only Soren’s intervention held the potential for resurrection.
——“High-Level Body Regeneration Spell!”
As golden light surged, Soren transformed into his divine form and first cast a legendary-level High-Level Body Regeneration Spell.
This is the highest-level regeneration spell; even a head can be restored and regrown. However, without a soul, the spellcaster may often turn the target into a vegetable.
The giant’s mutilated body continuously regenerated.
It appeared as though a part of the head had been severed, rapidly reverting to the basic human structure, yet the lost hair did not recover. Casting a High-Level Body Regeneration Spell requires an adequate understanding of human anatomy; in fact, this is a legendary-level [Necromantic] spell.
The deceased continuously regenerated before him, and their bodies grew complete once again.
However.
They had not been revived; they were still dead.
——“High-Level Resurrection Spell!”
A dazzling golden light suddenly erupted. When Soren completed this highly difficult divine technique, countless low, somber chants began to resonate, followed by golden light rising at the center of the temple. Amidst the gathering of death power, transparent souls traversed through the spatial rift at the center of the temple, directly summoned from the River of Underworld by Soren.
All resurrection spells are related to the God of Death.
Resurrection spells executed without the God of Death’s consent are difficult to succeed; even sessions outside of the Saint’s Cataclysm, when the gods perform resurrection spells, they are essentially dealing with the God of Death.
The souls from the River of Underworld were infused into the bodies.
Waves of vitality were awakened, and the believers who had long been dead gradually opened their eyes, their expressions a bit dazed, as if their consciousness was not very clear. This is the downside of resurrection spells; any soul that dies comes into contact with the River of Underworld, and the sooner a resurrection occurs, the less contact there is with the River. However, even so, they would still lose a portion of their memories.
The number of times a person can be resurrected is limited.
The power of the River of Underworld cannot be underestimated even by the gods; if a person is resurrected too many times, even deities cannot separate them from the River.
However, it was evident that these individuals were not among them.
Soren successfully cast the resurrection spell, bringing all the legendary professionists who perished in battle back to life. However, this came at the cost of a significant depletion of his divine power, and the golden light enveloping the temple dimmed considerably.
Resurrection Spell.
Has never been a cheap spell.
