“Has Naraku gone insane?”
In the distant Modo, Soren, who was secretly watching everything, was also greatly surprised.
Naraku actually used the River of Underworld as a bargaining chip to persuade the devil’s main forces in the Abyssal Blood War, which must have been instigated by the Lord of Hell, Asmothiels.
“This is simply a betrayal of the gods’ covenant!”
A hint of anger appeared on Soren’s face as he muttered, “Is He truly not afraid of completely provoking Ye Ge?”
This is a very ancient covenant.
It has existed since the era of the ancient God of Death, Ye Ge.
After the first beings emerged in the world, their souls after death were transported by the River of Underworld to the Underworld. Unless they were particularly important believers, most deities, regardless of good or evil, would ultimately guide souls from the Underworld to the Divine Kingdom. The task of the Otherworldly Messenger is to deal with the God of Death’s emissaries regarding the souls, while the emissaries’ job is to protect the River of Underworld and the souls, preventing them from being stolen by Soul Thieves from the lower planes. This has been an ongoing battle for countless years, as devils and demons covet souls, leading to the birth of many Soul Thieves each year. They continually attempt to seize souls from the mainstream and tributaries of the River of Underworld, all while guard against the powerful emissaries of the God of Death.
Both the Hell of Bartok and the Bottomless Abyss have lords eyeing the wealth of the River of Underworld.
The God of Death System serves as the first line of defense against them. Each God of Death must deal with the Soul Thieves, and the souls themselves also belong to the God of Death’s wealth.
Even during the chaotic times of the Three Death Deities, none dared to betray this ancient covenant, but it seems that now Naraku has clearly forsaken a portion of the benefits from the River of Underworld, allowing the devils’ tendrils to infiltrate it.
This is a very terrifying matter!
If devils have a continuous supply of souls, they will constantly evolve and give birth to large numbers of powerful high-level devils, while the large number of desecrated souls will lead to the Hell of Bartok having extremely terrifying troops.
“We can’t wait any longer!”
Soren suddenly stood up and said, “Activate the Arcane Tower! Activate the Misa Energy Core!… Prepare the Demon Energy Superconductive Pulse Cannon!… Start the Diamond Golem Legion!… Prepare for ultra-long-range energy strikes against the Demon Legion!…”
Devils are typically not the kind to act without gain; they wouldn’t move without having a tangible profit in hand, clearly Naraku has already given a part of the River’s wealth to the devils.
The Church of Klanvor cannot defeat the Demon Legion.
These are the main forces in the Abyssal Blood War; how can mortals fight against each and every one of these legendary rank powerful devils?
………………
On the battlefield.
A horrific slaughter is underway.
Although the power of the undead is immensely strong, they still fall short in comparison to the terrifying Blood War Legion.
The Church of Klanvor was instantly dealt a heavy blow, countless mortal believers fell beneath the blades of the elite devils, and even the powerful Breaker Monks could merely resist the devils’ onslaught in front of them. Among the enemies were many high-level devils, with thousands being Infernal Practitioners.
A cruel smile appeared on Naraku’s lips.
He enjoyed the flowers that blossomed at the end of life and considered that the most beautiful thing.
Hordes of mortals were slaughtered.
The strength of Klanvor was continuously weakening, while His power grew ceaselessly. Everything seemed to become a foregone conclusion; Klanvor had no chance of a comeback.
But!
Just as Naraku thought he had won, a dazzling light suddenly appeared in the distant sky.
It was as if a sun was rising!
Expressions of terror appeared on countless devils’ faces, and then they seemed to see something incredibly horrifying, each one frantically fleeing toward the blood-red portal.
Light enveloped the land!
A golden sun hovered in midair, a terrifying divine power shrouded the earth, and countless undead dissipated like melting ice and snow under this light. Even the spirits at the top of the obelisk silenced, retreating into the幽蓝色的灵魂之火.
“Life Hater – Naraku.”
A deep voice sounded from within the golden sun before him. The radiant figure of the Lord of Radiance materialized, and behind him was not the sun but the brilliantly shining ‘Mount Heaven’.
He could no longer hold back.
The Lord of Radiance radiated with a light comparable to that of the ancient sun god, illuminating all the land before him, making darkness unable to hide.
He raised His scepter and swung it down toward Naraku, an incredibly powerful divine power descending, countless low prayers and chants rose. On the Mount Heaven behind the Lord of Radiance, countless angels sang in unison, the dazzling holy light blanketing everything as if to purify all evil.
“Naraku, you must pay the price for all your evil deeds!”
Numerous voices echoed.
Holy Light Angels, Bull-Headed Angels, Horn Blowers, Golden Winged Lions, Seraphim…
On layer after layer of Mount Heaven, infinite angels of the Subspace God Race chanted together. Accompanied by the strike of the Lord of Radiance, the entire world was enveloped in an overwhelming force full of holy light, countless undead and demons ignited in raging flames, instantly turning to ash in the light.
And a trace of fear finally surfaced on Naraku’s face.
He swung the black scythe of the God of Death at the sky with all his might, but the next moment his entire figure was sent flying, and the altar beneath his feet instantly cracked, quickly collapsing in the raging fire.
Rumbling!
The surrounding obelisks fell one after another as the Lord of Radiance’s full strike destroyed the entire ritual in one blow.
………………
“What terrifying power!”
Soren couldn’t help but swallow hard, muttering, “No wonder He is the existence closest to the great divine power!”
Beneath the sky.
Naraku’s body had become shattered, his withered face burned by the holy light, and black mist poured out from him. Countless souls surged madly from his cloak, and as these souls touched the holy light for an instant, a part screamed and turned to ashes, while another part quickly transcended, transforming into hazy white figures.
They rejoiced and danced, shedding their darkness, and then these souls glowed faintly as they ascended, one after another entering into the Mount Heaven behind the Lord of Radiance.
The devil’s figure had vanished.
In the sky, the Lord of Radiance furrowed his brow and glanced at the gradually disappearing blood-red rift, as if sensing another presence from across dimensions watching him. This powerful being showed no fear as he met this gaze until it dissipated, then turned to glance at Klanvor before disappearing into the horizon.
He did not kill Naraku.
Because this battle determines the ownership of the Lord of Death, and the power of death is entirely opposed to Him.
The Lord of Radiance left.
With just one strike, he severely wounded Naraku and took away countless souls that Naraku had collected over a long time. The evil within these souls was purified, while the good were received into Mount Heaven.
