Chapter Fifty: Life Drain! [Seeking Recommendation Votes]

Author: Floating Tower
The twins of fate are unpredictable.
They are outsiders to the gods, only interested in the struggles between each other, aside from anything related to fate.
Whether it be the Lady of Misfortune or the Goddess of Luck.
Since the Cataclysm of Dawn, they have remained outside the realm of the gods, unwilling to approach any deities, yet no one can ignore their existence.
Soren is now confused, but he does not hesitate.
Since the Lady of Misfortune said that his enemies would be shrouded in misfortune, then this must be true. The power of the twins of fate is nearly equal, with her support, even if Soren’s enemies are not afflicted by misfortune, he himself will not face any bad luck.
The greatest ability of this goddess is to keep one away from misfortune, maintaining luck above the average line forever!
Skeleton Land.
The final battle has erupted.
Countless skeletons have piled into mountains, and with Naraku’s scepter striking down, in the blink of an eye, thousands of skeletal warriors have risen. The altar has been destroyed, but countless corpses remain on the battlefield, especially the bodies of high-level devils, from which Naraku has summoned formidable undead creatures. Although Naraku has been suppressed by the Lord of Radiance, his overall strength is still significant. The Plague of Undead was orchestrated by him, and after seizing the Underworld, he gained the power of the God of d*ath System. Klanvor’s time of investiture was not as long as Naraku’s; merely a warrior in mortal form, his combat power is not the peak among those with strong divine power.
Intense battles erupt.
Klanvor swings the ‘Touch of Destiny’ towards Naraku, which is a heavy sword of artifact level, while Klanvor dons a peculiar silver-white chain mail.
Cackle.
Facing Klanvor’s attack, Naraku shows no fear, directly wielding the energy blade to meet him. Naraku is a true combat-oriented god of d*ath, his main professions being Necromancer Level 15/Priest Level 20/Wanderer Level 15, belonging to a standard magic and melee dual-class. Naraku’s attribute template is fully proficient, with all attributes above 25 points, and agility, perception, and intelligence all above 35 points. In simple terms, this is a deity with basically no weaknesses; unless pressed by someone of great existence like the Lord of Radiance, he can hold his own against any deity.
The Lord of Radiance heavily injures him.
However, for some reason, the Lord of Radiance does not decide to k*ll Naraku, but chooses to free these souls and leave instead.
This is an opportunity for Naraku, perhaps even his last chance.
As long as he kills Klanvor, he can ascend to strong divine power, and among the other deities, none could compete for the position of the Lord of d*ath; if that happens, even if he encounters the Lord of Radiance again in the future, Naraku would have no fear.
The Lord of Radiance’s failure to k*ll Klanvor along with him is the biggest blunder!
At least that is what Naraku believes.
And now, this blunder will give him an excellent opportunity; the God of Suffering is not a combat-oriented deity, and Klanvor’s current strength is still inferior to him. As long as he finds a way to k*ll Klanvor and secure the position of the God of d*ath, then no deity can shake Naraku’s status.
As for what happens after the Saint’s Cataclysm, the gods will return to their divine kingdom, and everyone can sit down and bicker slowly!
The power of d*ath cannot be easily inherited.
Looking over the entire Material Plane’s capabilities, only a handful could inherit the d*ath Divine Power, and from Naraku’s perspective, only he and Klanvor are capable. The ancient god of d*ath, Ye Ge, has basically ceased to be involved, and while Naraku has made grave mistakes, Klanvor has also neglected his duties.
The gods are unwilling to get involved in this struggle, which is essentially a mutual concession. The Lord of Radiance’s failure to k*ll Naraku is partly to conserve strength and partly to allow them to determine a victor.
— “Domain of Eternal Sleep!”
Compared to Klanvor, who has been invested as a warrior, Naraku is far more powerful in casting abilities.
Left with no choice, he can only activate the Domain of Eternal Sleep; otherwise, Naraku could resurrect the undead infinitely, as he possesses more divine power and countless divine techniques.
— “Divine Power Aura!”
Naraku strikes the ground heavily with his black scepter, and in an instant, an invisible divine power spreads for 17 kilometers.
This is a capability stronger than spiritual energy.
Naraku directly activates the Divine Power Aura that merges various domains, a capability usually mastered only by long-established deities. Under the influence of this divine power aura, Klanvor’s Domain of Eternal Sleep becomes ineffective, and the spells cast by his God’s Chosen such as Dispelling Undead and Controlling Undead all fail.
The confrontation between the two gods of d*ath nullifies most of the additional features of d*ath.
— “Divine Descend!”
— “Area Divine Power Shockwave!”
Before him, Naraku uses a spellcasting trick, and Klanvor becomes enraged, directly entering a state of Divine Descend. An Area Divine Power Shockwave opens a path straight to Naraku.
Klanvor firmly believes that as a warrior, he can suppress Naraku once he closes the distance.
“Cackle!”
Naraku smirks disdainfully, suddenly extending his pale finger bones; countless black threads fly out and surge towards Klanvor’s God’s Chosen behind him.
— “Area Touch of d*ath!”
Klanvor is immune to all instant d*ath spells, but his followers are not. When Naraku completes his spell instantly, he sees numerous Klanvor’s followers collapse, many turning into skeletal remains in an instant, their souls controlled by Naraku’s evil power.
In comparison, Naraku has a significant advantage.
Because he is the “Life Hater,” the vast majority of Naraku’s followers are undead, and those who are not have partially become undead.
Naraku can freely unleash his d*ath abilities, but Klanvor absolutely cannot!
Bang!
A dull sound reverberates at the center of the battlefield.
Klanvor finally rushes to Naraku’s front; with just one strike, he pushes Naraku back several steps.
However, Naraku does not mind, swinging his energy blade while completing another incredibly evil spell.
— “Life Drain!”
Strange black lines sh**t out from Naraku’s cloak, then, without distinction between enemy and ally, they connect to everyone, be they Naraku’s followers or Klanvor’s. All within the nearby range are linked, and the life force of all these people begins to be drained by Naraku.
Klanvor’s strength is indeed formidable; a direct blow injures Naraku, but the wound quickly heals, while those nearby turn ashen.
Whether undead or living.
Naraku’s terrifying expertise in necromancy allows him to drain life force indiscriminately; this evil ability puts him in an almost invincible position!
— “Legendary Dispel Magic!”
Klanvor, angry but not losing his rationality, immediately casts Legendary Dispel Magic, but it fails outright.
Naraku’s casting level is around 35, while the casting level of necromancy spells is above 40, with some necromancy spells boosted by domains, reaching around level 45; this means even Soren cannot dispel it, let alone Klanvor, who was a warrior before his investiture.
Naraku is fearless.
That terrifying black light automatically locks onto nearby targets; when a target dies, it switches automatically, and nearby are not only Klanvor’s followers but also a multitude of undead and necromancer followers revived by Naraku. He does not even open his divine shield, fully bracing against Klanvor’s fierce onslaught.
