The wind and snow around trembled slightly.
Soren grasped his curved blade cautiously, while Princess Anna seemed to grow more devout, her expression slightly excited. A few sparkling snowflakes appeared out of thin air, dancing together in the cold wind, transforming into a being that almost looked identical to Princess Anna, but with a completely different aura. She was a bit more mature than Princess Anna, her figure taller and fuller, and even without any expression, she exuded a sense of aloofness.
“Anna!…”
The Long Princess gently descended from the snowstorm, her clothing undisturbed, causing Soren to squint slightly.
“Sister!” Princess Anna stood up, opening her arms to embrace the Long Princess, but then recalled something and slowed her steps to gently touch her hand. The Long Princess’s fingers transformed into snowflakes swirling about, then quickly reverted to their original state.
What!?
A hint of shock appeared in Soren’s eyes.
It turned out that the being before him was not the real Long Princess, but her ice and snow avatar formed by some special power. The Wizard’s seventh-ring spell has ‘Projection Technique’, and the eighth-ring spell has ‘Phantasm Technique’, but none are as astonishing as the Long Princess appearing directly here while her real self remained in Arendelle. This was no ordinary spell; it likely penetrated some sort of rule, perhaps akin to a deity’s avatar descending!
Is she really human? Or a god?
The Long Princess’s gaze fell upon Soren, as if she saw something, and she slightly furrowed her brow. She gently pointed a finger and slowly said, “Anna, I’m taking you back now. It’s still very dangerous outside; you all prepare to enter the portal.”
A barely audible incantation arose.
A portal made of ice and snow materialized before the two of them. Soren was somewhat dumbfounded.
The Long Princess completely redefined his past perceptions.
It’s likely that those gods and saints who descend to the mortal realm, fighting against countless legends, can only achieve such a degree.
Is the Fate Sorcerer really that powerful?!
Princess Anna reacted quickly; she reached out and grabbed Soren’s hand. Then they entered the portal together.
Space began to distort.
It felt rather uncomfortable because crossing space was not pleasant, but fortunately, the moment was very brief. After a slight blur, Soren found himself pulled by Princess Anna to the top of a magnificent castle. In front of them stood another Long Princess, this time not an avatar, as she bore the breath of a living person. She slowly opened her eyes, her blue pupils enchanting like a dream. It seemed to make one’s spirit lose itself within them as she softly spread her arms, embracing, “Anna!…”
“Sister!” Princess Anna dived into her embrace.
The Long Princess hugged the young girl before her, turning her head to glance at Soren and slightly furrowing her brow, saying, “Captain of the Guards, take this guest to rest. I want to speak with my sister for a while.”
No anger yet a commanding presence.
The moment Soren saw the Long Princess, he couldn’t help but tremble. He felt an inexplicable urge to bow down. The Long Princess stood there quietly, resembling a queen, looking down upon the world. Though she had the same appearance as Princess Anna, she was as beautiful as a goddess in a dream, and just one look stirred Soren’s heart!
Soren bit his tongue slightly, waves of turmoil rising in his heart, secretly thinking, “What high charisma?! This is definitely over 30 points of charisma! It’s already starting to affect my mind!”
Such astonishing charisma.
It gave a sense of being in the presence of a born ruler, nearly approaching the level of interfering with matter.
Legend has it that within the Abyss lives the Succubus Queen, and anyone who sees her beauty must undergo a legendary-level charm spell judgment. If they fail, they will be influenced by the Succubus Queen’s mind. This special divine domain is called “Sensual Beauty.” Similarly, there was the past supreme deity of the Nature Deities, the legendary Nature Goddess, who also possessed this ability, but her divine domain is called “Nature’s Beauty.” Both require a legendary-level will judgment.
Soren clearly felt that the moment he saw her, his will was compelled to undergo an exemption judgment.
He passed.
But he no longer dared to look at her, fearing he would have to undergo another will judgment unless he was willing to succumb to the Long Princess’s charm. She obviously had no ability to cast charm-like spells; merely appearing before him produced such effects. This reminded Soren of a saying: never stare directly at the beauty of deities famed for their charm, or you will lose your mind to their allure.
Current representative deities include two, one being the Succubus Queen and the other the Goddess of Love.
The sisters whispered something.
The Long Princess slightly moved her fingers, and Soren could no longer hear any sound. A dignified court lady approached, slightly bowing, saying, “This way, please! Her Majesty the Queen asked me to take good care of you. We have prepared a room for you to rest. Thank you very much for safely bringing back Princess Anna. Tomorrow, Her Majesty will bestow upon you a well-deserved reward.”
Soren frowned slightly, then gently bowed to the Long Princess and followed the court lady out.
This didn’t seem very friendly?
The Long Princess didn’t even say a word to him? Wasn’t that attitude a bit too cold?!
………………
“Eh?”
Princess Anna, who had been talking a lot, finally came to her senses. She grabbed the Long Princess’s fair fingers joyfully, saying, “This time it’s all thanks to Soren! If it weren’t for him, I might have been caught by those bad guys! Sister, you must reward him well!”
“Eh? Where is Soren?”
The Long Princess rarely showed a soft smile and reached out to gently pat Princess Anna’s long hair, slowly saying, “I see he is quite tired. So, I let the Captain of the Guards take him to rest. If there’s anything, you can tell him later. You must be tired too; shall I take you back to your room to rest a bit?”
Upon hearing this, Princess Anna indeed realized she was very tired.
In these few days, she had hardly rested properly. After finally returning to Arendelle, she felt mentally exhausted, wishing to bathe and sleep comfortably on a soft bed immediately.
What Sister said was right.
She was indeed very tired and also quite dirty; she should bathe and then sleep, allowing Soren to see her true self.
After all, she was a princess!
He always treated her like a country bumpkin! How could he not take her seriously when she was so charming!
Princess Anna pondered for a moment, then followed the Long Princess into the palace. The surroundings were so luxurious, with exquisite murals and sculptures, soft plush carpets, and crystal lamps hanging above. The thousands of years of wealth accumulated in Arendelle made every corner of the palace reveal the most lavish riches of the mortal realm. The Long Princess had someone take Princess Anna to bathe and change, and she herself went to the palace hall.
The Captain of the Guards who had taken Soren away was already there.
She slightly bowed her head; in Arendelle, there was no kneeling etiquette, but formally, they would simply kneel on one knee, while usually, it was just bowing as a sign of respect. The Captain of the Guards quietly approached the Long Princess and whispered, “I have arranged for him to stay in the side palace. He refused the service of maids and appears to be a restrained adventurer.”
The Long Princess’s expression was somewhat mysterious as she said slowly, “I can smell fear from him, along with an aura of calamity.”
“This person is not simple.”
“He carries too much bloodshed; prepare a reward for him by morning, and then send him away from here.”
The Captain of the Guards nodded slightly, “As you command, Your Majesty.”
The Long Princess hesitated slightly, reaching up to rub her forehead, “After all, he rescued Anna; the reward can be more generous. Have someone choose one or two pieces of legendary equipment from the treasury. I believe an adventurer like him doesn’t care much for monetary rewards.”
The Captain of the Guards was slightly stunned and then said, “Understood, Your Majesty.”
“Go on.”
The Long Princess lightly waved her hand and then walked onto the castle balcony, gazing at the distant snow-covered mountains, murmuring, “The deities have begun to appear… the Winter Maiden has personally descended to the mortal realm… the gods have lost contact. What does this mean?…”
“A mortal carries the scent of fear and the blessing of the Lady of Calamity.”
“Mustn’t let him get too close to Anna; the Lady of Calamity represents misfortune. Anyone blessed by her must bring disaster!… His fate seems filled with endless bl**d and slaughter!…”
“Fate!… Why does the closer we get to destiny, the more confounding the sights become!… Does this world truly have fate?…”
“Or is our fate ever changing?…”
The Long Princess’s figure slowly faded away.
In the next moment, she appeared outside a room with a natural hot spring. Arendelle boasts the best natural hot springs in the world, brought into the palace through top-tier alchemy. It costs more than thousands of Gind yearly to maintain, and here hot springs flow all year round. Princess Anna loved nothing more than to soak in them with her eyes closed and sleep. The room was filled with mist, and one could vaguely see court maids attending to Princess Anna as she bathed and changed. The young girl’s fair, round toes dipped into the pool, followed by her stepping in slowly, giving a satisfied sigh.
The Long Princess revealed a faint smile, gently slipping off her long dress.
