Do not provoke those local tyrants.
Although Soren had long considered purifying the bloodline, he never had the intention of dealing with the local vampires. Primarily, these creatures had been around for so long that their connections and strength were quite difficult to handle. He could basically confirm that the newborn was not a local vampire; otherwise, she would have been captured a long time ago. If Soren remembered correctly, the vampire lord of Shipwreck Bay was a count who had existed for over eight hundred years and controlled a group of pirates.
He was an old, uptight, bitter creature, a standard high-level legendary creature with a pathological obsession with rules.
Vampires, despite their long lives, often do not live very long.
Unless they are willing to hide in their graves, they will eventually be hunted down by adventurers, paladins, or other practitioners of good justice. Even legendary vampires could be instantly killed by an eighth-tier ‘Sunburst’ spell, leaving no trace behind. Vampires are notoriously wealthy, and during turbulent times, countless would-be legendary wizards and priests sought them out, all in hopes of making a fortune!
If Soren had mastered sun-type spells or had a Sunburst scroll, he would dare to challenge legendary vampires.
The priests of the Lord of Radiance could slay vampires in bunches.
…
Soren prepared high-concentration holy water, spending nearly 200 Gind.
This holy water is a special item made after a ritual, stronger than ordinary holy water, capable of dealing 60 points of divine damage to any evil creature. It could even potentially deal double damage to undead beings. If it weren’t for the obvious weaknesses of dark creatures and undead, many individuals would have changed races because the attribute bonuses provided by vampires are too high. Sun-type spells dealt double damage to them, and dominating undead could also mean direct control.
Soren only returned in the evening.
Vampires do not act during the day. So there were basically no issues during that time.
Upon his return, he happened to see Arianna wiping the corner of her mouth, with a faint trace of blood visible, which caused Soren to furrow his brow. He slowly asked, “Did you kill again?”
Arianna was taken aback by his words and then quietly replied, “I’ve already taken care of the body.”
Soren nodded lightly, his expression somewhat fluctuating. This newborn’s desire for blood was too ravenous. Just yesterday she had killed an adult, and now she couldn’t help but want to feed again. While this could accelerate her power growth, the likelihood of exposure was very high if she didn’t learn self-restraint. She wouldn’t live for long otherwise.
“Let’s go!”
Soren threw a large cloak toward her and said slowly, “We’re leaving; you’ll lead the trackers away.”
Arianna nodded and put on the cloak.
As they went downstairs, the robust tavern owner was yelling, seemingly upset because a staff member was slacking off and didn’t show up. Soren glanced back at Arianna, whose gaze flinched slightly. It seemed this incident was related to her. This discovery made Soren feel heavy in his heart. Vampires rarely hunted near him, and this newborn clearly had no upbringing or understanding, even going after the tavern’s staff.
Fortunately, she hadn’t been exposed; otherwise, Soren couldn’t protect her and might even attract trouble.
The tavern owner looked like a third-tier adventurer, and the other patrons were not easy to deal with; there were too many adventurers in this world who took up simple jobs to support themselves after retiring.
“It seems I’ve underestimated the situation!”
Soren felt quite dissatisfied and silently thought, “A newborn vampire is a ticking time bomb! She can’t control her thirst for blood at all!”
The two of them walked toward Shipwreck Bay.
Soren did not walk alongside her. Arianna left through the front door alone. As she stepped onto the street, another female vampire stood where Soren had seen yesterday. These female vampires seemed to appear on shifts. The stunning vampire glanced at Arianna and approached her with a cold expression, saying, “Leave here immediately! Wanderer!”
“Otherwise, the Ancestor will have you executed!”
The internal conflicts among vampires were very intense. The battles between families were extremely brutal!
One place could hardly accommodate another vampire family, and even wanderers would be rejected. Since the food of vampires is humanoid intelligent beings, the appearance of another family signifies a competition for food territory. If wanderers hunted on their territory, the consequences and mess would have to be dealt with by them. If it weren’t for being in the streets now, that vampire could have directly attacked Arianna, executing her or taking her back to the lair.
Vampires can live a long time.
Hence, they live much more cautiously; otherwise, they wouldn’t be welcome anywhere.
Arianna showed little fear, seemingly not created from the offspring of another vampire but having directly consumed the blood of a high-level vampire; she belonged to a higher bloodline. Thus, the beautiful woman did not realize she was a newborn; she merely thought Arianna was a wanderer; otherwise, she may have already attacked.
Newborns are too dangerous!
Arianna slightly bared her sharp fangs, her pupils turning an eerie green, and her fair fingers displayed dark claws as she glared hatred at the woman in front of her, saying, “I have no master! I am free! You killed my family! You monsters!”
“Monsters?!” The enchanting woman laughed, her whole body trembling with laughter, then suddenly her expression turned cold, saying, “Are you not a monster? Look at what you’ve become!”
“To transition to the bloodline form this quickly, you must have killed quite a few people, right?”
Arianna’s expression soured. She gazed at the woman before her, somewhat dazed, as if reassuring herself, saying, “It’s all your doing! You turned me into this! I killed only those who deserved it! None of those men were good!”
“Is that so?” The enchanting woman revealed a cruel smile at the corners of her mouth, suddenly gesturing. Her figure lunged forward instantly, and two other shadows emerged nearby, seemingly planning to subdue her in one go.
Three figures attacked.
Arianna let out a low growl and charged toward the enchanting woman, appearing as though she intended to perish with her!
