(Well. Just finished writing the last chapter, and someone has already found the model of the non-drowning entity. Speaking of which, the image posted by the image girl is a scam; every picture she posts is a disaster.)

On the tranquil sea surface.
The Requiem quietly sailed, with Soren beside the smug Naga Priestess, seemingly pleased with the shocked expression she saw after he caught sight of the ghost ship. As a command was issued, the Requiem suddenly trembled, followed by the deck of the ship beginning to split and operate. Invisible souls swam within the ship, and soon the entire ghost ship began to slowly sink, seawater rushing in from all sides, a rope danced like a long snake, then wrapped around Soren’s arm.
The first wave of seawater crashed in!
Soren’s figure swayed slightly, and then he plunged into the sea.
The Requiem sailed under the sea, surrounded by all kinds of marine life, the undrowning undead scattered around the deck, maintaining the operation of this ghost ship. The speed of sailing underwater was not slow, and after the Naga Priestess looked around with satisfaction, she said, “This ghost ship will be on standby at any time; when that group of betrayers returns, you will ambush them from the seabed.”
“Understood.” Soren nodded lightly.
It seemed that the secular power manipulated by the Ocean Goddess was stronger than he had imagined.
This goddess had not only intervened in the realm of life but also extended her reach into the realm of d*ath. Although this was limited to the ocean, wasn’t her ambition a bit too grand?
What exactly did she want?
Soren suddenly felt an illusion as if he were witnessing another Spider Queen rising.
Because he had not operated in coastal areas before, his understanding of the Ocean Goddess was limited, but he knew that this goddess had always operated within the sea. There were hardly any deities that could threaten her. Even if she lost her divine power and became a saint, how many people in this world could k*ll her within the ocean?
However, it seemed she hadn’t pulled off any earth-shattering moves?
As a goddess centered on the ocean, the Ocean Goddess also had a limitation. No matter what, she found it difficult to expand her faith to the land.
This was also why she had always been subtly suppressed by the Lord of Storms!
Soren sensed the breath of conspiracy, yet he did not know what the Ocean Goddess was plotting.
………………
Outside the Ocean Temple.
Soren’s figure emerged from the shadowy corner, then quietly left.
The core faith of the Lord of Storms resided in the tropical rainforest area of the Soros Archipelago, which was also a region prone to natural storms. Although Taro Port had the Temple of the Lord of Storms, the power it could mobilize was definitely less than that of the Ocean Temple. After all, Taro Port was a coastal island, directly part of the domain of the sea. The forces that the Storm Temple could mobilize were limited to local believers; with just a little interference from the Ocean Temple, it couldn’t even leverage the defensive power of Taro Port.
Rumors of the Throat Cutter were still brewing.
A slight air of panic was spreading over Taro Port, with many taverns discussing who this terrible Throat Cutter might be.
Some even swore that he was a legendary assassin!
It was likely that even the Ocean Temple believed Soren was close to being a legendary-level professionist, which was why they sought to ally with him to deal with that group of traitors. After all, even under the legendary energy absorption spell, Soren still retained considerable strength, which, in the eyes of the natives, definitely signified combat power above the near-legendary level.
Though there were many legendary professionists, they were not widespread across various regions!
In the entire Taro Port, as a transit point for coastal trade, there were only two or three of them, even counting the priests of the temples.
What Soren did not expect was that he unexpectedly gained a bit of legendary status.
“The emergence of the Throat Cutter [Folklore]: In early November of the New Moon Era 1675, Taro Port. You accepted the task from the Ocean Temple to eliminate those betraying merchants. In this battle, you killed a large number of enemies and caused panic in Taro Port. The rumors of the Throat Cutter began to appear in Taro Port and gradually spread to the coastal regions; it won’t be long until many in the Southern Coast hear of the tale of the Throat Cutter. [Legendary Status +1]”
It seemed that legendary battles were not the only way to gain legendary status.
The Vampire Son likely also employed this method of spreading fear to let his existence be known to the world through folklore.
For now, he wasn’t too eager to pursue legendary status; the higher the legendary status, the more it attracted the attention of others. Soren had no intention of stepping onto the stage to engage in an arm-wrestling match with other forces yet, so naturally, he wouldn’t forcefully pursue it. There was still a bit of time before the betrayers returned. The round trip from Taro Port to the Soros Archipelago would take about one to two weeks. They had set out nearly a week ago, and Soren estimated he had about seven or eight days left to prepare.
The preparation, of course, was to deal with high-tier spellcasters!
Behind the Rosad Merchant Association was a duchess who came from an ancient sorcerer family; these families were often very powerful. The wealth and strength accumulated over generations should not be underestimated. In the information the Naga Priestess provided Soren, there were three individuals who were clearly spellcaster targets; however, since he had not seen them act, he could not determine their caster levels. Naturally, sorcerer families would produce more sorcerers, but it didn’t exclude the possibility of wizards. High-tier spellcasters were very dangerous enemies, and Soren had to be extremely cautious.
It seemed the Ocean Temple had given him quite a few assistants, but in reality, these assistants could only be used to deal with low-end combat power.
The undead sailors on the Requiem were at most at the level of tiers two or three.
They could be used against ordinary people and low-tier professionists, but they wouldn’t be able to threaten high-tier spellcasters. If there was a high-level priest among the enemy, a ‘Dispel Undead’ could directly eliminate at least half of the undead sailors. Only high-level Naga Wraiths and Sharkmen Undead might resist the power of dispelling the undead. After all, the real combat power still lay in the ghost ship itself; it was the equipped Requiem cannon that was key to defeating enemies.
High-tier spellcasters were not easy to deal with!
This was why the Ocean Temple hadn’t prepared a bunch of useless thugs, because they wouldn’t be able to withstand the presence of high-tier spellcasters and might directly expose the Ocean Temple as the mastermind behind everything.
Everyone knew this could possibly be the Ocean Temple’s doing, but this matter absolutely could not have sufficient evidence to substantiate it.
This was the hidden struggle of the church!
Soren returned to the inn, and after the last incident involving the stripping spell, those Amazon women noticeably behaved much more obediently, especially after the emergence of the rumors about the Throat Cutter; the expressions they cast towards Soren were filled with fear and reverence. These women certainly had their suspicions that he was the legendary Throat Cutter, but there was no evidence to indicate that he truly was, and regardless, the Throat Cutter was associated with the Ocean Temple, one of the oldest forces in Taro Port.
Long before Taro Port became a trade center, the Ocean Temple had already established itself on this island.
Not everyone was a zealot.
Most people would not be willing to involve their lives in church struggles unless there were compelling benefits they could not refuse.
The power of the Ocean Temple had begun to manifest, and the network of relationships directly managing Taro Port suppressed the Storm Church; unless a bishop-level storm priest or a legendary-level lord of storms came to their aid from the Soros Archipelago, the Storm Temple in Taro Port would continue to be suppressed by the Ocean Temple, as this belonged to the home turf of the Ocean Goddess’s faith.
Inside the room.
Vivian’s petite figure floated in the air.
Soren raised his hand to press his forehead, lightly jumped to embrace the little girl, and then placed her on the big bed.
Although he possessed a high will bonus, he had not reached the peak state he had during his grueling journey, and fighting the Demon God of Fear required not only formidable willpower but also a momentum of being invincible and relentless. Soren had walked barefoot for a thousand miles in the extremely cold Frozen Kingdom, accumulating not just his will but also his momentum, which was the power of belief.
Now he was lacking that momentum!
Without that belief power that erupts at the peak when pushed to the brink, he did not have enough confidence to extinguish the consciousness of the Demon God of Fear.
So he was still waiting for an opportunity.
Soren had to have at least over 80% certainty before he would take action!
The room quickly returned to normal.
Soren sat on the edge of the bed, gently stroking Vivian’s long hair; the little girl breathed much more steadily after his return, and all the floating objects returned to the ground.
Last night’s battle brought in a lot of Killing Experience; though the enemies weren’t too powerful, the sheer numbers allowed Soren to accumulate over 15,000 points of Killing Experience during this time. This experience was not enough to raise the level of the Shadow class, but it was sufficient for Soren to elevate his Wizard level to level 7, at which point he could gain a fourth-tier spell slot to memorize the wizard’s most important ‘Stone Skin Spell’ and ‘Greater Invisibility Spell.’
Undoubtedly, Soren chose 【Greater Invisibility Spell】!
Because he had the Legendary Item Element Crystal (Earth) on him, this equipment could activate a Stone Skin Spell every three days, temporarily fulfilling Soren’s need for protective spells. Furthermore, he already knew the Invisibility Spell; learning the Greater Invisibility Spell would greatly reduce the time needed to analyze the spell model. Additionally, ‘Greater Invisibility Spell’ was more useful than other spells of the same tier, being one of the top spells for enhancing the abilities of Wanderers!
Most importantly.
The Greater Invisibility Spell does not reveal itself when launching an attack, allowing Soren to fight enemies while in an invisible state!
He had been looking forward to this spell for a long time.
