Chapter 18: Son of Dagon
It finally appeared!…
Soren’s mind conjured up some distant memories, not only regarding the deep sea monster before him but also a part of his memories about the Bottomless Abyss.
Dagon!
King of the Deep Sea! Abyss Demon God! Ancient Demon Lord!
The lord of the 89th layer of the Bottomless Abyss, the Shadow Deep Sea, one of the few remaining ancient demon lords in the entire multiverse.
It is the shadow of the ocean, the lord of the sea and sea monsters. As one of the once most powerful demon lords, Dagon resides in a trench called ‘Ishar’ in the Abyssal Sea. Its appearance is a hybrid of fish, mollusks, and sea eels, with numerous powerful tentacles. Its emblem is a large mouth full of sharp teeth wrapped by six spirally arranged tentacles. Over a long time, Dagon’s progeny, such as the insidious devilfish and terrifying deep divers, often dive into the ocean of the material world as its priests on its command.
In the mortal world, Dagon’s evil cult is prevalent in coastal areas. Its human followers or mud giants (tidal giants, etc.) interbreed with half-fish creatures, tarnishing their bloodlines to exchange for the great power, bountiful catches, and strange treasures gifted by the demon lord.
The shadow before him is—[Son of Dagon]!
“Son of Dagon [Greater Demon] [Demon God Progeny] [Super Giant Otherworldly Creature] (Base Life 25)”

“Hit Points: 600+/600+.”
“Abilities: Unknown.”
“Divinity: None.”
“Divinity: Inferior Divinity.”
“Others: ???”
A flood of vividly remembered data flooded Soren’s mind.
Years ago, this monster was notorious in oceanic regions, having been sealed multiple times by the Ocean Goddess’s avatar, yet it always managed to escape. It had tormented the West Coast and Southern Coast for a long time. Almost no one could eliminate it, until the Saint’s Cataclysm arrived, which gradually erased its tracks. Some say it died at the hands of the Ocean Goddess, others claim it fell to the Lord of Storms. There are also legends that it returned to the Abyss; in any case, no one knows the final outcome for sure.
Soren began to retreat desperately.
The Son of Dagon before him belongs to the demigod species, far more powerful than the Vampire Son, and even if it has the saintly form of a deity, it would still be something he could not contend with in the ocean. Just getting close to it would influence him under the deep-sea domain, rendering him incapable of action. It can be said that all present combined would not be a match for the Son of Dagon; at most, they would only be able to spar with its tentacles!
However.
These tentacles are just parts of its massive body; its true killing move is not these tentacles.
“Roar!”
A painful howl echoed from the seabed, and a black shadow surged forth; the black dragon surprisingly was not dragged into the mouth of the Son of Dagon. Instead, it escaped at some cost. As it burst through the surface of the sea, it was in a wretched state, drenched in blood, and its incredibly sturdy dragon scales showed evident signs of corrosion. The Son of Dagon’s blood possesses a very strong toxicity and corrosiveness, as any ordinary weapon that touched it would quickly corrode.
The black dragon fled without daring to look back!
That appearance was nowhere near that of a legendary giant dragon; it resembled more of a stray dog.
The other legendary professionists present all had grim expressions. The fully armored Naga Priestess also looked unwell; having previously been sealed by the Ocean Goddess’s avatar, part of its tentacles began to attack them, while another part wrapped around the central cargo ship. Between the astounding wealth and the threat to their lives, the other legendary professionists abandoned the fight. They chose not to confront this monster but instead focused on taking as much as possible.
Although the Son of Dagon is incredibly powerful!
They indeed also had the ability to flee; the Duchess, flapping the huge red dragon wings behind her, rushed into one of the cargo ships, preparing to take as many treasures as possible. She is merely a legendary-level sorceress, not a legendary-level wizard. Such a presence in a demi-plane can only be held by high-level wizards (Profession Level above 25), equivalent to an inferior deity’s divine kingdom. The effectiveness of storage spells in this world is limited; she could take away at most a portion of the wealth.
Legendary professionists naturally possess higher-level storage items compared to Soren’s meager three-foot dimensional bag. They could carry away a far greater wealth.
Almost in a short time!
The legendary professionists who had stopped to battle nearby had taken away wealth worth tens of thousands of Gind.
But even so, there remained a substantial amount of gold and silver treasures on the four remaining cargo ships. The wealth brought back this time exceeded five hundred thousand Gind. Soren estimated it was probably even more; if silver items and silver sculptures were counted, the five cargo ships at the very least held wealth totaling seven to eight hundred thousand or even one million Gind. Even if these legendary professionists worked desperately to load it, they could only take about three to four hundred thousand Gind.
These treasures have weight!
In this world, it is impossible to casually take tens of thousands of Gind; thirty to forty thousand Gind is close to half a ton in weight.
The weight-bearing capacity of legendary professionists is not that high either, and the effect of storage-related spatial items and spells is also limited. Even if all this wealth were melted down into gold bars and silver bars, it would still occupy a significant volume; not to mention that most of it consists of various gold and silver items.
Creak!
Rumbling!
Nearby ships were dragged into the depths of the ocean, and the massive tentacles destroyed many warships. Soren could see countless gold and silver treasures scatter about, a box full of Gind spilled open, and thousands upon thousands of Gind drifted down into the seawater, alongside various necklaces and jade ornaments; gems the size of pebbles sank to the seabed, and even some gold and silver items floated down toward his position. These treasures would remain at the seabed nearby. Unless something unexpected happened, the Son of Dagon would stay here for a long time until all the treasure was returned to its lair.
Survivors on the surface were already beginning to retreat.
The Duchess in a snow-white gown had taken away over a hundred thousand Gind, yet she cast a resentful glance at the seabed; she was the one among them who suffered the most loss. The Amazon warriors leaped backward, and while their gains might be a little less, they likely also netted around a hundred thousand Gind. The part most valuable and easiest to carry away, they had basically prepared for long ago; the remainder consisted mostly of larger gold and silver items that occupied space.
No one could carry away the wealth from five large cargo ships in one go; even with legendary-level strength, they could only salvage a bit of loss.
The Naga Priestess’s situation above the sea was somewhat concerning!
At this moment, no one would step in to help her; the Son of Dagon evidently harbored more hatred towards followers of the Ocean Goddess.
But.
Suddenly, a distant low roar seemed to resonate, followed by a continuous series of low roars, the sounds growing increasingly dense. Soren could see another massive shadow approaching with incredible speed from the seabed!
“Gosaru!… Gosaru!…”
“Gosaru!!!… Go… Sa… Ru!…”
The surviving Naga warriors and Sharkmen on the surface suddenly became excited, releasing bursts of furious roars, as if calling out a name.
The Naga Priestess wore an exhilarated expression as she picked up a conch-like horn to blow.
“Woo woo woo!…”
The desolate horn sound echoed across the sea surface, and then a huge shadow emerged from the depths; a gigantic head resembling that of a draconic creature surfaced, followed by a second massive head, then a third, fourth, and fifth…
On the distant surface of the sea.
A creature resembling a small island appeared!
It surfaced with seven heads; each head was nearly the size of a train engine, and it seemed there were two heads hidden under the water. Its enormous body moved swiftly through the water, as if the surrounding seawater were propelling it forward—not a natural ability of the creature but rather a spell bestowed by a deity. All around it, white foamy waves arose, and massive sharks leapt out of the sea; muscular Sharkmen bearing tridents bellowed, following the creature that resembled a small island.
“Counterattack!”
The Naga Priestess revealed a sinister smile, raised the scepter representing the Ocean Priestess, and shouted, “Leave them! There are offerings for the Ocean Goddess among them!…”
Rumbling!
Suddenly, the nearby seawater split open, and a ghost ship launched from the depths!
Soren, who had originally planned to run as far as possible, stood at the helm with a courageous expression, roaring as if brimming with spirit, “Fire! Hurry and fire! Sink those bastards’ warships!…”
………………
——————————–
At an unknown moment.
Soren wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and muttered, “Damn it! If you had mentioned having help earlier! Had I known you could summon such terrifying things, I wouldn’t have had to run so desperately!…”
“Scared me to death!”… (To be continued ~^~)
