Chapter 33 Special Prisoners
Shipwreck Bay, Lone Wolf Island.
Soren sat majestically in the head chair of the hall, quietly observing the prisoners before him. A large group of pirates who had fought against Soren was kneeling before him, dazed and confused after being taken down. They had just recovered from the attack of the mutated orca when they were terrified by Soren, who had entered Slayer Form. The overall strength of the pirates was quite good, averaging around the Second Tier, similar to city guards in various regions, but they lacked rigorous training. Their fighting style leaned towards skirmishing, making it impossible to form ranks on the sea.
A wave rocked the ship, and without sufficient balance, misfortune awaited.
Thus, the majority of the pirates were agile melee professionals. Some high-ranking pirates could even fight on the masts. The Sea Wolf was a Fourth Tier warrior. Soren found it very easy to deal with warriors now; perhaps it was due to the suppression of attributes. In his transformed state, both his strength and speed were clearly higher than that of his enemies. A Shadow Travel followed by a backstab took down the Sea Wolf, and Soren still remembered the bewildered expression on his face as he died.
One could even say that in Slayer Form, Soren was nearly invincible against those below the Legend rank!
The number of captured prisoners was quite large, and after taking down the Sea Wolf, the opposing forces nearly collapsed. The only ones who managed to escape were a dragon-headed ship, which belonged to the Northern People pirates. It seemed that they had some Viking bloodlines, with quite a few who could enter a berserk state. Soren couldn’t stop them, so they fled the battlefield. Vikings are strong human races, a branch of ancient humanity, capable of awakening berserk skills on their own. This is similar to the ancient Anya people, a branch of the Arcane Empire’s humanity, who had better spellcasting talents and could live to around 150 years.
This branch of humanity was relatively rare, with some being able to live up to the lifespan of half-elves.
It’s said that their ancestors improved their bloodline during the time of the Arcane Empire, maximizing the potential of part of humanity, causing them to age slowly.
Vikings are similar, but their origins are unclear.
Because they lost their history.
Soren slowly stood up, scanning the crowd before him. He said in a deep voice: “You should have all heard my name. Make a choice: submit or die!”
“Those who submit will gain benefits from Shipwreck Bay. I will grant them relative freedom, becoming my subordinate pirates, handing over thirty percent of the spoils, but they must also respond to my summons when I need them. You should feel fortunate. Because I’m in a good mood today; otherwise, many of you would likely die.”
“I give you thirty seconds to consider! You should learn to appreciate my mercy!”
Soren was in a good mood.
Because he had completed the fusion of divinity and sensed Vivian’s awakening.
Although he tried to communicate with Vivian through something like a mental connection, he was unsure if it had any effect. Their connection was evident, though not strong enough to sense each other’s consciousness. The divine fusion from the Golden Bone was quite easy due to the weak remnants of consciousness left on it. The only troublesome aspect was the fear divinity, but Soren found after the last battle that eliminating the Demon God of Fear was much easier this time. Perhaps it was because he exuded a heavy aura of killing.
Currently, the fused divinity value was 9 points.
Soren hadn’t gained additional abilities but had only increased the strength of his divinity extension. He needed 1 more point to elevate to “Weakened Divinity,” at which point he would receive an additional +1 to all attributes as a divine reward.
Weakened Divinity, Inferior Divinity, Moderate Divinity, Superior Divinity.
The quantity required for divinity upgrades grows exponentially, but the effects are tremendous. “Superior Divinity” can improve all attribute values by 4 points and can stack with the attributes granted by divine rank. Thus, “Superior Divinity” combined with “Superior Divine Rank” results in an increase of 8 points to all attributes, which is why the Gods of the saintly form are so formidable. As for divine power, that is a different force; divine power does not increase attributes but can unleash divine techniques and a plethora of spell-like abilities. In theory, a deity is limitless in spells when filled with divine power, as divine power can be directly used as mana.
Divine power can directly impact rules, and when necessary, can also alter rules in a small area.
Throughout history, although wars have occurred among the gods, divine kingdom wars rarely take place because deities possess infinite spells within their divine realms.
As long as divine power isn’t exhausted, their spells are unlimited!
However, the material plane cannot hold too much divine power, as divine kingdoms exist in the semi-energy structure realm, while the material plane belongs to another situation. The incarnational forms of deities can only mobilize part of their strength.
Soren got the answer he was looking for.
He watched with satisfaction as the pirates, filled with fear, lowered their heads in humility. They seemed to have settled down, and although they had little loyalty, what Soren needed was merely their submission, as their true combat power was not from these individuals.
“Your Excellency!”
The first mate Soren promoted hurriedly walked in. After this battle, the initially subjugated pirates seemed to have developed a bit of cohesion. They clearly regarded themselves as Soren’s confidants, and their awe had increased due to their victory in battle. After all, pirates are people who naturally like to submit and follow the strong. The young first mate glanced at the others in the hall, then bowed and said: “Your Excellency, you should take a look behind; we found some strange prisoners in the Sea Wolf’s cellar.”
Hmm.
Upon hearing this, Soren slightly narrowed his eyes, then got up and headed outside.
Adele was also waiting outside. As soon as she saw Soren, she nodded lightly and said softly: “There are three individuals locked up in the Sea Wolf’s cellar. They don’t seem to be human, and their appearances are quite strange.”
Soren nodded and walked toward the cellar while saying: “You supervise the wealth—anyone who dares to hide it will be executed.”
“I’ll go check it out.”
Adele’s expression was serious, with a hint of coldness in her eyes, and she nodded decisively.
During this time.
She had realized that Soren was someone who strictly upheld rules, and anyone who did not abide by the rules he set would be executed without mercy.
The cellar was very dim.
Soren’s subordinates quickly lit a torch. When he stepped inside and took a look, surprise emerged on Soren’s face, for the cellar contained three humanoid beings shackled in chains. They looked somewhat similar to elves but had gray-black skin and slightly red-tinted pupils, with snow-white hair. Their physiques appeared slender and tall, conveying a sense of strength and coordination, indicating that they were innately more powerful than ordinary humans, possessing greater potential and talent.
“Drow?!”
Soren glanced at the three tired-looking beings, who were covered in wounds and seemed to have been starved for a long time, mumbling: “No, wait! Are they half-Drow bloodlines?”
“Which migration of Drow offspring are you from?”
The fatigued one raised his head, seemingly wanting to say something, but no sound came out.
He was too exhausted.
He also seemed very hungry, lacking even the strength to speak.
Drow possess inherently high attributes and strong racial bonuses. Such foes, if not affected by hunger, would be quite dangerous even when chained.
Soren looked at them and ordered: “Give them some food and water! Then bring them up.”
After saying this, he turned and walked outside.
He didn’t expect to encounter Drow in the surface world. Although they appeared to have half-Drow bloodlines, this was still a rare occurrence.
He wondered where the Sea Wolf had captured them!
Time passed bit by bit.
After half an hour of waiting in the hall, Soren’s subordinates brought up three extremely fatigued half-Drow, who looked a bit revived after having eaten, but were still in poor condition, clearly having been trapped in the cellar for a while. Only their racial talents allowed them to endure; an ordinary person might have already perished in there. These half-Drow were strikingly handsome, all male, and seemed to have combat prowess close to the Third Tier.
Soren glanced at them, slightly furrowing his brow, then asked: “Who do you worship?”
This question seemed to carry special significance.
One that looked like a leader among the Drow raised his head and spoke in a low, hoarse voice: “We worship the Underd!”
So they were indeed followers of the Underd.
A hint of understanding appeared in Soren’s eyes, indicating he was not surprised by this answer. He stood up and looked at the half-Drow before him, then drew the Curved Blade “Ice Death” and placed it on his shoulder, speaking in a deep voice: “The Underd has fallen! If I remember correctly, the Drow of your lineage were slaughtered by the Spider Queen! I’m curious why there are still remnants of your lineage. Could it be that you escaped the Spider Queen’s pursuit?”
Soren lifted the blade to prod at his hair, revealing a special mark that seemed to be a family crest.
This was not just an ordinary half-Drow; he came from a specific Drow family.
In Soren’s memory, nearly all of this branch of Drow was dead, yet he did not expect to encounter them overseas. Could it be that one of their branches escaped overseas, thus evading the Spider Queen’s slaughter?
