Chapter 37: The Rampaging Lilian
Today, Vivian seems to be much livelier than before?
In Soren’s memory, Vivian has always been a quiet and obedient little girl. This lively and mischievous appearance is quite rare; it seems to only appear occasionally when she is in a very good mood. Soren didn’t have any doubts, as he was someone who trusted his instincts. He could clearly feel that Vivian was still his Vivian. Perhaps it was because they hadn’t been so close for a long time, but a tinge of excitement unexpectedly surged in his heart, a rare warmth emerging after the calm of slaughter.
Soren reached out to gently stroke Vivian’s little head and leaned down to kiss her hair.
He couldn’t tell if it was just his illusion, but he felt that Vivian had grown a little taller and a little heavier. If he counted the time, she would be nine years old next month.
“Hmm!… Brother!…”
The little girl snuggled against him like a little kitten for a while, and finally, she gradually quieted down. Her breathing became calm as she lifted her little head, pressed her cheek against Soren’s face, and gently rubbed against it as if to express her longing and attachment. However, she soon furrowed her delicate brows and widened her sparkling eyes. Then she raised her little hand to touch her red cheeks, pouting and muttering, “So prickly!… Brother, you have a beard!”
Smack!
Soren was instantly left feeling both amused and helpless, raising his hand to gently pat her little bottom.
He touched his chin and realized that he indeed had grown a beard. He hadn’t slept well for a long time, possibly due to staying up late, which allowed the beard to grow. After all, his extraordinary physique only ensured his energy. He reached down, picked up the little girl, spun around in place, and then placed her small body on his shoulder. Vivian let out a clear giggle, wrapping her arms around his neck and laughing joyfully. She was an easily satisfied little girl; a little coaxing could make her very happy.
But.
Just when Soren was about to take the little girl back to their residence, an inappropriate voice suddenly sounded, “Lord Soren! The High Priest requests to see you in the temple.”
A fully armored Temple Guard appeared nearby, slightly bowing as he said, “The High Priest hopes you can go over now.”
Soren frowned slightly at the words.
Vivian pouted unhappily, her beautiful big eyes narrowing. A flash of cold light appeared where Soren couldn’t see it, accompanied by a hint of murderous intent from being disturbed. If Soren weren’t present, she would have wanted to use a ‘Death Finger’ to deal with this annoying guy for interrupting her time with her brother; they hadn’t spent quality time together for a long time. If it weren’t for waiting for her brother to return, she would have already run out to rampage. This guy was just so irritating!
“Hmm.”
Although Soren frowned in displeasure, he gently nodded and said, “I’ll go over in a bit.”
After saying that, he gently set Vivian down, bent down, and apologetically whispered in her ear, “Vivian, go back for now. I’ll be back shortly. The priest might have something important to discuss with me. I’ll tell you everything tonight.”
The little girl looked a bit unhappy but nodded obediently, saying softly, “Mm. I will wait at home for Brother to come back.”
Soren smiled as he patted her little head and then turned to walk toward the Ocean Temple.
As soon as he turned to leave, a cold light flashed in Vivian’s eyes. She shot a glacial glare at the Temple Guard and a faint divine light emerged. The guard’s expression appeared dazed, and then he showed an expression of panic as if he had seen a ghost. He dropped his weapon and fled in a panic, seemingly unable to notice the surroundings as he stumbled. In the end, he ran headfirst into a wall, leaving this nearly Third Tier guard fainted against the wall.
“Hmph!”
Lilian clapped her little hands in satisfaction and said, “You’re lucky. How dared you disturb me and Brother; if I weren’t in a good mood today, I would have given you a Death Finger right away!”
“Dummy Vivian!… Speak up!… Why did you suddenly stop talking?…”
The little girl adjusted the hem of her black princess dress and then untied her hairband, mumbling to herself, “Dumb? … Were you not acting all tough wanting to compete with me just now?…”
After a while.
Vivian’s gentle voice finally rang out, sounding a bit downcast as she said, “I was thinking about how we should tell Brother.”
“Tell him what?” Lilian seemed a bit confused.
Vivian’s tone rose a few degrees, a hint of hesitation in her voice, “We. You and I. How should we tell Brother? You just pretended to be me! This proves that you also feel a little guilty in your heart; you’re afraid to tell Brother that you are Lilian because you fear he wouldn’t like you for it. You’re scared… Actually, I’m a little scared too… Because I don’t know what this is… You remember all the things I remember… I remember all of yours too… But you are you, you are Lilian… and I am me, I am Vivian…”
At first, when Lilian heard this, she seemed ready to explode in retort, but eventually, her expression fell.
She gently played with her pale little fingers, murmuring, “Who… Who said that… I’m not worried about Brother not liking me!… Who would want to pretend to be you, you idiot!… I just… I’m just worried that Brother won’t adapt all at once!”
“Mm-mm! That’s right!!!”
The little girl nodded fiercely, as if it were only natural.
Vivian seemed to be holding back a laugh and then said, “So, I was wondering what we should do? This is too strange! I’ve read many books from Sister Gloria, but none of them mention this situation! … I’m worried that we might stay like this forever! In the future, you and I will both be in this body! … If that’s the case, we’ll have to try to get along well!”
Hearing this, Lilian fell silent, seeming to not understand why this situation appeared.
Vivian paused for a moment and then said, sounding a bit downcast, “Actually, I have an idea. Right now, no one knows about our situation besides us, so I think it’s best to keep it a secret from Brother. Once we figure out what’s going on, it would be better to tell him.”
“I’m worried… I’m worried that in the end only one of us can survive!”
“You are the real Demon Son of Fear!… If you survive in the end!… Can you replace me and stay by Brother’s side properly?…”
“Lilian!… I actually don’t dislike you!… Even though you don’t listen and are a bit willful…”
A brief silence.
A glimmer of moisture appeared in Lilian’s eyes, and her beautiful eyes looked slightly misty as her voice became choked, “Dummy! Idiot!… What nonsense are you talking about!… How could you possibly die!… I will absolutely not let anything happen to you!… You are you, and I am I!… Isn’t it good that we are together?… Why say such things… It makes me feel so uncomfortable…”
Vivian’s weak voice ring out, “Mm… I just meant what if… Pat my head… Don’t cry… I should still be the older sister… Come on… Lilian, be a good girl… Call me elder sister quickly!”
The choked voice was interrupted.
Lilian instantly jumped up like an angry little kitten and exclaimed, “Sister you sister!… I’m the elder sister!… You’re the younger sister!… Dummy idiot Vivian!… You are definitely the younger sister!”
Vivian still spoke in a weak tone, but her words made Lilian furious. “Good! … Little Lilian, don’t be naughty! … Call me elder sister quickly! … You’ve woken up so late … You must be the younger sister…”
Going crazy.
Lilian was so angry that she jumped up and down, but she couldn’t do anything to the other.
After a while, she finally calmed down and said softly, “Then what should we do in the future? How do we keep it from Brother? Brother is very clever!”
Vivian seemed to fall silent for a moment, then weakly proposed, “How about this?”
“In the future, you come out one day, I come out the next day. And don’t be too reckless. At first, brother might not be used to it, but he’ll adapt quickly. After all, we’re children, and children’s tempers are definitely fickle. Let’s keep this secret from him for now. I… I don’t know what will happen in the future!”
Lilian seemed to think carefully and murmured, “Hmm… It doesn’t seem bad to not have grown up like this…”
“Don’t mention that anymore!… If I’m fine, you will definitely be fine too! … At most, I will divide a part of the divinity to you later!… Although I don’t really like you, you idiot and dummy… But you… uh… you are also quite important…”
“And also!!!”
“Dummy Vivian!… I am the elder sister!”
Vivian seemed unwilling to argue about this anymore and directly stated the facts in a weak tone, saying, “Although I’m not as strong as you, I’m actually smarter than you.”
Bang!
The rampaging Lilian kicked the door angrily and stormed into the room.
She wouldn’t fall for it!
Otherwise, that idiot Vivian would definitely bring the incomprehensible Spell Model to test her, and she was the Fear Witch – Lilian, why would she need to understand that broken Spell Model to cast spells? Just raise her finger and ‘BIU~BIU~BIU~’ and that would do!
How simple it was!
It seemed that the two little girls had previously engaged in a series of discussions and confrontations over the question of ‘who is the idiot’.
