Chapter 70 Blow Dart +3

Facing the last enemy.
Soren still showed no hesitation, his twin daggers turning into a haze of cold light, almost every strike aimed at the opponent’s vital points. He didn’t need any prisoners nor did he require any information from the indigenous people in front of him. Since Soren had already decided to probe into the enemy’s details himself, there was no need to extract information from captives, and more importantly, there was a complete language barrier between them.
Thud!
A spray of bl**d splattered out.
Soren thrust into the abdomen of the small indigenous person in front of him, then violently ripped the kn*fe upwards to disembowel him, finally executing a horizontal slash with his right hand that took off the enemy’s head. Ever since mastering the sword intent “Decapitation,” Soren had developed a fondness for decapitation attacks; as long as he severed the head, the enemy was basically dead, but if he struck other parts, they could still hold on for a while. Of course, this might also relate to a latent violent tendency deep within him. As a Wanderer, he inherently possessed the bloodlust of a berserker.
A line of data appeared.
Soren glanced and noticed that the killing experience he gained from the enemy was quite substantial!
The bottom tier of the indigenous people was roughly similar to regular folks, but their warrior class was very formidable. Their roles involved hunting and combat, mainly serving as means to gain experience and hone strength, while ordinary labor was mostly borne by the bottom-tier indigenous population. All five enemies were professionists of third tier or above, and since there were no spellcasters among them, the killing experience they provided was comparable to that of wilderness monsters of the same tier, totaling 21,500 points of killing experience for Soren.
It seemed indeed to be elite!
Eliminating about twenty such enemies would allow Soren to easily level up his profession.
“Stealth attacks are definitely more suited for me!”
Soren’s ease in achieving victory was attributed to two key factors: one was the backstab surprise attack that caught his opponents off guard, allowing for a quick expansion of his gains in an instant. The other was the support of the Stone Skin Spell, enabling him not to fear the enemy’s blow darts, as even with over 20 points in extraordinary constitution, he had no high assurance of withstanding the toxins from those blow darts. It must be acknowledged that these indigenous people had substantial skills in Toxicology, and some were even more skilled than the continent’s alchemists.
There were very few spellcasters among the indigenous people.
However, it did not rule out the existence of special beings with psychic abilities; there were basically no wizards here, only sorcerers and shamans.
Shamans belonged to a different level of priests, having notable differences in their spells. Due to the lack of true deities in the Overseas Islands, shamans’ spells leaned more towards elemental types, in other words, primarily focusing on energy manipulation in divine techniques. In areas where totem faiths were distributed, such shamans were fairly common, along with ancient shamanic doctrines that worshipped ancestral spirits.
Surveys have shown that in places with higher civilization levels and widespread literacy, the likelihood of spellcasters appearing is greater!
Soren began to clean up the spoils.
There was basically no valuable property on the indigenous people. Soren wasn’t looking for gold or jewels.
He rummaged through a pile of indigenous corpses. Soon he found six blow dart tubes and a small vial containing an unknown potion, in which several steel needles were soaked.
Soren tried to identify the items, and once he saw the attributes, he was immediately drenched in cold sweat!
“Item Type: Blow Dart [+3]
Item Level: [Third Tier Extraordinary Item]
Item Description: This is a very special blow dart, originating from the scouts of the indigenous people in the Overseas Islands. Throughout their thousands of years of history, though it didn’t bring them civilization and wisdom, it allowed them to develop some unique skills. This blow dart is coated with a refined neurotoxin, which takes effect immediately upon striking the enemy, capable of incapacitating an elephant in a short time with just the amount of toxin on a single dart. Very few humans can successfully resist it.
Equipment Requirement: None.
Effect: Deals 5-10 points of toxin damage to the target, and upon hitting, triggers a mandatory anesthesia toxin check with a difficulty of 20 points. Any target that fails to pass out will fall unconscious for a short period.”
………………
d*mn!
It’s actually a third-tier extraordinary item?
Upon seeing the item’s data, Soren was immediately drenched in a cold sweat as he realized his chances of resisting it were less than half. Fortunately, he had activated the Stone Skin Spell in advance; otherwise, he could have faced a serious situation. Soren quickly put away these blow darts, steel needles, and potions. Then he bent down to look at the captured pirate scout, who was rapidly losing consciousness, with both hands and feet brutally injured, making it nearly impossible to save him.
Unless a high-level priest performed a Restoration spell on him, even a partial rescue would leave him paralyzed.
The key issue was that there were no priests in this camp.
“I avenged you!”
Soren walked over expressionlessly, grasped his hand, and said in a low voice: “Let me relieve your pain.”
A cold light flashed.
He relieved the pain of the pirate, who was obviously in a near-d*ath state, then slowly closed his eyes. There was little that could be done in such circumstances; often after battles, there are injured who need others to relieve their suffering. After all, the number of priests is just a minority, and the expensive divine techniques are difficult to popularize. Otherwise, conflicts and battles across various regions would undoubtedly be far greater.
Soren stood up slowly and coldly glared at the indigenous slave he had just killed with a single slash.
If it weren’t for this guy fleeing, the indigenous people probably wouldn’t have discovered them so quickly.
Crash!
Soren stomped on the indigenous slave’s head, then walked towards the cave entrance. Killing these scouts was just the first step. Since Soren had intentions to strike against the indigenous people, there was naturally no compassion in his heart.
Under the dark night.
Soren’s figure sped through the jungle; the night was his best camouflage. With the support of “Darkvision”, Soren was even more stealthy than a Drow. Some nocturnal predatory beasts began to appear, but Soren carefully avoided them. Surrounding him were plants emitting a strange fluorescence; if any flying insects approached, they would be immediately consumed. In the Overseas Islands, there were quite a few varieties of carnivorous plants, so even animals wouldn’t easily approach certain areas.
Ahead came the sound of a river.
Soren advanced quickly; this island wasn’t particularly large, approximately fifty kilometers long, narrow at both ends and wider in the center, with a vast expanse of primordial jungle inside, traversed by a river flowing from another island. The river was about fifty meters wide; at first glance, it appeared nothing out of the ordinary, but entering the water was another matter altogether. Soren couldn’t be bothered with the piranhas, even if they could provide around 2 points of killing experience.
Signs of human activity ahead began to become obvious.
Soren even spotted discarded, damaged fishing nets by the riverbank. The indigenous people’s food sources were not solely reliant on hunting; they also understood farming, though there was limited arable land here. Soren’s form gradually merged into the darkness as he advanced along a visibly well-trodden muddy path, soon arriving at some cleared land. Currently, there were no crops on the land, but there were stubs of plants resembling corn and sorghum piled beside the fields.
In the distance, the light of torches flickered, and there were faint sounds of voices.
Soren first ensured that there were no hidden sentinels nearby before gradually getting closer. He couldn’t be sure if these indigenous people had any special means, so he didn’t approach too closely.
Before him stood a simple village!
From the number of houses, the population was approximately around fifteen hundred. The indigenous people had a dense distribution; due to their smaller numbers, individuals could not survive alone in the Overseas Islands. The outer periphery was occupied by lower-tier indigenous people, all living in low, shabby huts, creating a chaotic environment, while in the center stood a cluster of tall buildings, with torches and guards visible in the distance. The indigenous people operated under a tribal system, similar to some African tribes where one could have over a hundred wives; the internal class system was rigid, with significant disparities.
Soren glanced briefly and then quietly infiltrated the village!
