Space Closure!
When Soren’s figure emerged from the shadow rift, the sun had just risen on the horizon, followed by an unpredictable change in energy. The appearing shadow rift quickly vanished beneath the shadows in the corner of the room. There was a bl**d mark on Soren’s back, a trace left by the Twisted Shadow. This semi-energy, semi-material Shadow Life is hard to deal with; although it is only about a Third Tier monster, it could potentially threaten the life of high-level professionists.
They possess innate abilities to evade and semi-energized means of attack.
The injury on Soren’s back was nothing serious; his powerful regeneration ability had already begun to recover. He calmly sheathed his curved blade and then bent down to look at the two corpses on the ground.
The corpses bore few wounds; they did not d*e at the hands of the Twisted Shadow!
“Evil spirit? Or a curse? Or something else?”
Soren’s understanding of the Shadow Plane is second only to that of the Underdark, so after glancing at the conditions of the corpses, he knew that the pirate subordinates before him did not d*e at the hands of the Twisted Shadow. After entering the Shadow Plane, they had explored a bit before finding the way back, but then encountered the Twisted Shadow.
“How are they?”
Soren looked at the others around him and said in a deep voice, “Is there one we can save?”
Of the three missing pirate lackeys, two were dead, while one, covered in bl**d, had fallen unconscious. They had no idea what they had encountered when they collapsed. At this moment, a medical professional among the pirates had rushed over; he reached out to check the pulse of the fainted pirate lackey, even flipping open the lackey’s eyelids to examine other characteristics. His expression turned grim as he said, “Your Excellency! It seems he has been cursed! I can’t be sure! Whether he can survive depends on his luck!…”
There were also individuals among the pirates who understood some spell knowledge.
Hearing his words, Soren’s expression didn’t look good. He turned and instructed the others, “Seal off this area! No one is allowed to approach nearby!”
The Shadow Plane had already connected to his camp.
It seemed that at his location, this part of the Shadow Plane contained some incredible power. This secret was very likely related to the ancient Arcane Empire. The tower Soren saw was taller than Gloria’s Wizard Tower, rising like a needle into the sky, a construction technique that was quite difficult and in the style of the Arcane Empire. The legendary Grand Archmages were exceptionally proud. Their construction of such tall Wizard Towers reflected their desire to stand beside the gods.
The ancient Wizard Towers of the Material Plane had basically turned into ruins and relics, and Soren had not expected that a Wizard Tower from the Arcane Empire era would still survive in the Shadow Plane.
This thing was extremely dangerous!
If controlled, it would be a horrifying strategic weapon, essentially comparable to an atomic bomb. However, if it was not controlled, it was equally dangerous, representing that it had quite terrifying defensive protocols, indicating that even to this day, no one had managed to control it. Soren did not naively believe that this Wizard Tower had been lying in wait for his arrival. The Shadow Plane also had native life; although many were not highly intelligent, discovering this Wizard Tower would be quite easy, especially with travelers from the Material Plane.
For ten thousand years.
Absolutely someone must have discovered it; it was just unknown if anyone had successfully entered.
…………
In front of a resplendent building.
Adele Isabella stood at the door with a box in her hands. In front of her was a heavy Iron Golem; this was one of the Alchemy Guild’s territories. The spellcasters remained as proud as ever; wanting to meet them was quite difficult, even for high-level professionists like the Red-Haired Pirate Woman. To meet the person designated by Soren, she still spent three days. In the end, she found that the other party was too busy with experiments and had no time to waste on her—a woman unrelated to them.
The glory of the wizards would last for some time.
At this stage, in all parts of the world, the spellcasters were still high and mighty, the influence of the Wizard Alliance covering the entire continent, maintaining a loose structure of connectivity among themselves. Adele Isabella’s expression was not very pleasant because anyone in her position would feel quite upset after waiting for three days without meeting the person.
She looked at the Iron Golem in front of her and said helplessly, “Well then. If Lord Lucian is indeed very busy, please help me pass this box to him. I believe he will be interested in what is inside, and there is also a letter from my master for him.”
The Iron Golem looked at her and then nodded as it took the object.
Do not underestimate these alchemical puppets; the spellcasters have long since extended their magical reach into the realm of souls. All these alchemical beings are living creatures with souls, though not complete souls, but rather fragments of shattered souls. They possess simple intelligence, and although most cannot think directly, they are equivalent to intelligent computers of considerable capability. As for more advanced alchemical puppets, they are complete life forms; they possess souls and can think, and even learn to create, though emotionally they are quite mechanized.
These life forms are most commonly found in the Mechanical Mirror of Clockwork Nirvana!
The Red-Haired Pirate Woman sighed helplessly.
She looked somewhat frustrated; before coming, she had prepared to successfully and beautifully complete the task assigned by Soren, but in the end, she never expected she wouldn’t even meet the person. This was definitely a blow to her, even making her question her own abilities and giving rise to a sense of urgency in her heart.
Now she just hoped that the wizard would take the time to look at the things she brought; otherwise, it would be really hard for her to report back to Soren.
Before, she hadn’t really interacted much with high-level spellcasters.
But now Adele Isabella found that those high-level spellcasters were indeed quite difficult to deal with.
…………
In the camp.
Due to the sudden disappearance of three people last night, other pirates also showed a hint of panic on their faces.
Even though Soren ordered the news to be sealed, the lackeys still vaguely knew about the matters related to the Shadow Plane. For ordinary people, supernatural occurrences are extremely rare, while things that transcend the Material Plane belong more to legends. The Shadow Plane was quite unfamiliar to the pirate lackeys; many didn’t even know what the Shadow Plane truly was, so many felt a touch of fear due to the unknown.
Knowledge of Planes!
This is indeed a very distant concept because, aside from spellcasters and the like, many people would only expand their vision to the realm of planes as they approached the quasi-legendary stage.
Soren’s knowledge of planes is not very rich!
After all, he has only explored a few planes, but he is well aware of the Shadow Plane.
It is the core plane connecting the material world, overlapping directly with the material plane, just like two pieces of paper stacked together, of approximately the same size and shape, but one on top and one below, with certain differences between them. The Shadow Plane is a semi-material plane where many semi-energy life forms exist, so it has a close connection with the Material Plane. The Spirit Realm, on the other hand, belongs to the energy plane, where there is hardly any flesh-and-bl**d life; many exist as spiritual entities, which are completely energetic life forms, directly connected to the realm of the God of d*ath.
Many wizards have spells that allow souls to enter the Spirit Realm or to directly spiritualize their bodies and enter.
These spells are somewhat like Astral Projection!
The Material Plane, semi-material plane, and soul energy plane are the three core layers of paper, and beyond these three layers is the other spatial planes of the multiverse, all encapsulated in an almost endless sea of astral space. Soren knows very little about astral travel, only that without legendary power, it is essentially a d*ath sentence. Most of the time, astral travel is done through projection; instances of the body traveling are rare because the astral is too dangerous.
Soren returned to the hall.
The smaller pirate leaders had all been summoned by him, and tasks were assigned one by one. There was no change in Soren’s expression, as if everything that happened last night was nothing at all. As the core of the camp, he had to remain as steady as a mountain at all times so that those beneath him could work with peace of mind.
Time quickly passed.
The order within the camp seemed to have been restored; aside from the area that was off-limits to others, everything else was almost unchanged from before. Slaves were busy working, pirates were hastening construction, and some of the native captives captured yesterday had already begun to work, with double the guards monitoring them. These people could not be kept for free; once the Drow began to act, these native slave laborers would quickly start working.
“Brother!”
Vivian’s petite figure appeared in the hall; she seemed to have just woken up, raising her fair little hand to rub her eyes, puzzled, “What happened? Why is that area cordoned off?”
Soren looked at the slightly dazed little girl in front of him, a rare smile appeared on his face, and he simply said, “This area has also connected to the Shadow Plane. Three people went missing last night, and I discovered a shadow rift there in the early hours of this morning, where I saw a complete Wizard Tower.”
“Vivian! Are you confident in entering the Wizard Tower?”
Upon hearing this, the little girl’s expression turned serious. After pondering for a moment, she replied earnestly, “Brother! The Wizard Tower is extremely dangerous, especially a complete Wizard Tower. Even if it’s just the two of us, we might not be able to crack its defensive protocols. If it truly is a complete Wizard Tower, I suggest you invite Sister Gloria over.”
“Perhaps only she can crack many core key points.”
