Abyss Domination – Chapter 332

Chapter 108: Lucky Coin (Seventh Update)

Arendelle, in the Frozen Kingdom.

Princess Anna’s graceful figure stood atop the castle, overlooking the city before her. The temperature had begun to warm, with signs of melting snow and ice. Arendelle was still as vibrant and bustling as ever, yet within the royal palace, a tense and oppressive atmosphere was spreading. This was something that had never happened before, but now the entire castle was on high alert.

Because the eldest princess had left.

If the elder princess were still in Arendelle, it wouldn’t matter even if there were no guards within the palace. But now that she had left, the palace needed protection from guards. In fact, no one had expected the eldest princess to leave so suddenly; even Princess Anna hadn’t anticipated that her sister would disappear without a trace after just giving her a few brief words.

No one knew where she had gone!

Perhaps she was no longer in the current world, but had gone to a place they knew nothing about.

“It’s been three days since my sister left!”

Princess Anna gazed out at the distant harbor and turned to look at the maid captain behind her, saying softly, “I wonder where she went, and why she had to leave in such a hurry!”

The maid captain behind her didn’t respond directly but said quietly, “Her Majesty must have left for an important reason. Your Highness need not worry too much; after all, there are very few people in this world who could threaten Her Majesty!”

Princess Anna nodded gently and replied, “I know.”

“I just miss my sister a bit. I used to think the person I cared about most was him, but after my sister left, I realized that the person I truly care about is still my sister. When she is here, I feel at ease, as if I can disregard everything; no matter what I did wrong, she would help me fix it. But now she has left without warning. So many things are piling up, I’m almost suffocated, and I worry about making mistakes that could turn Arendelle into chaos.”

The maid captain looked at her and said softly, “Princess Anna has actually been doing very well.”

Just as her words fell, a sudden sound of hurried footsteps came from outside, followed by a panting voice saying, “Not good! Your Highness! The pirates from Ice Island seem to be up to something!”

“And the fleet from the southern islands seems to have ill intentions. They appear to be colluding and approaching our waters!”

Crash!

It sounded like something had fallen and shattered.

Then there was a flurry of hurried footsteps, and soon several fully armored generals entered the palace. About a quarter of an hour later, the court wizard of Arendelle also gathered; the Ice Witches had all arrived in the great hall, apparently arguing about something.

The outside guards occasionally leaned in to eavesdrop.

Although they didn’t fully understand the conversation or hear the complete deal, they felt something; that is, it seemed a war was about to break out in Arendelle.

Twenty years!

Since the eldest princess was born until now, Arendelle hadn’t experienced any war.

Now that the eldest princess had just left, war clouds were approaching.

This couldn’t help but feel a bit unsettling!

……

Soren stood on the deck, gazing at the sea.

After a while, he took out a gold coin from his pocket and began to play with it. This coin was roughly the same weight as a regular Gind. However, the design on it was different, as it bore the image of the oldest Goddess of Luck rather than the Goddess of Wealth. As for the mysterious runes on the back of the coin, Soren had no idea what they were; as a wizard, he wasn’t professional enough. Many things were only half understood, as he hadn’t had enough time to accumulate knowledge.

However, Soren didn’t entirely lack means.

He actually had a simpler way to uncover the secret of this coin. It just required a bit more cost.

“Pay 7000 points of Killing Experience!…”

Soren actually knew from the start that this coin seemed to possess some sealing power, but he was reluctant to spend so much Killing Experience. After some careful thought, he decided to pay the Killing Experience because it should be a special item of Legendary Rank. When Soren first touched it, it felt like a jolt of electricity, and he didn’t know if it was related to the ‘Blessing of the Goddess of Misfortune’ he possessed.

After all, the current Goddess of Luck and Goddess of Misfortune first appeared from the corpse of the Goddess of Luck.

A faint spiritual light emerged.

The gold coin in Soren’s palm seemed to dissolve a layer of fog, emitting a strange golden glow, and then gradually returned to calm.

“Item Type: Lucky Coin (No. 3)

Item Level: [Third Tier Legendary Item]

Item Description: This is a very special Lucky Coin. It is said to have been created by the Goddess of Luck; they carry the blessings of the Goddess of Luck and can bring good fortune to their owner. There are a total of 12 such coins, and it is rumored that collecting all 12 could unveil an even more astonishing secret. However, it seems that until now, no one has managed to collect all these Lucky Coins; only one or two seem to appear on occasion, eventually obtained by other epic heroes.

It seems these Lucky Coins have some special connection with the legendary [Destiny Cards]. It appears that the legendary Grand Archmages have also studied in the mysterious fields of luck.

Equipment Requirements: None.

Equipment Effect: [Heroic Luck], while holding this coin, any owner will receive the [Heroic Luck] specialty boost. When triggering any determinations, whether it’s attack, dodge, hit, saving throw, negotiation, or any other area, the holder of the Lucky Coin permanently gains a +1 luck bonus.”

[Note: It is said that the Lucky Goddess and the Goddess of Misfortune are also looking for these coins. Presenting them to the priests of the two goddesses may earn their rewards.]

……

Lucky Coin.

This was what Soren identified after unraveling the seal.

It seemed to be a Legendary item that couldn’t enhance combat power much, but appeared to have significant effects. Simply put, this Lucky Coin could provide a ‘Luck +1’ special effect. This luck bonus could apply to any aspect, whether attack, dodge, saving throws, etc., allowing an extra +1 luck bonus. It’s possible that in battle, an enemy that you would normally miss could be struck due to a stroke of good luck, or an unavoidable attack could be dodged by an accidental stumble.

Who knows about luck?

From a personal perspective, Soren felt it should be quite useful.

He just didn’t know if the effects of this Lucky Coin could stack, because according to what was said, there are 12 Lucky Coins in total. If the effects of this Lucky Coin were stackable, then gathering them all would mean an additional +12 luck bonus.

That would be quite a terrifying thing!

You could say he would have the luck of the heavens, destined to be the main character, finding money wherever he went, and whatever he wished would come true, randomly striking an enemy and coincidentally hitting them.

It seems that throughout history, only deities controlling luck could elevate someone’s fortune to such a level, right?

“If we follow past data conversions, 2 points of strength can provide a +1 attack bonus, 2 points of agility can provide a +1 dodge bonus, and 2 points of constitution can provide a +1 toughness bonus. By this calculation, having a +1 luck bonus on all checks would indeed be quite astonishing!”

Strength, Agility, Constitution, Perception, Intelligence, Charisma.

All six major attributes impact determination effects. If calculated this way, it’s equivalent to receiving a +12 bonus on checks from attributes.

Thinking about the effect is indeed remarkable!

Soren toyed with the Lucky Coin in his hand and then tucked it away closely. This item seemed to be desired by both the Goddess of Luck and the Goddess of Misfortune, and it was unclear what the final hidden secret was.

The next day.

Soren arrived at Shipwreck Bay, as there were fewer matters here than at Taro Port. He came primarily for the slave trade. There were too many indigenous slaves on the Overseas Islands; these natives were wild and unruly and lacked farming skills. To develop and grow, mainland slaves were certainly more useful, as most of the mainland slaves were experienced in deep farming work.

That is, meticulous cultivation.

Recently, the situation on the mainland had become increasingly chaotic, with many noble landlords seizing opportunities to loot and annex land, turning many formerly land-owning civilians into members of the proletariat. Even some directly became slaves, and right now the slave market on the Southern Coast was quite thriving, almost every day someone was selling themselves into slavery. Additionally, the price of grain seemed to have risen almost 50%, and many sensed that something was amiss, either desperately buying grain or halting its sale to stockpile resources.

The basic food prices have risen by half, which had a greater impact on the impoverished lower class.

Especially now, it is the transitional period!

Soren kept track of these changes but didn’t care about the food issue because he knew very well that the closer it got to a time of turmoil, the more expensive food would be, so he had already stockpiled a lot of food supplies in advance. The large grain transaction at Taro Port a while ago had all been purchased by Soren’s subordinates; currently, the food he had hoarded could last a long time. After discussing the slave trade matters, Soren continued along the sea route towards the Northern Region.

However, he was also quite surprised and felt a little comical that due to the gifts he brought to Gloria on this trip to the Northern Region, he was very cautious and did not reveal his banner this time because of being targeted by a legendary assassin.

And then he got robbed!

The ones trying to rob him were the Northern Pirates, a fierce group of pirates who lacked organization.

The most formidable pirates in the North were in Ice Island.

The ones Soren encountered were the small fry kinds because the core of the Northern maritime trade route was in Arendelle; that was where the truly affluent shipping routes were.
