Chapter 130: Curved Blade [Legendary]

The massive body of the Red Dragon roared past in the sky.
Its overconfidence led it to completely disregard whether Soren behind it had perished, as in the Red Dragon’s perception, even a fourth-tier Warrior would struggle to survive its front-facing Dragon Breath attack, let alone Soren, a Wanderer who seemed to lack the durability of tougher beings. Wanderers are the weakest melee Professionists in terms of vitality; even if they advance to the Legendary Domain, a single blast of Dragon Breath from the Red Dragon could leave them on the brink of d*ath.
However, Soren’s injuries were not as severe as they appeared!
The searing Dragon Breath had reduced his life points by more than a third, inflicting over a hundred points of damage, but once the Curved Blade “Ice d*ath” radiated its dazzling light, the damage he sustained started to significantly decrease. This curved blade had once aided a powerful legendary figure in battling the Balroth Fire Demon, a Greater Demon born in the Bottomless Abyss completely engulfed by flames. Any being that approached it would suffer extremely lethal burning damage. To put it another way, the burning damage from the Balroth Fire Demon was not much different from that of the Red Dragon’s Dragon Breath.
If it could resist the flames of the Balroth Fire Demon, it could naturally withstand the Dragon Breath of the Red Dragon as well.
Soren stood amidst the blazing fire, surrounded by roaring flames, yet the rate at which his life points diminished had slowed to single digits. At this level of fire damage, it was no longer lethal; at the very least, he had the capability to endure a couple of Dragon Breath blasts without being driven to the brink of d*ath.
Nevertheless!
The injuries on his body were still troublesome.
Soren glanced at the Red Dragon, which had circled back around in the air, and a cold light flickered in his eyes, coupled with intense killing intent!
“Enhance the Shadow Profession Level!”
All this time, Soren had restrained his desire to increase his profession level so that he could have the capability to turn the tide when necessary. He was very clear that he was still best at the combat style of a Wanderer. As a Wizard, he was a subpar hack, so even though he had accumulated Killing Experience to increase his Wizard profession level, he still chose to store it away. In battles that exceeded his capability, a couple of Wizard levels would be of no use, whereas enhancing one or two Wanderer levels could dramatically increase Soren’s combat power!
Wizards require too much accumulation.
It takes at least twenty years for an indigenous story character Wizard to mature; Soren had only been part-time Wizard for less than three months.
He had walked the path that took other Wizards three years in just three months.
But he was not a deity. There was no way to complete what other Wizards achieved in thirty years within just three months!
Even having a higher Wizard profession level would not change that.
A series of data appeared before his eyes:
“Shadow Profession upgraded to Level 4.”
“Earned 31 (Agility 25 + (Intelligence 21 – 10) * 0.5) skill points, life points increased by 14 (Profession Life 8 + (Constitution 22 – 10) * 0.5).”
“Mastered Shadow Talent Ability [Shadow Leap]!”
“Promoted to a fourth-tier Professionist.”
“Gained an additional Specialty point!…”
………………
“Shadow Profession upgraded to Level 5.”
“Earned 31 (Agility 25 + (Intelligence 21 – 10) * 0.5) skill points, life points increased by 14 (Profession Life 8 + (Constitution 22 – 10) * 0.5).”
“Mastered Shadow Talent Specialty [Roll Dodge]!”
“Received a free attribute point.”
“Received a Specialty point.”
“Total level of Wanderer Profession is 12, earned an extra Weapon point!…”
………………
All the Killing Experience was consumed like flowing water, but Soren’s Wanderer level shot upwards!
His total Wanderer level reached 12, not only did he receive a free attribute point and a Specialty point, but also an additional Weapon point. With the total profession level reaching fourth-tier, Soren gained another Specialty point, leading to an explosive increase in power after he consecutively leveled up two profession levels!
“Choose Specialty [Intuitive Dodge]!”
Soren’s figure darted out from the sea of flames; after upgrading his Wanderer profession level, the first Specialty he selected was [Intuitive Dodge]. This was the most powerful dodging Specialty of super ability type. If not for the insufficient prior accumulation, he would have long chosen its capabilities because [Intuitive Dodge] is a super-powered dodging Specialty that does not require much judgment. It directly gains the Sixth Sense bestowed by perception.
“Intuitive Dodge [Special Ability]: From now on, you will possess a strong intuitive dodging ability. When caught off guard or attacked by an invisible enemy, you can retain the reflex dodging ability brought by Agility. Furthermore, from now on, you will have a slight Sixth Sense, allowing you to feel the attacks directed at you in advance. This predictive ability is influenced by perception.” [Note: The higher the perception, the stronger the prediction ability against attacks.]
With the mastering of the intuitive dodging specialty, Soren’s body suddenly twitched.
Then, without even looking back, he horizontally held the curved blade to block an arrow shot from behind, the sound of a metallic clang resonating as Soren’s figure slipped into the shadows.
He entered a stealth state!
This is the power of Intuitive Dodge, allowing predictions based on intuition. Although Soren’s perception was not very high, the bonus from 16 points of perception at least equated to an extra 3 points of dodging ability.
………………
“Consume a Weapon point, master the Specialty Curved Blade [Master]!”
Soren’s gaze turned cold as he locked onto the Red Dragon in the sky while simultaneously becoming completely invisible, moving along the trajectory of the Red Dragon’s flight. He was waiting for the moment the Red Dragon landed, for the Dragon Breath couldn’t last forever. After the first round of Dragon Breath, the Red Dragon would attempt to dive down to attack its enemies, followed by a fierce Dragon Wing Strike, finishing with a sweeping Dragon Tail as a final k*ll. Soren had dealt with Dragons more than once or twice; their instinctive attack patterns were quite similar. As long as someone attracted their attention, he could find an opportunity to sneak attack.
But before that!
He still needed to enhance his lethality; the Intuitive Dodge Specialty had greatly increased his survival ability, and now it was time to improve his combat power.
Soren was ready to acquire his first legendary combat Specialty in this moment!
“Consume a Specialty point, master the Specialty Curved Blade [Legendary]!”
As the last Specialty point was consumed, the Legendary Curved Blade “Ice d*ath” in Soren’s hand emitted a joyous trembling sound as if it sensed something, like the delightful sound of the blade being vibrated. As a Legendary Curved Blade with simple consciousness, it seemed to feel that its master was now capable of using it like those from legendary tales.
“Curved Blade [Legendary]: You are now a legendary master of the curved blade, and there are hardly any people in the world more skilled in curved blade combat than you. Your mastery of this weapon rivals that of the Legendary Sword Saint, making you nothing short of transcendent. Perhaps only a few epic figures or certain deities fond of using curved blades can compete with your mastery of this weapon. This weapon has become a part of your body; you can use it to deal greater damage anytime. [Hit +5, Damage +5, Attack Speed +3, Critical Hit Multiplier +1, Fatal Attack +1]”
A wondrous state.
When Soren upgraded his Specialty to Curved Blade [Legendary], he seemed to enter a remarkably extraordinary state in an instant.
He could sense the simple consciousness within the Legendary Curved Blade “Ice d*ath.” He felt the sensation of airflow passing over the blade, as if the nerve endings of his skin had extended to the curved blade. It was clearly the airflow brushing against the blade’s edge, but it felt like the air was blowing over his own skin. It was a rather marvelous feeling, as though the curved blade had turned into a part of his body. He could distinctly feel the air parted when the blade was swung, the quivering of the blade when blocking an enemy’s attack, and how slight the error would be in the next attack, and how much impact it would have when hitting the enemy.
For even the air resistance in contact with the curved blade was part of Soren’s perception!
So fascinating.
Soren actually felt a sense of ‘unity of man and blade’.
