Abyss Domination – Chapter 385

Chapter 156: Dragon Eggs

The arrival of Lady Wealth’s priest made Soren feel a bit wary.

As he grew stronger, it was inevitable that he would attract the attention of many established powerful forces. Perhaps when Soren was not strong enough, these forces would choose to ignore him, but once he broke through a certain critical point, he would, without a doubt, come into contact with them. Fortunately, it was Lady Wealth’s priest who came; if the Storm Temple had secretly sent someone to approach him, things would be more troublesome.

Being close to the tropical rainforest of the Amazons, rejecting them could easily lead to an attack.

Ultimately, it came down to not being strong enough!

If Soren could disregard the influence of the Ocean Temple on him, he could confidently say, “This is my territory.”

Advance to the Legendary Domain!

Soren felt that he needed to speed up his strength increase. If there were about three legendary-level powerhouses stationed, no temple or church would dare to act recklessly.

So after settling Lady Wealth’s priest, Soren could take his people to deal with those bipedal wyverns.

With Gloria in the camp and the Wizard’s Eye monitoring the rift in the Shadow Plane, he wasn’t worried about their discovery of the secret here. Thus, he set off early with a group of subordinates to hunt those bipedal wyverns. As dangerous lesser dragon species, they could provide Soren with rich killing experience, certainly leveling up a wizard. However, he needed to avoid casualties; hunting these bipedal wyverns alone was unrealistic, as their numbers likely exceeded one hand’s count.

Behind the mountains was a cliff.

Soren established a brick factory here, with craftsmen from the East busily working. Behind a stretch of red earth was a small river, leading to the territory of the bipedal wyverns.

The excrement of the bipedal wyverns deterred other creatures from approaching.

All of Soren’s subordinates were of at least third tier, including elites who had participated in the battle against the White Dragon. The process of making dragon skin armor was not easy and might require the craftsmanship of the Drow. A team climbed the mountain path, and before they got close to the cliff, they heard the low growls of the bipedal wyverns. These lesser dragon species noticed them but did not attack; instead, they roared to drive them away.

Whoosh!

Soren shot an arrow that struck one of the bipedal wyvern’s wings. This provocation infuriated the beasts, and then two of them roared and swooped down from the sky.

“Get back!”

Soren shouted, drawing out the Curved Blade “Ice Death.” He leaped fiercely and pierced into the bipedal wyvern’s abdomen. The force of the descent knocked him back, but it also became an impact that allowed him to gut the bipedal wyvern in front of him. A nearly two-meter-long wound was opened, and a large amount of blood and intestines spilled out. Finally, the bipedal wyvern crashed to the ground, half of its wing smashing into Soren’s abdomen.

“Cough cough!”

Soren coughed, spitting out a mouthful of blood. He suffered significant bruising from the collision, but this price was worth it; the bipedal wyvern in front of him was almost dead.

Thud!

The Curved Blade entered the bipedal wyvern’s skull and directly decapitated the target.

A series of data appeared:

“Activated Sword Intent [Decapitation]!”

“You dealt 72 slashing damage to the target!… Decapitation successful!… Target dead!……”

“You gained 5600 points of killing experience!”

………………

Soren’s side achieved a dazzling victory. However, his subordinates were not faring as well. While they had hit the enemy with javelins as they spread out, one was hit head-on by a bipedal wyvern, its iron-clad armor failing to stop the sharp claws of the bipedal wyvern, which nearly pierced through and left the chest a bloody mess, even lifting the ribs.

The ferocity of a large lesser dragon’s charge was tremendous. With its substantial body advantage, its strength was enough to toss a mammoth.

A single dive attack killed one of Soren’s subordinates, and the bipedal wyvern immediately flapped its wings, attempting to take off.

Soren would not allow them to get airborne. He picked up a javelin and threw it while shouting, hitting the enemy’s wing and causing it to stumble and fall to the ground. Without the chance to ascend, the bipedal wyvern swept its tail and attempted to bite the closest person.

“Let me do it!”

Soren needed to harvest killing experience and could not let his subordinates trap it to death. He shouted, “Everyone spread out and attack it with javelins.”

—— “Brute Force Technique!”

—— “Acceleration Technique!”

Soren activated the constant acceleration spell on his legendary boots, transforming into a blurred figure rushing forward.

Although constant spell equipment could remain activated all day, it wasn’t always convenient in daily life, and at times, it couldn’t achieve surprise and victory. Most of these constant spells were activated in battle; some, which used special means like tattoos or other methods to remain with the user, required specific environments to function well.

For example, a constant spell like ‘Dragon Wing Technique.’

Exposing it from the start could lead to counterproductive results, as ‘Dispersion Technique’ sometimes could destroy these constant spells.

Clang!

The Curved Blade sliced through the back of the bipedal wyvern, and after experiencing the battles against the White Dragon and Red Dragon, Soren could be said to handle these lesser dragon species with ease.

It might be more dangerous in one-on-many situations, but with his subordinates providing distraction and assistance, it was quite easy.

Swish, swish, swish!

Accompanied by a flurry of blade light, the bipedal wyvern before him was quickly killed. Soren stood beside the corpse, gasping for breath, and then said solemnly, “Go up directly! Don’t bother with these corpses; we’ll take them back later!”

The rugged mountain path wound upwards.

Sometimes there was no path at all, so they had to rely on flying shuttles. Soon, they reached the wyvern’s nest.

They then saw two bipedal wyverns left behind.

The wyverns guarding the nest did not help when their companions were attacked, nor did they flee in the presence of a strong enemy. Thus, the situation was clear. After Soren came up and hesitated for a moment, he looked past the bipedal wyverns that were snarling but not attacking and saw several dragon eggs hidden behind them.

It seemed that spring was the season for wyverns to lay eggs, and during the summer and autumn, the animals became fat and strong, allowing them to capture enough food to nourish and hatch the eggs.

“Be careful!”

Soren glanced seriously at the eggs and then instructed, “Everyone back off and do not attack those dragon eggs.”

“Those dragon eggs may still have some use!”

Taming lesser dragon species was exceedingly difficult.

However, if they started from the dragon eggs, the difficulty of domestication would be significantly lowered. Bipedal wyverns grew quickly; as long as there was enough food, they could reach over a thousand pounds in weight within six months. Although Soren did not know how to tame a wyvern, there were techniques for taming petrified lizards among the Drow, as giant lizard-like creatures were very similar to lesser dragon species, indicating about a 30% chance of success in taming.

A roughly 30% chance was enough for Soren to expend energy on a try!

Upon hearing this, the others immediately retreated, while Soren moved closer to the two bipedal wyverns. They appeared very uneasy facing Soren’s approach but did not leave their nest. Whether pureblooded dragon species or hybrid lesser dragon species, the chances of laying eggs were not high, so they would often go to great lengths to protect the dragon eggs.

Clang!

A cold light flickered.

Soren’s figure mysteriously vanished and appeared behind the bipedal wyvern, but he did not attack the enemy in front of him. Instead, he dashed directly towards the dragon eggs, collecting five of them at a dazzling speed.

“Attack!”

Soren turned and thrust his blade into the enemy’s back while shouting, “Kill them!”

As long as they didn’t have to worry about damaging the dragon eggs, they could attack freely.

The bipedal wyverns before them simply could not match their strength. If Soren transformed into the Slayer, defeating these bipedal wyverns would be effortless.
