A cold light appeared.
The patrolling guard fell slowly to the ground, clutching his neck. Just before the guard collapsed, Soren reached out to drag his body and then placed it in a dark corner around the bend. He wouldn’t have much time; the patrol guards changed shifts at regular intervals, and once they discovered the anomalies or saw these bodies, the alarm would surely sound soon.

Soren observed expressionlessly before crouching and leaping, landing softly on the roof of the adjacent building.
