Chapter Sixty-Two: The Fall of the Deity
The tall woman’s figure landed.
However, she still stepped forward with her right leg, adopting a half-bow stance, ready to strike at any moment. Soren also crouched slightly, holding a finely crafted dagger, looking as if he was prepared for battle. The recent hidden loss made him feel a bit stifled; even as a Legendary Rank Master of Fist, he shouldn’t have been easily overpowered. What worried him most wasn’t the opponent’s combat ability, but those damned gloves—the electrical currents were utterly revolting for a Wanderer like him.
Among various elemental attacks, electrical damage is the most likely to trigger negative states, which anyone who has ever accidentally come into contact with household wiring would understand.
Those gloves were probably not Legendary Equipment, but they didn’t seem far off!
The Eastern Dance Maiden quickly approached the tall woman, nearly throwing herself into her arms, then wrapped her slender waist, joyfully exclaiming, “Ti! What are you doing here?”
The tall woman’s attention remained on Soren, and she softly replied, “I heard the princess assigned you a task. I was a bit worried about the difficulty and feared you might encounter danger, so I came by.”
“Be careful of this man.”
“He’s very dangerous and seems quite evil!”
Aura.
It seemed the other party could see the aura surrounding Soren through some means. As the Pirate King who ruled the three seas, if Soren were to be subjected to a detection spell concerning factions, the aura would undoubtedly be extremely evil. The East has many mysterious methods, though it isn’t a land conducive to Wizards, but professionists from the Eastern Kingdom seem to grasp some unique specialty abilities during their training.
Sixth Sense.
One of the most powerful supernatural specialties!
A talent Soren longed for but couldn’t reach. In fact, he’d spent significant effort just to obtain a weakened version of Intuitive Evasion. To acquire a stronger Sixth Sense, he’d likely have to rely on some kind of fortuitous encounter or step into the domain of deities himself. As for the more advanced Ultra Sixth Sense, that belongs to legendary specialties. There are fewer than ten in the entire world who possess such a specialty. (Note: The Sixth Sense is akin to an innate superpower, which is almost impossible to cultivate afterward. Through training, one can only master Intuitive Evasion. Once a Legendary Monk reaches a certain level, their perception may further enhance into the Sixth Sense specialty, as it is a talent-type supernatural specialty.)
“He… he seems fine…”
Upon hearing this, the Eastern Dance Maiden looked up at Soren, her expression somewhat complicated. She softly said, “Let’s talk about this later. Can you all stop for now?”
“He saved me once!”
“He’s not an enemy. Ti. Let’s sit down and talk, okay?”
Upon hearing the Eastern Dance Maiden’s words, the tall woman slightly raised her beautiful willow-like brows, then glanced at Soren and slowly relaxed her stance. Soren furrowed his brows as he observed the Eastern Dance Maiden and her, and then he also sheathed his finely crafted dagger, casually pulling out the Curved Blade “Ice Death” from the ground. His gaze remained fixed on the tall woman.
Master of Fist—Ti.
A very strong woman.
However, if she truly shows her full hand, Soren wouldn’t be afraid of her.
The fighting style of the Master of Fist is similar to that of the Sword Saint, both pursuing extremes. Such combat skills might be impressive but also have evident weaknesses. Grasping an opportunity can lead to an instant takedown. This type of advanced profession might be formidable in one-on-one combat, but if the enemies overwhelm them, their situation becomes perilous. Simply put, Soren had endured over a dozen punches from her. Now, he bore only slight injuries, but if she were hit by Soren once, the injury would be severe.
Because Master of Fist fights solely with gloves and wears virtually no armor. (Note: Master of Fist cannot even wear leather armor, at most only wearing arm guards, and the woman before him has none equipped.)
The group moved closer to the oasis.
The Eastern Dance Maiden whispered to her, seemingly recounting the events that had happened earlier. Occasionally, the tall Ti would glance back at Soren, her expression slightly astonished.
Soren sat at the side, fiddling with the campfire, quietly polishing his curved blade, seemingly uninterested in their conversation.
“Wait a moment.”
Ti looked at Soren again and softly said, “Are you saying he might have taken down the Balroth Fire Demon below? How is that possible? The Balroth Fire Demon isn’t even a match for me! With this man’s strength, he probably wouldn’t even get close to it!…”
The Eastern Dance Maiden secretly glanced at Soren, quietly stating, “It’s quite possible! The area collapsed completely below!”
“But I didn’t see it.”
“Maybe just now he didn’t reveal his true strength or perhaps he still has injuries.”
Ti gently shook her head, seemingly still skeptical.
After a moment.
She slowly approached Soren and softly said, “Thank you! If it weren’t for you, Zi would probably be in great danger today.”
Zi?!
Is that the name of the Eastern Dance Maiden?
Their names are indeed strange, all single-syllable, and it seems they have never mentioned their surnames.
Soren looked up at her.
At that moment, he finally saw the woman’s true appearance: willow-like brows, almond-shaped eyes, an oval face, cherry-like lips, a prominent nose, long black hair—she encompassed every beautiful characteristic of Eastern women from any angle. Clearly, she had the delicate beauty imbued with Eastern charm, yet in battle, one wouldn’t expect her to be so fierce and powerful.
Full bosom, slender waist, long and strong thighs.
Soren’s gaze lingered on her fair, slender thighs. He had encountered Masters of Fist before, but it was his first time meeting one who could train their strength to their legs quite like this.
Qi!
Soren wasn’t sure if it was the power of Qi or if the woman’s talent was genuinely astonishing.
However, this woman undoubtedly left a deep impression on him, significantly addressing some of his combat vulnerabilities. What seemed like an overwhelmingly fierce whip kick could surprisingly mix in hidden strength, so he should be more cautious when encountering professionists from the East in the future. He had traveled through the Eastern Kingdom but had not partaken in its training; perhaps someday he could give it a try. Even Druids and Rangers could learn from professionists of the Eastern Kingdom, so as a Wanderer, he surely had the opportunity to take what he needed and supplement what he lacked.
“Let’s take a break.”
Soren adjusted the campfire, looked up at the dim starry sky, and slowly said, “I’ll keep watch. Tomorrow I plan to leave, so since you’ve obtained what you need, it would be best for you to leave here early.”
As soon as he finished speaking.
The approaching Eastern Dance Maiden shuddered, but it wasn’t because of Soren’s words; she simply pointed toward the sky in astonishment, her expression somewhat horrified, exclaiming incoherently, “Look!… You!… You all look over there!… The stars!… No!… It’s not!… It’s the stars!… They’re falling!…”
Soren immediately turned to look in the direction the Eastern Dance Maiden was pointing.
Ti quickly also looked up at the sky, and they saw a star far in the distance suddenly dim to an extreme, like a light bulb about to burn out.
Then, it vanished without a trace!
But that was merely the beginning; after its brightness completely disappeared, a dazzling light suddenly appeared in its former position!
This was completely different from the initial light.
Before, its light resembled a star; although visible, it was far away, akin to Earth and the starry sky. But now, the light felt as if it were right in front of them, as if it had shifted from two different dimensional planes to appearing on the same plane. The radiant stars streaked across the sky, falling like meteors; though it lasted only a moment, it still left an intense shock that was indescribable.
Soren stood up.
He continuously stared at the direction of the falling stars, his expression more serious than ever.
Because.
A deity had fallen!
He didn’t know which deity had fallen, but he understood that if such an anomaly appeared in the sky, then surely a True God had perished.
He was dead.
Even gods high above will eventually face death.
