Chapter Sixty-Four: Brewing
The night sky was quiet.
Soren sat cross-legged by the campfire, his hands resting on his knees as he held the Curved Blade “Ice d*ath.” This was the practice method of the Sword Saint, a mysterious realm similar to meditation and contemplation. At the moment when the mind reached its utmost calmness, the sensory world would capture tremors in an instant, which is why a Sword Saint’s strikes were always so precise and lethal. This was also the foundational training for mastering the legendary specialty of “Weakness Insight,” which Soren, as a Wanderer, would surely need to invest effort in mastering in the future.
Ti was also sitting cross-legged.
However, she was not meditating; she simply sat quietly, appearing very relaxed and vaguely reminiscent of the Master of Fist that Soren had met before. The Eastern Dance Maiden rested her head on Ti’s long and strong thigh. The relationship between these two women made Soren feel a bit strange, unsure if they were indeed very close or if there was something special about their relationship. The Ti before him at that moment looked like a gentle older sister, occasionally reaching out to gently stroke the Eastern Dance Maiden’s long hair.
Her gaze was very clear.
Soren had never seen such a clear look; it represented a pure heart and a form of pure power.
Body, mind, soul.
The Master of Fist’s training was quite similar to that of a Monk; they could attain a pure physique through training, becoming completely immune to any disease effects. With further training, the Master of Fist’s body would gradually approach perfection, rendering them immune to any toxin effects. Upon reaching a certain level of training, their mind would become extremely pure, and both their body and spirit would enter a mysterious “ethereal” state. Ultimately, the Master of Fist would also cultivate to the realm of “Transcendence,” just like the Monk.
In simple terms.
The woman before him had reached the unity of “Qi, Spirit, and Mind,” and her incredibly clear gaze represented a kind of real existing power.
“Your mind is not at peace.”
Ti gazed at Soren for a long time and suddenly spoke, “Though you have extraordinary concentration, as long as your mind has not truly settled, you will never be able to feel the true path of cultivation.”
Soren slowly raised his head and said in a deep voice, “What should I do?”
“I cannot teach you,” Ti gently shook her head, taking off the hair tie behind her, letting her black hair fall. She reached out to lightly stroke the Eastern Dance Maiden’s cheek and said softly, “In the Eastern Kingdom, everyone cultivates in their own way. Even within the same sect of the monastery, the methods of cultivation can vary.”
“You have a strong conviction!”
“I can sense it. This is a good thing. When you find the path of cultivation, this conviction will become your greatest motivation.”
Ti paused for a moment before continuing, “When I left my homeland, I met a Druid.”
“He, like you, is from the other side of the continent. Although he had some mysterious spells that allowed him to reach the Eastern Kingdom quickly, he ultimately chose to walk there on foot. It took him over a year to cover thousands of miles on foot, crossing forests, grasslands, deserts, and wastelands, eventually reaching the Azure Dragon Lake of the Eastern Kingdom. Before I left, he had already been there for three years, and all he did every day was plant trees, flowers, and grasses, and then meditate in cultivation.”
“He said he was comprehending the Way of Nature.”
“The Druid’s Way of Nature is different from our path of cultivation; the power you use is not the same as ours. Therefore, if you intend to cultivate, you should seek answers from the source of your own power.”
At this point, Ti fell silent.
She slowly closed her eyes, seemingly losing interest in saying anything more.
Soren fell into deep thought from her words; if the Druid’s source of power was the Way of Nature, then where was the source of the Wanderer’s power?
Combat skills?
No!
In terms of combat skills, Wanderers surpassed many professionists, as they were the most skilled in techniques.
Soren looked at the campfire. He noticed the shadows beneath the light.
Shadows.
He gently spread his palm, his expression somewhat thoughtful. The source of power for a Wanderer should be the shadows; this was the only supernatural power they could wield. It was also the support for most supernatural abilities. However, Soren was not very familiar with this ability and had little clue on how to enhance it; most of the time, it felt more like a bloodline ability that gradually seeped into the body with the increase in profession level and strength. From the moment they broke through to become advanced Wanderers, their bodies began to adapt to the power of shadows.
The mysterious Eastern Kingdom.
They seemed to have a completely different path, which is why more and more professionists had journeyed to the Eastern World over the past few centuries.
Soren didn’t have many clues.
After all, he didn’t know much about the cultivation in the Eastern Kingdom, but he was familiar with one thing.
That is the Sword Saint.
The existence of the Sword Saint was a perfect blend of different professional systems from both ends of the continent, inheriting the explosive power of warriors from this side of the continent, while also mastering the most mysterious “Qi” of the Eastern Kingdom.
Qi Slash.
This was the Sword Saint’s most iconic ability.
Releasing one’s combat power at its peak in an instant, all the sword intents Soren currently mastered basically extended from the burst technique of Qi Slash. Soren felt a foggy haze before him, as if he saw something yet also seemed not to see anything. He recalled meeting Gale Wanderer at the very beginning; although he was an advanced class of Ranger Warrior, his combat skills clearly bore traces of “Gale Attack.”
“Perhaps I should visit the Eastern Kingdom again when I have the chance.”
Soren slowly stood up, turned to look back at Ti, and said softly, “It’s almost dawn. Let’s part ways here. Take care! I hope we can meet again someday.”
A glimmer of light began to appear in the sky.
Soren turned and walked toward the distance, saying little.
The Eastern Dance Maiden slowly opened her eyes. She watched Soren’s departing figure with a complex and reluctant expression, but it ultimately transformed into a sense of calm.
“We should go too.”
Ti slowly stood up, gently stomped her foot, and the sandy ground in front of her collapsed, burying the campfire perfectly. She turned, lightly brushed the Eastern Dance Maiden’s cheek, and said slowly, “The princess is still waiting for us to return. It seems that the monasteries in various regions have been making some moves recently. I worry that the ancient evils underground will emerge again.”
Guarding against the evils.
From the fall of the Arcane Empire until now, the ancient evils sealed underground had always been the great enemy of the entire Eastern Kingdom!
The two tall figures gradually walked away.
Before they left, the Eastern Dance Maiden glanced back again. Soren’s figure had already retreated, only a small black dot could be vaguely seen.
The wind and sand began to spread.
This desert was the boundary between two kingdoms and the true place of the Arcane Empire’s destruction.
In this desert, there once flourished an arcane civilization that radiated across the entire multiverse, but it had now become the most desolate and dangerous d*ath Desert.
The energy radiation had destroyed everything.
This desert covered more than a quarter of the continent’s land and had isolated the two kingdoms for thousands of years until the Ascetic from the East appeared, and the Southern Coast opened up the Eastern Sea Route, finally beginning to gradually increase their connection!
However.
To ordinary people, the Eastern Kingdom remained an unattainable unknown land.
………………
In the Frozen Kingdom, Arendelle.
Recently, a new figure emerged in Arendelle: the descendant of Queen Isabella, Lord Adele Isabella.
In other parts of the continent, it wasn’t easy for a woman to be granted noble status, but in Arendelle, there were no such concerns. This Lord Adele Isabella was the new darling of Arendelle; not only did she possess noble bl**d, a beautiful appearance, and astonishing wealth, but she also had a close relationship with Princess Anna of Arendelle. She was almost always invited to court banquets and always sat next to Princess Anna, resembling a close friend of the princess.
Her existence had even reached the ears of other kingdoms in the south, as the bloodline of Queen Isabella held different significance.
On this day.
The newly emerged figure, Lord Adele Isabella of Arendelle, left, planning to take a merchant ship to the Southern Coast because she had her own business in Shipwreck Bay.
It was unknown when this information reached the kingdom of the Southern Coast.
Many southern nobles began to take action, arranging for personnel to meet this woman of noble lineage. Her beauty, wealth, and status had stirred excitement among the young nobles of the south. A woman of noble birth could not only enhance her family’s prestige but also share in immense wealth through her and establish connections with the affluent Arendelle.
A win-win situation.
It was unclear how many southern nobles dabbled in their own schemes.
The web that Soren laid out had already begun to brew.
