Chapter Seventy-Four: Time

Slap.

Soren, who was advancing, suddenly stopped. His entire body tensed, and in an instant, his hand gripped the hilt of the Curved Blade “Ice Death,” fully prepared for battle. The nearby Little Dragon was startled by Soren’s movement, but in the next moment, she rapidly disappeared, her petite figure appearing mid-air, enveloped by an invisible energy field. The only one oblivious to this was the captive Grey Dwarf, who still stared around in confusion.

“Spiritual Energy Field!”

Soren’s expression was very serious as he heightened his perception to the limit, his mind-sensing also aware of the surroundings, and slowly said, “There is a Spiritual Sorcerer casting spells nearby!”

The Little Dragon’s expression was very solemn as she whispered, “Legend Rank!”

“No, no, no!”

“It should be above Legend! I can feel a terrifying power like a psychic storm! The coverage of the Spiritual Energy Field is quite broad!”

“How is that possible!”

“The Material Plane cannot possibly have such a powerful Mind Sorcerer!”

Both of them were ready for battle at any moment.

However, there were no signs of anomalies nearby, and the suddenly erupted Spiritual Energy Field only existed for an instant. When it calmed down, Soren even started to doubt whether it had been an illusion. But if it weren’t for the presence of the Little Dragon beside him, he might have thought what just happened was an illusion. However, since the Little Dragon also sensed it, it definitely could not be an illusion. There indeed had been a very powerful Spiritual Sorcerer casting spells, and the coverage of the Spiritual Energy Field was surprisingly beyond Soren’s imagination.

Such a coverage area.

According to Soren’s past memories, if it were truly the doing of a Mind Sorcerer, then their Profession Level could possibly exceed Level 30!

A Level 30 Mind Sorcerer?

How could that be possible!

Soren had never encountered such a being during the turbulent times; it was probably just a few creatures in the Astral Realm that could reach that level.

“Could it be an illusion?”

The Little Dragon shook her small head and landed, looking at Soren with wide eyes. She murmured, “Did you feel that? Just now! A very powerful Spiritual Energy Field!”

Soren slowly nodded and said solemnly, “I felt it.”

“It’s impossible for us to simultaneously have the same illusion; there really could be a Spiritual Sorcerer appearing nearby.”

“Still, it’s better to be cautious.”

The Little Dragon gently nodded her small head and quietly said, “Could it be Gisz? The knowledge in my memory tells me that Gisz often appears in the Underdark, and many of them are very powerful Spiritual Sorcerers.”

Surprised.

Soren looked at the Little Dragon beside him, very surprised. He slowly said, “That’s possible! Gisz does indeed often appear in the Underdark!”

It seemed that this Little Dragon’s knowledge was considerable.

The genetic memories of dragons often require a long time to awaken fully; judging by her current form, she likely hasn’t fully awakened all her genetic memories, indicating that her lineage might genuinely come from the Dragon Kingdom.

“Gisz!”

“Damn! I don’t understand the Underdark before the Saint’s Cataclysm; could it be that a powerful Mind Sorcerer has really visited the Underdark from the Astral Realm during this time?”

“Who could it be, a traveler from the Astral Realm?”

Soren was desperately searching his memories, but unfortunately, the information he could obtain was very limited. When he initially arrived in the Underdark, the Saint’s Cataclysm had already begun. The gap between the two periods was quite significant, which is why he needed a guide. The difficulty of the Underdark far exceeded that of the surface world; only a small number of adventurers could enter before the Saint’s Cataclysm began. Much information about this period was merely hearsay, as not many had the opportunity to engage in such levels of matters.

Before Soren ascended to Legend, he had also reincarnated in the River of Underworld once, resulting in some gaps in his information layer.

“Better to be cautious.”

Soren looked around and gestured for the Grey Dwarf to continue moving forward, slowly saying, “Mind Sorcerers are not easy to deal with! We must always be ready for an encounter.”

The group continued forward.

But until Soren found the road to the Grey Dwarf city, they encountered no signs of anomalies.

Everything that had just happened felt entirely like an illusion.

They did not encounter any enemies or see any trace of a Mind Sorcerer.

The Spiritual Energy Field vanished.

It only existed for a moment and then completely disappeared.

………………

Underdark, crossroad.

The Vampire Son threw away the corpse of a Drow. He raised his hand and lightly wiped the corner of his mouth, disdainfully saying, “These filthy and lewd Drow! Their blood is as disgusting as feces!”

The Hell Poet stood over another female Drow’s corpse, looking coldly at the Vampire Son and slowly saying, “Then why did you bite her?”

Reinhardt spat lightly, still feeling a bit nauseous.

He turned and glanced at the Hell Poet, a hint of a playful smile appearing on his handsome face, and calmly said, “We are not familiar with this place, so we need a servant to lead the way.”

A drop of blood fell.

Accompanied by some sort of evil and corrupting power, the Drow’s corpse that lay at his feet suddenly trembled.

“Master!”

A cold and emotionless voice echoed as the seemingly dead Drow stood up. Her pupils were gray and white, and she moved like a puppet, humbly kneeling at the feet of the Vampire Son.

“Look.”

The Vampire Son smiled slightly, raised his hand, and tapped the Drow’s forehead, slowly saying, “Such an easy task! Now we can have her lead the way.”

“God of Half-Elves and Wanderers!”

“I’m already a bit eager. What would the blood of a deity taste like?”

“It must be very wonderful!”

The Hell Poet looked at him expressionlessly, gently toying with the magic flute in his palm, and coldly said, “Don’t get carried away! This is the domain of the Spider Queen.”

“She might also take notice of this prey.”

“This existence is not easy to provoke! Even just her avatar could easily kill us.”

Reinhardt’s body trembled slightly, then he seemed to calm down and said, “It shouldn’t be. For the Spider Queen, a deity with weak divine power should not be enough for her to take action personally.”

The Hell Poet didn’t speak but continued walking forward. After a moment, he said, “Don’t forget her greed and brutality!”

“Moreover.”

“Anything associated with elves might pique her interest.”

The Vampire Son paused for a moment and then continued, “But that’s a Half-Elf, with no relation to Drow at all.”

The Hell Poet glanced around and then said, “I know.”

“So we’d better pray not to encounter her. The recent movements of the Drow might be due to her delivering some sort of divine prophecy. Additionally, I’ve heard that a group of competent Paladins have also arrived in the Underdark; I wonder what their purpose is. In this cursed chaotic Underdark, what could attract them here?”

Paladins?

The Vampire Son frowned at the mention and then expressed disgust, saying, “What a bunch of persistent pests!”

………………

Unknown land.

A towering Wizard Tower stood on the plains.

At the top of the Wizard Tower was an astrological platform, inscribed with countless mysterious and ancient runes. At this moment, a figure in a gray robe stood in the center, as if gazing through space into the underground world.

“It’s begun.”

He gently raised his finger, and a metallic sheen glimmered at his fingertip. As the faint glow before him fell, his appearance gradually came into focus.

A metallic face, a metallic body.

The silver metal shone like human skin, slightly changing with expression. On his chest was a special device, a clock that could not be described in words, covered in countless tiny runes. The twelve notches bore unique marks that resembled the constellations of the zodiac.

The clock continued to tick, his gaze focused in the distance, murmuring, “I have little time left.”

“Perhaps the brilliance of arcane magic can shine again!”

“Or perhaps everything will be buried by time!… Only time can tell us the answers!… Only time can prove everything!… ”

“Thank you.”

“Dirk Laina!… May you be eternal in time!… ”

………………

A spatial rift leading to the unknown.

In front of the man made entirely of metal was a space shimmering like a starry river, in the center of which lay the form of a giant dragon. With each breath, time and space gradually warped.

Time Dragon!

In the entire multiverse, only one being could distort time and space in such a manner. (To be continued ~^~)
