Chapter Ninety-Eight: ET No. 1!
In a dark corner.
Just leaving the sight of the Paladins, Soren stumbled a bit, bl**d oozing from the corner of his mouth.
He was actually seriously injured!
Facing the Vampire God alone, even with the power of the Holy Avenger, he couldn’t escape being badly hurt. During the fight, he could force himself to hold off the injuries, but now that the battle was over, he didn’t need to force himself any longer. Regardless of the character of these Paladins or any debts they owed him, one thing was undeniable: Soren belonged to the Evil Faction. He prepared to return to the Overseas Islands.
This trip had yielded significant gains; not only did he obtain what he wanted, but he also eliminated the Vampire Son. Moreover, Soren had truly stepped into the realm of divinity, though he still lacked a few things to complete the transition. What he needed most now was to familiarize himself with this power. Many aspects of divine realms still required him to explore on his own; otherwise, the improvements would be quite limited. Even the Spider Queen took many years to fully integrate after defeating a certain deity (the Mud Monster God), and Soren did not think he would be stronger than the Spider Queen.

He also had a clearer understanding of just how strong a divine avatar of a saint could be.
The Vampire Son was merely wielding Weak Divine Power; less than a year had passed since his investiture. Dealing with him had already made Soren reveal all of his trump cards and, without the power of the Holy Avenger, it was impossible to achieve victory.

Soren calculated roughly to judge how strong other divine saints who descended would likely be!
He still had too much to accumulate.
In fact, there was a simple calculation in his mind that predicted the powers of deities at various levels.
Weak Divinity + Weak Divine Rank = Weak Divine Power deity.

The nearby clay golem nodded, and a strange spell light appeared in its eyes, looking like a modified detection spell.
This clay golem appeared quite unusual.
Because it looked a bit slender, it seemed to lack any combat apparatus; its exterior was closer to a human form. In terms of demeanor and various aspects, it seemed to possess a higher level of intelligence. A familiar feeling emanated from it, a subtle soul wave; it seemed that only one existence within a puppet golem could have a soul wave.

This clay golem was Gloria’s test subject, the original form of the Tower Spirit she had created using precious Soul Crystals.
A smart golem for research purposes, with a biological level of only about 5.
Its combat power was probably less than that of a common pirate, but it had a good number of quasi-spell abilities, mostly modified detection spells.
In terms of potential, ET No. 1’s growth potential exceeded all other puppet golems!

ET No. 1 rotated its gem-like eyes, casting a spell light onto the silvery-white metal ball in Gloria’s palm.
Gloria nodded gently, her expression serious as she firmly grasped the gem on the silvery-white metal ball, slowly saying, “Elemental Energy Conversion Test!… Substitute spiritual energy for the conversion to Gisz Silver Blade form!… ”
“Test begins!… ”
A faint spell light appeared, and the silvery-white metal ball in Gloria’s palm suddenly began to change, almost instantly transforming into the shape of a beheading sword.
The embedded gem became the hilt, while the front was a silver blade flowing with strange light.
“First form switch completed!”
“Conversion rate is 100%! … Form conversion interval is 0.1 seconds!… No energy obstruction or rejection phenomena!… ”
ET No. 1’s eyes sparkled with a strange light, seemingly recording something into its soul crystal.
A smile crept onto Gloria’s lips as she slowly said, “Continue to the second phase of testing!… Synchronize and record the energy changes of the experimental model!… ”
The silver-handed sword emitting strange light quickly resumed its form as a metal ball.
Then, at Gloria’s command, it transformed again into a one-handed sword, a curved blade, a shield, a blade barrier, and a silver long spear.
“Test completed!”
“All first form switches passed!… Conversion rate is 100%… Form conversion interval is 0.1 seconds!… No energy obstruction or rejection phenomena!… ”
ET No. 1 continued to record the success of the tests.
Upon hearing this, Gloria sighed in relief, turning around to slowly say, “Proceed to the second phase of testing!”
“Begin testing for second form conversion!… ”
Starting again with the silvery-white metal ball, in Gloria’s palm, it initially transformed into a one-handed sword; however, it did not revert back to the silvery-white metal ball form, but instead directly transitioned to the shape of a curved blade.
At that moment!
Eerie energy fluctuations appeared, the strange silvery-white light distorted as if a form of interference had manifested.
“Alarm! Alarm!”
“Unknown energy rejection phenomenon detected!… Elemental energy interference severe!… Second form switch failed!… ”
“Signs of damage appear on the Gisz Silver Blade! Should we terminate the experiment?… ”
Gloria let out a sigh, softly saying, “Failed again!… Terminate the test!… Restart the research for the second form conversion!… ”
“What went wrong this time?”
“Why was the first form switch fine, but the second form conversion always fails?”
“Is it because of the lack of spiritual energy control?”
Gloria couldn’t help but fall into deep thought, as the weapon in her palm had already reverted to the silvery-white metal ball. She murmured to herself, “This research has hit a bottleneck; if even the metal form conversion can’t be solved, advancing to the next step of the magical energy structural research is impossible. I wonder if my mother has any new results!… ”
