Abyss Domination – Chapter 509

Chapter 101 Mortal Shell

Dream!

Dream! Dream! Dream!!!

Incredibly vivid dreams! They even made Soren doubt if everything was a dream!

He rarely dreamed.

In Soren’s memory, the number of times he had dreamed was few, but for some reason, now whenever he closed his eyes, dreams would soon appear one after another. All these dreams had similar beginnings, with people praying to the ‘God of Half-Elves and Wanderers,’ and after the prayers began, he would dream about events that occurred for about an hour before and after.

Incredibly real events!

These dreams didn’t last long; Soren’s dreams were sequences, each coming from different characters, lasting only about an hour.

Sometimes he didn’t even fall asleep; merely closing his eyes for a moment would drag him into various strange dreams.

He was almost going crazy!

Though he didn’t know the reason, Soren was sure it was related to the God of Half-Elves and Wanderers, connected to the divine power he had absorbed.

There wasn’t time to investigate.

Soren was in a very bad state! The whole person seemed to be in a haze, unable to distinguish between dream and reality!

His mind was somewhat confused.

It felt like a storage device suddenly filled with too much data, leaving all the space crammed full.

Soren felt as if his brain was about to crash!

Electricity.

Strange electric currents, jumping data, countless 0s and 1s.

Soren even felt as if he had returned to Amber City, lying in bed for an entire half month; the only difference was that he was now far stronger than before. This level of pain was still within his tolerance, his body could withstand this maddening sensation. So he hadn’t completely collapsed. But the feeling of being overwhelmed by countless streams of data, a series of dreams, the myriad voices of people, and so on— all piling together to the point of almost making his brain explode!

Soren truly felt like his head was about to blow up!

Since leaving the Underdark, his mental state had plummeted, and sometimes he experienced brief moments of confusion.

Because suddenly, countless voices rang in his ears.

This chaotic mixture of voices pierced directly into his brain. Hundreds and thousands of phrases were all connected, which should have sounded jumbled, but he could hear each one very clearly.

The end result was that his brain became harder and harder to bear, feeling increasingly painful.

He even doubted whether he had become something akin to a terminal processor; it was as if his brain, like a super-intelligent unit from a past life, was constantly receiving vast amounts of information, all of which were transmitted to Soren’s mind. This placed a tremendous burden on both his spirit and body.

Mortal shell!

Soren was in agony, barely awake for a few hours each day.

His mind was in a daze!

More often than not, he felt like a god, viewing things from some lofty perspective, passing through one incredibly vivid dream after another.

He couldn’t escape these dreams.

Because whenever the call of prayer sounded, his brain would start to receive countless messages.

He was in pain!

Very, very painful!

More painful than any battle he ever faced!…

This pain did not come from physical sources. Rather, it stemmed from his spirit, his head was hurting, swollen, dizzy, and uncomfortable, impossible to describe in any clear language. Because he felt like he couldn’t even organize his thoughts. His brain was filled with electric currents, countless jumping weak currents. And endless data surfaced, this direct pain affecting his brain was maddening!

He wanted to return to the Overseas Islands.

But in fact, the time he was awake throughout the day was decreasing.

He felt like a madman.

Wandering in the wilderness with an unconscious woman, occasionally being bothered by some foolish monsters. But ultimately they all became wandering souls under his blade.

He wandered in the black wasteland east of the Spider Forest; in just one week, it reached many people’s ears.

Nearby townsfolk saw a wandering figure.

………..

A rain.

Cold rain poured from the sky, and the time had quickly approached May.

As summer arrived, torrential rains became more frequent. It was said that rivers in the south had changed course, directly flooding many areas, leaving many people displaced.

This was the main road to the Demacia Duchy.

Passing through the borders of the Spider Forest, entering the black wasteland, and finally from the Howling Gale Valley into the territory of the Demacia Duchy.

A large group of fully armed men was advancing.

At the front of the line were heavily armored knights on tall horses, flanked by well-equipped infantry guards; just one glance could identify the group’s leader as a noble.

The rain seemed to be getting heavier.

It was clear that this group was eager to get on the road, as they had no intention of finding a place to shelter from the rain.

Some minor disturbances occurred ahead.

Then the entire group stopped, and a burly knight rode forward, shouting, “What’s happening? Why did we suddenly stop?!”

Someone was ahead.

In the center of the group, a large, exquisite carriage lifted its curtains, and a young noblewoman stuck her head out, saying, “Sir Eden? What’s going on?”

The knight riding forward glanced and replied, “Nothing! Two travelers have appeared ahead!”

“I’ll make them clear the way now!”

Clang.

The sturdy metal boots hit the ground, and the burly Sir Eden pressed his hand on his sword handle, signaling others to make way. His expression was vigilant, as they were near the Spider Forest and the black wasteland, making it easy to encounter dangerous beings. In front of him stood two people, a woman and a man; the woman held the man’s hand as they stood in the rain, draped in a large cloak, making her face hard to discern.

However, the man behind her was clear enough.

Just one glance, and Sir Eden could tell that he was a difficult character, as he exuded a sense of pressure.

What puzzled him was the man’s vacant expression, almost like a dazed child.

He stood there foolishly, letting the woman in front hold his hand.

Sir Eden almost ordered the two of them to step aside but suddenly seemed to notice something, causing his whole body to tremble. His tone softened a great deal as he said, “I wonder what this witch intends to block the road for?”

A witch.

He noticed the wizard robe the other was wearing under the cloak.

“We mean no harm.”

A very calm female voice rang out, making Sir Eden lower his defenses instantly, for he felt that the two in front truly had no hostility.

The woman led the man forward, who silently and blankly followed.

“We only want to ask you for a ride along the way; we’ll leave as soon as we arrive.”

………..

Inside the carriage.

A beautiful noble girl widened her eyes, watching the two in front of her. The knight in charge of protecting her, Sir Eden, had not let any outsiders near her throughout the journey, let alone sit in her carriage. But now, not only had two outsiders appeared before her, but they also directly sat inside her carriage.

She opened her mouth to say something, but the woman in front simply said “Relax,” and she truly felt at ease.

If it was just a ride, there shouldn’t be any problems, right?

Somehow, she felt reassured.

The whole group quickly moved on, as if the earlier incident had never happened.

The rain continued to fall outside.

The tall woman took off her cloak, her face covered by a veil. After seating the young man beside her, she took out a clean cloth to gently wipe the man’s face, drying him from the rain. The young man sat still, his expression vacant and eyes blank, appearing like a puppet, entirely allowing the woman before him to busily attend to him.

The girl couldn’t help but feel a twinge of curiosity!

She watched the two in front with wide eyes, and after a moment, suddenly asked, “Is he your servant?”

The veiled woman did not turn back, answering, “No.”

The girl looked a little puzzled, tilting her head to observe the pair, continuing to ask, “Then is he your companion?”

The veiled woman said nothing, only shook her head gently.

The girl’s face showed some disappointment, closely observing the two in front. The veiled woman was quite meticulous, currently tenderly fixing the man’s clothes, and so she excitedly asked again, “Then is he your husband?”

The veiled woman let out a light laugh and shook her head again.

The girl finally found herself at a loss and said somewhat dejectedly, “Then I can’t guess!”

The veiled woman stood up.

Her tall figure looked at the girl in front and slowly said, “He is my master.”

“My god…”
