A day passed quickly.
When they arrived at Howling Wind Canyon, the masked woman finally took her leave with the young man.
As soon as these two left the group, the noble girl immediately couldn’t wait to lift the blanket and saw that the hard floor of the carriage had already been marked with traces of fingers. She compared the marks on the carriage and pulled out a dagger from her waist, stabbing it forcefully into the dark floor. This wood was from the north, and even with all her strength, the depth of her stab had yet to reach the depth of the finger marks that had been left behind.
The girl picked up the bronze furnace, looking at the clear fingerprints on it, murmuring, “What kind of monster is that man?”
“Is he a barbarian?”
The departure of the two caused no ripples, just as they had arrived without any objections, they left naturally as well.
No one suspected anything, and no one was puzzled.
Only the noble girl in front of her was curious about something, but she showed no other unusual emotion.
She was not afraid; she was just curious.
Clunk!
Heavy footsteps sounded, and Sir Eden’s voice came from outside the carriage, saying in a deep voice, “My master, we are almost at Verdun City. I heard that a noblewoman from the Frozen Kingdom has arrived recently and is active in the southern noble circles. She is a descendant of Queen Isabella, just like you. This lady possesses remarkable financial power, and if you want to inherit the title, you will need more allies’ support. Perhaps you should take the time to meet her.”
The girl put down the bronze furnace, adjusted her dress, and said slowly, “Alright. I understand.”
………………
Shipwreck Bay.
The business at the White Shark Tavern was as booming as ever. Even though the watered-down wines were criticized, many people came here not necessarily to drink.
This was one of the largest “hideouts” in Shipwreck Bay.
As for what kind of business was conducted here, one glance at the group of fierce and grim-looking guys sitting around made it clear.
This was a pirate’s secret base.
Bang!
The tavern’s door was violently pushed open. The wind and rain from outside rushed in. The brutal-looking pirates sitting near the door immediately frowned, surveying the two newcomers with unfriendly gazes. A young man in a large cloak entered alongside a tall woman with a veil covering her face. The pirates surveyed the man and then shifted their gaze to the masked woman. Her tall figure couldn’t be concealed by the large cloak; her ample chest and curvy figure still attracted attention, leading one to let out a lewd whistle.
The two did not respond to the pirates.
The young man walked directly to the bar, frowned slightly as he looked around, and said in a deep voice, “Get Old Sea Dog to come see me!”
Old Sea Dog?
The fierce-looking tavern owner, who was wiping glasses, was momentarily stunned upon hearing this, then realized it was his leader’s “nickname.”
But not many dared to call him that anymore.
Who was this young man to dare call his leader “Old Sea Dog”? It was known that the big shots in Shipwreck Bay now respectfully referred to him as “Dog Lord”!
Was he not afraid of having his skin peeled off?
The tavern owner sized up Soren. The young man looked very young, like a freshly fledged adventurer. His expression immediately grew unkind, and several henchmen nearby silently moved in closer.
It seemed like there was a show to watch!
The pirates in the tavern wore expressions of schadenfreude.
“Hmph!”
Soren couldn’t help but furrow his brow; he noticed the woman behind him letting out a playful chuckle. Immediately, he lost some face. He turned around and cast a sharp look at the henchmen nearby, and in an instant, he saw a group of henchmen turn pale and retreat, one even scared enough to sit on the ground.
“Get Old Sea Dog to come see me!”
Soren emphasized his words. An invisible pressure instantly enveloped the entire tavern, making all the schadenfreude spectators feel as if someone had grabbed their throats. They genuinely found it hard to breathe.
Clunk!
The cup in the tavern owner’s hand fell to the ground, and his face turned as pale as a sheet, showing no trace of bl**d. It seemed he realized something. Trembling all over, he said, “Yes! … Yes! … Your Excellency! …”
“I will go right now! …”
The tavern fell silent.
The bar owner, flustered, hurriedly sent someone to inform the big boss, while he timidly approached Soren, drenched in cold sweat, wanting to explain something.
“Arrange a quiet room.”
Soren had no interest in arguing with such a lowly character; he scanned the surroundings slowly and said, “I need a fast ship tomorrow; you must prepare it immediately.”
“Gather the other nearby leaders; I have matters to arrange.”
Soren’s figure ascended to the loft.
Once he completely left, the others in the tavern seemed to regain their ability to breathe, each gasping for air, especially those who had initially been unfriendly, now wore pale faces like corpses.
Your Excellency!
They seemed to have realized who the young man was.
Then, they nearly scared themselves to d*ath!
………………
In the room.
Soren ignored the fearful pirates, waved his hand signaling them all to leave, then spread out a large map and pointed to several locations on it. The masked woman looked interested but remained quiet, simply observing without speaking.
“How much of your power remains?” Soren asked while frowning as he examined the map.
The masked woman thought for a moment and then replied, “Just barely reaching the Legendary Domain, the Spider Queen’s mysterious domain is very strong and directly affects my soul.”
Soren nodded slightly and said solemnly, “Can you cast large-scale mental suggestions?”
The masked woman chuckled and nodded, “No problem.”
Urgent footsteps sounded.
When they reached the door, the outsider stopped, took a moment to calm their breathing, and then knocked cautiously.
Soren glanced up and said, “Come in.”
Old Sea Dog walked in.
Three small pirate leaders followed behind him, and they all appeared dressed splendidly now. Old Sea Dog had even gained some weight; it seemed these folks were living quite comfortably in Shipwreck Bay.
Soren glanced at them, and Old Sea Dog immediately started sweating cold.
At this moment.
Soren showed no interest in reprimanding them, simply pointed at the map and ordered, “Immediately send someone to scout around Leaffall City. No matter the means, I need to know any recent news related to Half-Elves immediately.”
Old Sea Dog wiped cold sweat from his forehead and heavily nodded, “Your Excellency, don’t worry!”
“I will arrange for someone to handle it right away! News will be back soon!”
Soren slightly nodded and then looked at the others, saying solemnly, “Gather the pirate leaders from the nearby seas and relay the news back to the Overseas Islands. In three months, I want to hold a military parade in Modo Harbor!”
Military parade?
Old Sea Dog and the others revealed a hint of confusion.
Then they realized, looking a bit shocked and excited, and immediately nodded, “Your Excellency, don’t worry! I’ll notify the other pirate leaders right now!”
Military parade!
This kind of display of power seemed something only mainland kingdoms would do, right?
Could it be that Your Excellency plans to…?
Upon thinking this, Old Sea Dog and the others couldn’t help but feel excited, as Soren had finally decided to take this step.
Tap tap tap.
Soren’s fingers lightly tapped on the map, and after pondering for a moment, he continued, “Let Casa dock the Dragon Head Battleship at Taro Port and send the news to Arendelle, letting the Giants lead the pirate fleet back. Since the Princess has returned, the mere Víkings should pose no problem; just leave a trading company escort there.”
“Return the fleets from the West Coast!… Let Scarface keep an eye on the movements of the Southern Islands!… ”
“Deploy the Third Fleet and the Fifth Fleet to the Eastern Sea Route!”
Soren’s fingers traced along the location of White Horse City, extending along the river all the way to the southeastern sea exit, and said solemnly, “Send word to the Eastern Pirates!… Soon we may need to pass through their territory!… ”
One order after another was issued.
Though it was still unclear what Soren planned, the pirate leaders below already sensed that their lord had some new major moves!
Gathering the forces of the three major seas, what could this mean?
