The distance grew closer.
The foul stench from the wolf mount’s gaping maw assaulted the senses, as the Half-Orc cavalry released a chilling howl and charged towards the crowd ahead. Amidst the cries all around, George turned to glance at his sister, who was holding a child not far away. Without hesitation, he tightened his grip on his weapon and rushed forward. Behind him were the elderly, weak, women, and children; if the wolf cavalry breached their lines, it would be a massacre. As a militia member trained as a warrior, he could not stand by and allow the atrocity to unfold before him.
“Follow me! Men stay back to hold them off!”
George waved his weapon and advanced, with several men, who also had families to protect, clenching their weapons and charging forward. Fear was evident in their eyes, for they faced the terrifying wolf cavalry. Not to mention the Half-Orc warriors on their backs, even the wolf mounts below were not something they could easily contend with. These ferocious beasts were the leaders of the wolf pack. A wolf mount larger than a calf could easily deal with real warriors, and these men, who had only received militia training, found it hard to defeat them.
The sinister smiles of the Half-Orcs loomed before them, as a wolf mount smashed into a nearby man with a single leap, followed by the sickening sound of bones snapping as the wolf’s maw bit through his throat.
Fear spread.
The crushing power and shadow of death brought many faces of terror, yet regardless of how frightened they were, not a single person retreated.
Because they had no way to fall back!
Behind them were a group of elderly, weak, and children, their loved ones among them. As men, they had to stand up, even knowing that it could cost them their lives.
But even in death!
They would fight until the very last moment.
A howl echoed!
The desperate howl of the wolf reverberated as the wolf cavalry surged like a tide, crashing through the defensive formation before them. These ordinary militiamen were no match for them; in just an instant of collision, over a dozen militiamen fell to the ground. One wolf cavalryman broke through their defenses. The slaughter awakened the bloodthirsty instincts of the Half-Orcs, who charged directly at a fleeing woman. She, cradling her child, ran too slowly and was easily overtaken by the wolf cavalry.
The blade sliced through the air!
Facing the terrifying enemy rushing at her, the inexperienced woman crouched down at the moment of contact, maternal instinct urging her to shield her child close. She had exposed her defenseless back to the enemy’s sight.
A head flew into the air.
Spurts of blood accompanied the child’s piercing cries, as the Half-Orc cavalry laughed and swung their blades again.
They held no sympathy for outsiders.
Their bloodthirsty nature made them fierce warriors, and such warriors were ruthless on the battlefield. Their harsh survival conditions led them to adhere to the survival of the fittest; the weak could only be eliminated, even their kin.
Cold light flickered again!
The blade swung towards the crying child; such scenes were not new to them. As relatively foolish Half-Orcs, they also had a shrewd side. The enemy’s children would grow up to become new enemies.
The smell of blood permeated.
The blade cut through the air and came down, a massacre seemed imminent.
Swoosh!
An arrow flew out.
The Half-Orc cavalry stiffened for a moment, then fell from the wolf mount.
The arrow pierced through its forehead, obliterating its skull with a thud as it crashed to the ground. A second arrow shot out, striking the wolf mount’s head, pinning it to the ground.
A terrifying force!
In the darkness, someone seemed to be approaching at great speed. Following closely behind, more figures appeared.
Cold blades flashed.
The wolf cavalry near the crowd was instantly slain by the flying shadows. Heads with fierce expressions fell to the ground, and even the ferocious wolf mounts could barely last a second.
“Roar!”
Accompanied by a deep roar, a massive figure surged out of the darkness.
Clad in heavy armor, he emerged with fiery red eyes, muscles exploding with visible veins.
This was a three-meter tall warrior!
Though he appeared cumbersome, his charging speed was incredibly fast, and in the blink of an eye, he reached a wolf cavalryman; he then roared as he swung the heavy ship’s anchor. The terrifying force erupted with a deep howl, and the wolf mount wailed as it, along with the Half-Orc rider, was smashed into a pulp.
“Half-Orcs are nothing but this!”
The giant glanced at the terrified Half-Elf beside him, a twisted grin forming at the corner of his scarred mouth, before charging once more. His enormous frame wielding the heavy anchor seemed to move where no one could stand against him. In one swing, both man and wolf were crushed into mere patties.
The giant.
Soren’s pirate leader, not the brightest, but an exceptionally skilled enforcer.
He should be the closest pirate leader to legendary strength under Soren; his intelligence didn’t deter Soren from valuing him highly. He had the bloodline of a swamp giant combined with the abilities of a warrior and barbarian, charging to the front in every battle, often breaking through the enemy’s defenses alone.
“Don’t waste time!”
Scarface plunged his knife into the wolf mount’s throat, turned, and looked at the giant beside him, saying in a deep voice, “There are still enemies approaching! Some in front are struggling. Go help them deal with the Half-Orc army.”
Dark figures swiftly approached.
Soren’s elite pirates finally arrived, the wolf cavalry falling one after another. Realizing something was wrong, some enemies attempted to flee, but were swiftly ended by arrows.
The giant roared and charged forward.
—— “Berserk!”
His massive body, upon nearing the Half-Orc army, showed no signs of slowdown, swinging his anchor as he surged into the ranks of the temple warriors.
This charged through the Half-Orc formation, leaving chaos in his wake.
“Giant! You idiot!”
Scarface jumped in frustration from behind, having no choice but to speed up and follow.
That idiot!
I told you to support the temple warriors at the back, not to charge into the Half-Orc army and unleash havoc. Scarface’s mind raced with a thousand curses, but at this moment, he could only grit his teeth and push on.
Bang!
Accompanied by a piercing scream, a Half-Orc warrior was directly sent flying, crashing into seven or eight others before finally landing, lifeless. The giant bullied his way through clad in full armor, his strength even greater than Soren in transformation form. Combined with his giant bloodline’s size advantage, he was a true powerhouse. The ship’s anchor used on large warships became a complete weapon on the battlefield, making the Half-Orcs feel like a bunch of children against him.
The heavy anchor howled through the air.
The giant seemed to feel it wasn’t bloody enough, and threw the massive anchor forward.
This time, it was a horrific scene!
The heavy anchor swept through like a shadow, carving a bloody line through the ranks of the Half-Orc army. The giant grew more excited with each kill; the land battle was significantly larger than the battlefield at sea, and he charged forward again, picking up the anchor, then swung it in a three hundred sixty-degree arc, instantly clearing a vacuum around him.
The giant species truly was a battle-killing machine!
Merely his presence severely impacted the morale of the Half-Orcs; his immense size and massive weapon created a crushing advantage, instantly disrupting their formation.
In the darkness.
Arrows shot forth like a tempest, Soren calmly nocked an arrow onto his bow, each shot claiming an enemy’s life.
His figure darted swiftly in the night.
Any target resembling a Half-Orc officer that appeared met with lethal arrows. The elven war bow could penetrate armor within three hundred meters, and Soren’s dark vision rendered him unaffected by the night. He moved like a ghost on the battlefield, calmly and lethally sniping any dangerous target.
No one could evade his sight, nor escape his arrows.
After all, he had the bloodline of a Half-Elf!
