From the battlefield, stepping back temporarily, the situation before him became much clearer.
A group of ghouls had unexpectedly burst through the flank of the Demon Legion. It was unknown how they had managed to escape; perhaps there was a teleportation array within the camp. The impact of the ghouls completely shattered the flank of the Succubus Legion. By the time Soren retreated to the rear, his own faction’s demons had already scattered in large numbers. The command among the demons was already chaotic, and now the enemy had a significant numerical advantage, causing the low-level demons to start fleeing en masse, with ghouls and werewolves in hot pursuit behind them.
The entire battle resembled a farce.
However, the number of troops remained considerable; just this small-scale conflict had mobilized over ten thousand demons. If these Demon Legions were truly unleashed, even without command, they could easily crush the main force of a kingdom. After all, in the Bottomless Abyss, even the lowest-level Coward Demons had two biological levels equivalent to advanced professionists.
The biggest feature of the Abyssal War was the abundance of cannon fodder, with numbers so vast that over ten thousand seemed like a fight between two neighboring villages; it took hundreds of thousands to qualify as a decent battle, and a million for it to barely qualify as a real war. Of course, among such enormous numbers, the vast majority were low-level demons, and the truly decisive combat power lay with the elite mid to high-level demons.
The battle had continued until now.
Both sides of the Demon Legions had suffered severe casualties, with losses exceeding five thousand. Some were killed by the enemy, while others fell to their own comrades.
There was no helping it!
This was the norm in the Bottomless Abyss; on the battlefield, one had to be cautious not only of the enemy’s attacks but also of those frenzied combat demons that might accidentally crush you.
Just as Soren witnessed, a Demon Sorcerer actually threw explosive fireballs into the crowd; although many enemies were killed, a significant number of his own demons also perished!
Soren, having just advanced in rank, was still quite conspicuous.
But at this point, the Demon Supervisors no longer cared. As the number of visible enemies edged close to double, these Demon Supervisors had long since fled.
The Tempt Commander hadn’t participated in the fighting from start to finish; upon realizing the situation was amiss, she immediately began to retreat!
The retreat turned into a rout.
Behind were the howling enemy frenzied combat demons, along with many ghouls and werewolves. Those who ran slowly were either captured or killed outright.
“Is this considered a farce?”
That thought lingered in Soren’s mind, but now he too had to flee.
His instincts told him things were not that simple. The Succubus Queen was known for her cunning ways, and those commanding the Demon Legion here were at least Radiant Nuns; it was impossible for them to easily send troops over to their deaths.
Sure enough!
Soon, smoke began to rise from further away, indicating that another battle had erupted.
At that moment, the Tempt demons finally halted their steps and then turned to charge towards the Werewolf Legion. Shortly thereafter, he saw the shimmering light of a teleportation array appear on the side. The first to emerge was a succubus clad in metallic skin-tight armor. Throughout the Bottomless Abyss, it was likely only the succubi could meet human aesthetic standards; these demons birthed from the essence had donned their seductive metallic armor strikingly, with black iron-forged boots reflecting light. They formed an orderly formation for battle, the front line seemingly led by a Succubus Executioner, who used a long whip with metallic barbs to brutally expose the blanched bones of an enemy.
The figures of frenzied demons emerged.
Their heavy bodies began to charge into the enemy, with Succubus Sorceresses casting one spell after another. Weaker-willed demons were immediately entranced and turned against their allies.
The Succubus Legion that emerged via teleportation began to counterattack. They formed a neat formation, encircling and cutting the battlefield in two.
“It seems the legend of the Succubus Queen shifting towards the Lawful camp is true!”
Soren realized at a glance that the battle command and discipline of both sides were not on the same level; the legend that the Succubus Queen had tilted towards order was likely true, as the army embodied absolute order. It was precisely because the Succubus Queen began to lean towards the order camp that she could train such a powerful army and rise rapidly within the Bottomless Abyss!
With the succubi’s innate abilities, if they fought chaotically like other demons, they would likely suffer a swift annihilation.
The light of divine techniques illuminated the area.
A profane power fell upon Soren, instantly healing part of his wounds.
Shock!
A hint of astonishment appeared in Soren’s eyes. During the Saint’s Cataclysm, he had not seen succubi using divine techniques because the gods had lost their powers at that time. But now, the Saint’s Cataclysm had not fully erupted, and the succubi before him could wield divine techniques, which only meant one thing: the Succubus Queen – Mikanxute’s divine profession as the “God of Desire” was not just for show; she truly could grant divine techniques to those succubi who worshipped her!
The priestess healers appeared!
Each of these exquisitely beautiful succubus priestesses not only reduced the casualties of the Demon Legion but also instantly boosted their morale to a howl!
The appearance of the succubus priestesses not only inspired morale but also caused many demons to enter a frenzied state.
Elite demons stood guard around the succubus priestesses; they did not directly join the fight, as it appeared that very few among the succubi had the ability to advance to priestesses, making them a rare strategic troop.
Light of spells emerged.
The figures of Judge Souls also appeared on the battlefield, and three massive Demon Spiders charged in like tanks; these gigantic spiders weighing up to 6,500 pounds were truly a nightmare for low-level demons. Their strength above 31 crushed down, and mid to high-level demons joined the battle, surrounding over ten thousand enemies with less than two hundred of their own. The figure of a Radiant Nun appeared, soaring through the air, seemingly intent on devouring the entire army of Werewolf King – Yenogu!
This was an encirclement battle.
The situation changed so rapidly that even Soren was a bit surprised, but it didn’t hinder him from continuing to harvest heads.
— “Flame Body!”
A scorching flame appeared on Soren, instantly transforming him into a burning humanoid. Nearby demons quickly distanced themselves because even they would be harmed by the Flame Body.
Soren’s figure charged out.
It was a feeling he had never experienced before, an extraordinarily refreshing sensation of overpowering the battle; he only needed to avoid those powerful demons, and by circling among the low-level demons, he could burn many enemies to ashes!
