Chapter Eight: Demon Paladin!

No one would underestimate the God of Death, even though the God of Death System has repeatedly fractured. Nonetheless, all deities maintain a sense of awe towards the Gods of Death.

One of Soren’s sources of power, the “Killing” Divine Profession, evolved from the “Death” Divine Profession.
Not only that, the War Divine Profession, the Murder Divine Profession, the Destruction Divine Profession, and so on—these Divine Profession powers that created strong Divine Powers are almost all shadowed by the “Death” Divine Profession. It can even be said that some have completely evolved from the “Death” Divine Profession. “Death” is the oldest power. Even though it has been split countless times, it has still created many powerful deities. Therefore, everywhere in the multiverse, people understand the need to maintain a proper reverence for the God of Death.
The soul of the Ferryman of the Underworld is in the roll of the God of Death.
The death of any Ferryman of the Underworld can potentially be known by other Ferrymen, leading to them being blacklisted and denied passage on the ferries of the Underworld, and even attacked.
The winding River of Underworld leads to many unknowable places!
This is the most dangerous waterway in the multiverse because it can erase memories and devour souls. The reward for passage on the River of Underworld is 100 Gind, which is the minimum standard. Typically, demons pay in white coins and gems, and the more reward offered, the better the service of the Ferryman. However, it is clear that the Ygoroth in front of them is not in a good mood; it immediately ordered all the passengers to leave as soon as they reached their destination.
They hate fighting because fighting affects business!
Just disembarked.
The Soul Judge Demon moved, its expression blank and not uttering a word. They are always so taciturn because they bear so much.
—“Holy Slashing!”
A bright light emerged.
In this evil and chaotic Underdark, even Soren felt this brightness was somewhat blinding.
He understood why.
Paladin!
The Hellspawn in front had given up its original powers and had advanced to become a Paladin!
It was simply unbelievable.
Throughout history, many Hellspawn have sought redemption, but those who manage to advance to Paladin status are exceedingly rare—indeed, it seemed he had returned to order while combating evil and chaos, merging a bit of divine power. The “Holy Slashing” he used was the most favorable proof, as only orthodox Paladins could wield it.

A Paladin had once been born among Hellspawn. The earliest recorded Paladin was a Succubus whose fate was quite unfortunate. Ultimately, she could not obtain redemption and fell back into evil. As for her final outcome, it certainly was not good. Some say she died at someone’s hands, while others say she went to the “Shura Field” and eventually became a Demon Lord there.

The power of the Paladin even disgusted the Ferryman of the Underworld, but it had completed its mission. So it coldly glanced back before turning to leave.
At that moment, Soren hesitated slightly.
Because the Hellspawn, having advanced to Paladin status, was aggressively defending against evil, he was uncertain if his help would earn goodwill and was skeptical about how far the Hellspawn could last after this encounter.

Just as the Soul Judge Demon repelled the Paladin in front of it, Soren emerged from the shadow behind it. Accompanied by a chilling glimmer, this near-Legendary Level demon was slain with a single blow!

Soren expressionlessly swung his curved blade, and a silver-white strange light appeared, revealing the fear on the face of the Greater Succubus.
She seemed somewhat desperate, realizing Soren was an enemy she could not contend with.
Yet she still shouted with a sharp voice, “Who are you? Why are you interfering in this matter! This is the prey of the ‘Wind Demon King’—Pazuzu!”
A beautiful head flew away.
Soren silently retracted his silver-white curved blade, the weapon transforming into a metallic sphere amidst the strange light. He glanced back at the Hellspawn behind him, not expecting any gratitude, and directly walked into the darkness.
Another Paladin.
An interesting Paladin met in the Material Plane, and it turned out an interesting Paladin was also encountered in the Bottomless Abyss.
The two heads of Greater Demons.
Directly brought Soren nearly sixty thousand points of Killing Experience, equivalent to slaying a weaker dragon; this transaction was fairly profitable.
As for the “Wind Demon King”—Pazuzu mentioned by the Greater Succubus, Soren did not care much.
This ancient Obsidian Demon Lord particularly enjoyed tempting Paladins, and it might even assist them. As long as a Paladin sought help from it, the chance of it personally intervening was quite high.

The Hellspawn stood still.
