Chapter 16: The Fear Twins!
“Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!”
George leaned against the corner, breathing heavily. In front of him was the slain demon, beside it were injured colleagues, and a deceased pirate captain. George had always harbored some prejudice against pirates, akin to the idea that ‘a leopard cannot change its spots.’ Thus, within Modo City, there were various factions, and the ongoing conflicts were tacitly accepted by Soren. The pirate faction was indeed powerful, but the officers and soldiers selected from among the half-elves were also quite outstanding.
During this time, both sides had been in fierce competition, and the deceased pirate captain had been an opponent George had secretly contended with.
However, just moments ago, this scarred man had sacrificed himself to cover their side attack, bravely taking on a demon’s assault head-on. The immense force shattered his bones, and before George and the others could respond, he fell victim to the demon. Even as d*ath approached, this fierce man, who had roamed the seas for most of his life, summoned his last ounce of strength to stab his weapon into the demon’s throat, thus allowing them to slay this demon.

They had never faced such a dangerous enemy before. Although they had heard tales of demons and devils appearing in other parts of the continent in taverns, this was the first time within the territory of Modo City. George slowly stood up and walked to the body of his fallen comrade. He knelt on one knee and closed the man’s eyes. Beside him, injured individuals were helping each other up, calling for priests while anxiously tending to others.
The bond of brotherhood among men can sometimes be that simple.
Just moments ago, they might have been rivals from different factions, but now they were truly comrades worthy of trusting each other’s backs.
“May your soul rest in peace!”
George tightly gripped his longsword, glanced at the deceased pirate captain, then turned and walked towards the alleyway.
The battle was not over.
No matter who it was, Modo City had already become his new home. To protect this home, he was willing to fight until his last breath! The peaceful and orderly life here could never be allowed to be disrupted by others!
Even the powerful demons could not shake the fighting spirit in his heart!
“Crossbowmen, prepare!”
The angry voice of the officer came from the side, accompanied by the sound of organized footsteps as all the crossbowmen equipped with military crossbows appeared. The figures of Drow Warriors leaped across the rooftops, their profession levels significantly higher than ordinary people. Since these demons dared to come, none would be allowed to leave alive.

The bipedal wyvern flew overhead.
Gloria’s expression turned surprised for a moment before she quickly followed. The Fallen Witch was augmenting protective fire spells. The surroundings were rapidly turning into a sea of flames.
Faint growls could be heard in the distance.
By the time the two Legendary Witches arrived, the battle was almost over.
Vivian hovered in mid-air.
The bipedal wyvern slowly landed before her, the little girl holding a pitch-black magic sword, twisting the surrounding space.

A corpse of a Greater Demon. A corpse of a Slayer, and a critically injured Legendary Priest.
A mysterious demonic tattoo appeared on Vivian’s tender face. Her black princess dress seemed to be enveloped by some powerful force, and behind her were a pair of demonic wings that had grown larger than before.
Her expression was very calm.
Surrounded by numerous demon corpses, she turned to glance at Gloria, then placed the Destruction Magic Sword against the neck of the Legendary Priest. In a voice filled with authority, she said, “Submit! Or d*e!”
The Legendary Priest struggled with his expression.
Vivian slightly furrowed her brow and lightly swung the Destruction Magic Sword, causing a head to fly off.
bl**d evaporated in the twisted space; the so-called artifact-level Legendary Spell ‘Destruction Magic Sword’ was not something a priest could easily withstand.
The body dissipated.
This was the power of space fragments, directly disintegrating any matter that could not be adjudicated.
For the little girl, killing a Legendary Priest was as easy as crushing an ant. Once she confirmed there were no enemies nearby, she lightly descended in front of Gloria.
“Vivian!?”
Gloria’s expression was filled with uncertainty as she murmured, “Are you okay?”

Vivian shook her head with a smile, then lightly stepped onto the back of the bipedal wyvern, her gaze tranquil as she looked at Gloria and softly said, “I’m leaving.”
“This is my fate! I can’t always run away! I can’t keep relying on my brother!…”
“I am the Fear Witch!…”
“Fate has decreed that I must face all of this myself.”
“Please tell my brother that when all of this is over, I will return to his side. Now! … I must face my destiny!…”
At this point, the little girl’s voice grew softer, and finally, in a barely audible tone that only she could hear, she murmured, “Whether as Vivian or Lilian, our fate is destined to conquer Him to have a future.”
“Go.”
“Vivian! You can’t run away anymore! Brother said there is an even greater disaster coming, and only by overcoming our fate can we be with him forever to face everything!”
