Chaos spread rapidly.
Battles erupted all around the entire Gurenba Arena, and the demon goblins had lost the strength to regain control. Without the leadership of the Demon Lord, they became chaotic and disordered. The dramatic change occurred so quickly that just as Soren withdrew from the chaotic battlefield and arrived at the Lava Tavern, the scene before him also unfolded.
“Master!”
The Succubus Boss, with her enchanting beauty and the mark of a slave collar around her fair neck, lit up with excitement upon seeing Soren. She quickly approached him, crouched down, and kissed his toes, saying hurriedly, “The powerful Executioner – Soren!”
“The humble Reynalise is willing to serve you as my master! In the witness of the River of Underworld, I am willing to devote everything I have to you!”
“Please allow me to bring them to be your servants.”
Behind the graceful and stunning Succubus Boss, five Succubus Tavern waitresses also knelt down, kissing Soren’s toes in the name of the ‘River of Underworld,’ vowing to serve him as their master. However, she had a little trick when she spoke: her original identity was a slave, but when she swore to serve Soren, she transformed into a servant.
Servants and slaves are two different concepts!
What a clever Succubus.
In the Bottomless Abyss, Succubi are considered high-value commodities; at the very least, these Succubus slaves could attract the wealth of any high-level demon. The chaos outside had led her to guess everything—under such circumstances, it was hard for weaker Succubi to protect themselves, and they could only seek a powerful master to ensure their safety. Soren, who had always resided in the Lava Tavern, was undoubtedly among her candidates. Moreover, just yesterday, the Demon Lord Miamid – Coin of Disaster had attempted to force a transaction of Dragon Crystal with him, only to meet an unknown fate today; even an idiot couldn’t help but draw a connection.
Was there a formidable backing behind this powerful Flame Demon!
For the beautiful Succubus Boss before her, even if Soren truly had no remarkable backing, merely relying on his powerful strength as a Flame Demon and the reputation he gained in the Gurenba Arena was enough to protect them from being plundered and violated by other demons. Although Succubi have a nature of promiscuity, they do not accept just anyone; they also prefer handsome demons. Soren was undoubtedly more appealing than other high-level demons, and he had also rejected the tempting invitations of Succubus waitresses, which only made them value him even more.
The Succubus Boss’s oath of fealty quickly pacified the restless demons and evil spirits in the tavern.
Soren’s reputation was no small matter!
Flame Demon – Soren!
Executioner – Soren!
The powerful demon rising in the Gurenba Arena, who had yet to experience defeat; nearly all demons and evil spirits here had heard of his name.
Initially, the ill-intentioned evil spirits clearly retracted their impure thoughts. Succubi, whether in the Bottomless Abyss or in the Hell of Bartok, are high-value commodities, and selling these Succubi to others is quite lucrative. However, now that they had sworn to serve Soren, these neutral faction evil spirits had to consider the cost of offending a powerful Flame Demon.
A chain reaction began to take effect.
As soon as the Succubus Boss swore to serve Soren, the demons serving as enforcers in the tavern immediately followed suit, swearing allegiance. Servants and slaves are two concepts; they realized they needed to take action. In such chaotic circumstances, the Lava Tavern was naturally a hot commodity, and they needed to latch onto a strong ally to ensure their safety.
Never underestimate the power of reputation!
While most of the demons in the Lava Tavern swore to serve Soren as their master, a hideous and grim-looking Ghost Hag soon appeared outside.
“Your Excellency Soren!”
The ugly Ghost Hag approached Soren, flanked by two evil spirit guards. She quickly went to Soren, bowed her head, and said, “The situation outside is becoming increasingly chaotic.”
“I fear other demons will come to plunder my shop! Therefore, I would like to implore the powerful Your Excellency Soren to provide us shelter.”
Behind the Ghost Hag were other evil spirits; many neutral faction evil spirits had opened shops here in Gurenba Arena. Perhaps Soren’s lawful evil faction made demons feel disgusted, but for these neutral evil spirits, Soren was much easier to gain their recognition, just as evil spirits prefer trading with devils rather than demons.
“This is a gift for you, Your Excellency!”
The Ghost Hag signaled with her eyes, and soon a servant arrived with a heavy box. When the Ghost Hag opened it, a golden light immediately shone from within; it was filled with Coins of Disaster and a few gemstones, the value of which was likely considerable.
However, the Ghost Hag seemed worried that Soren might feel unsatisfied, quickly adding, “This is just a small token of appreciation.”
“If Your Excellency is willing to protect our business, we will offer such tributes every month.”
The demon goblins were already at their wits’ end.
The chaotic situation was beyond the control of the demon goblins; a new partitioning structure was about to emerge in the Gurenba Arena. The Ghost Hag was undoubtedly a clever person; she directly took the taxes that were originally supposed to be handed over to the demon goblins and used them as protection money for Soren. In the current circumstances, clinging to the leg of a legendary Flame Demon was certainly more reliable than those goblins.
It seemed to be a leading role.
There were already a large number of shops near Gurenba Arena, and those neutral faction evil spirits were eager to pay Soren protection fees in hopes that he would protect them from this chaotic crisis.
The fighting was already beginning to encroach upon this area.
If demons charged in next, their shops would likely suffer plundering. Although they had strong guard forces, without a legendary strongman to intimidate the enemy, they would surely suffer some losses.
In the blink of an eye.
In the street centered around the Lava Tavern, almost all the evil spirits operating shops had paid protection fees to Soren, while other demons realized this was an opportunity to rise and swore by the River of Underworld to serve Soren as their master. But these guys were still a bit clever; they swore in the capacity of servants rather than as slaves. This represented that they possessed a certain degree of freedom and the right to have their private property.
Servants are servants, and slaves are slaves.
Slaves themselves are one of the master’s properties, and for a moment, many demons who were originally goblin slaves transformed into Soren’s servants. (To be continued ~^~)
