Chapter 29: Turning the Tables!
Soren naturally knew nothing about the events in Modo. If he did know, as long as it wasn’t some nuclear fusion-level alchemical research, he would probably agree to the Fallen Witch’s request.
After all, alchemy could provide him with tremendous assistance. Just a batch of clay golems and stone golems had fundamentally changed Modo’s labor capacity. But should it lose to Soren, it was unlikely that the Demon Lord would change the rules of the Gurenba Arena for its sake.

It was evident that while Soren’s situation was becoming increasingly dangerous, his popularity among demons was rising. Reputation was never too high in the Bottomless Abyss. Though it might not seem to have an immediate effect, once Soren aimed to establish his own territory, its significance would become quite apparent.

A tall but obese goblin appeared before everyone. Its pupils were a vivid red, displaying obvious demonic features, adorned with numerous tattoos and scars. It stood taller than an ordinary demon, grasping a strange scepter inlaid with dark red gems. The pressure radiating from the Demon Lord enveloped the Gurenba Arena, instantly silencing all demons, as if the once-boisterous shouts had been choked, making even breathing feel difficult.
Demon Lord.
The ruler of goblins! Miamid – Coin of Disaster!
Legend has it that it was the experimental creation of a certain high-level demon, which ultimately made a deal with a devil to eliminate its master, becoming a demon lord in its own right within the Bottomless Abyss.
“Flame Demon!”
The goblin demon lord sat on the throne at the top of the Gurenba Arena, casting a not-so-friendly gaze at Soren’s figure. For any demon lord, those daring enough to oppose them were better off dead. Furthermore, the Flame Demon seemed particularly eager to cross paths with it; the Balroth Fire Demon corpse displayed outside the Gurenba Arena was a testament to its former enemy.
Soren’s expression remained calm.
His gaze swept across the arena, and suddenly he seemed to catch a glimpse of a succubus’s silhouette.
Greater Transformation Spell.
It seemed another unruly visitor had arrived.
A shadow silently slipped in. No one noticed the arrival of Soren’s true form, not even the goblin demon lord sitting in the center, unaware that the physical form of a deity had already emerged. Though the demon lord possessed great power and held a faint virtual divinity in its domain, there remained a great disparity compared to a true deity, especially one of a high-level wanderer.
“Hehe.”
The goblin demon sorcerer let out an odd cackle, casting Soren a malicious glance. Slowly, it said, “Ingrate! Feel my power!”
—— “Summon Evil Spirits!”
—— “Protection from Fire Damage!”
As a quasi-legendary spellcaster, the goblin demon sorcerer instantly activated the summoning spell while granting itself protection from fire damage, continuing to cast spells at an astonishing speed.
“Come forth!”
“My servant!”
With a heavy thud of its scepter against the ground, a rumbling echoed from either side of the arena, and soon two iron golems appeared, thundering towards the combat.
An unbalanced fight!
The Gurenba Arena surprisingly unleashed the goblin demon sorcerer’s golems, instantly overwhelming Soren with sheer numbers.
—— “Greater Invisibility Spell!”
The goblin demon sorcerer activated its gear, making its figure gradually vanish. However, a portal slowly opened before it, directly connecting to the [d*ath Arena] dimension. Then, a fierce evil spirit charged out. It appeared fully prepared and had devised a strategy specifically targeting Soren, leveraging its authority to facilitate the process. According to standard d*ath arena rules, spellcasters were generally not allowed to bring their golems in.
The two iron golems began to close in.
The evil spirit that burst forth from the summoning magic circle instantly locked onto Soren as its target, letting out a deep growl and lunging toward him in an instant.
Clang!
A crisp sound of impact rang out.
Flames ignited around Soren; he took out a vial of magma dragon’s bl**d and poured it over himself. As the sound of cracking bones echoed, the flames around him surged and spread, enveloping nearly ten meters, as if someone had doused him in gasoline. He transformed once more into his Flame Demon form.
—— “Bind!”
Soren flapped his demon wings and soared into the air, effortlessly gathering flames into a fiery whip in his palm that lashed out toward the evil spirit before him, as he instantly dove down, swinging his executioner’s sword.
Clang clang!
The iron golems accelerated, charging in as if they intended to grab Soren and prevent his escape off the ground.
—— “Poison Curse!”
—— “Dullard Curse!”
The goblin demon sorcerer’s vague figure appeared, raising its hand to cast a spell, but it wasn’t a damaging spell; instead, it was the most insidious Dullard Curse.
If Soren failed to pass a saving throw, he would instantly become a simpleton.
However…
It would probably be disappointed, as such spells rarely worked effectively on Soren. Even with the prior use of the Dullard Curse to lower his saving throw, accompanied by a splash of bl**d, the summoned evil spirit was instantly slain by Soren!
The iron golems closed in.
In that moment, Soren seemed a bit distracted. Meanwhile, on the other side of the Gurenba Arena, an elusive figure invisible to the eye gradually approached the demon lord’s position.
